Time Stamp 30 Fall 513 -6th bell-
The morning had dawned and the Windchaser pavilion was up and about, already preparing to begin their morning. No one remained asleep, least of all the captive Taylani who did not quite fit in with the family. Skylar worked the leathers for the family, Fallan helped him or helped with the herds, or did whatever Fallan did when he wasn't pestering her. That wasn't fair of her to think that way, he was truly trying to teach her how to be the good little Drykas captive..Sighing Taylani exits the area that she and Fallan slept in trying to rid herself of the annoyances that she had woken up with. It seemed to her more and more often of late she was surly and grouchy. Which considering that she was Fallan's captive and being forced to breed might seem the most likely emotions but she disliked living like that. So Taylani tried to push aside the tide of emotion, and had requested that she might try her hand at breakfast for the family.
She was almost surprised when Fallan's mother and the other women -various wives Taylani figured but really didn't make too much of an attempt to get to know any of them- had agreed so readily. Perhaps they were tired of, how did Fallan put it, having a captive that was a taker. Growling to herself as she moved into the cooking area of the pavilion. She was hesitant to use the fire pit that was set up, afraid she might catch the cloth of the pavilion on fire, even though the Drykas had placed it where it was unlikely to do that,
She had been showed which packs held which items and she found them easily enough. Two skillets and a spatula, lard, salt, and pepper. Then the eggs and the slab of mystery meat that Taylani had no clue what kind it was so she just planned on frying it until it looked like it was probably done.
She hung both skillets over the iron rod that was set up over the fire. It was odd using skillets that had a handle over the top and not jutting from the side, but it wasn't too different then cooking on her mother's stove. She dumped a little bit of lard in the skillet and let it begin to sizzle, dusting a little salt, a little pepper into the lard as well. It took just a moment for the lard to begin to sizzle.
In one skillet she cracked one egg, then another into the sizzling oil. The yolk was complete, it did not break though the whites of the egg actually started to turn white rather soon, a signal that the oil was too hot. In the other pan she placed three slices of the mystery meat into the cooking oil.
