There's a known bug with your profile word count where words get added when previewing a post. My daily count is recomputed every time from scratch and is the accurate one for all practical purposes. Only IC posts are counted, that is posts in the first section of the forum and in threads that don't contain the word OOC in their title.

Remember, remember, the 5th of November, the day when much writing was done by each member. This day last year there were two people over 20k words - today we have seven! Looks like it’s going to be a tough fight over the highest word count this year. Just make sure you have 8,333 words by the end of the day, and all will be fine.
