Hadrian nodded at Vance's words, as it was all useful information to his mind, if not exactly the answer to his question. He smiled and rephrased: "I'm sorry, I must not have been clear. I meant to ask what it is about this place that makes it more comfortable for you. I was not aware that a place could be more comfortable than another when one no longer has a body to put at ease, though I suppose there are all sorts of comfort. "I have a proposition for you, though, and I hope you'll not find me too forward. I have been reading about the creation of soulmist in this book and I would like to make an attempt. Should you be willing to follow me home -- to my parents' home, that is -- I could try this little spell and see if I have a knack for it. Supposedly, even if my attempt is meager, the product of my blood and djed would be at least mildly appealing to you." He looked carefully at this specter, wondering if the promise of sustenance without recompense would make him suspicious or grateful.
