AppearanceRace: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Birthday: 24th, Winter, 489
Birthplace: Sunberth
Appearance: Jack has fairly tanned skin, short dark brown hair and even darker brown eyes which are often mistaken as black. He mostly wears simple clothes without any true personal touch. He is about 5'10" with an agile athletic build. His body bears the scars of many fights from around Sunberth, most just slash scars from daggers and short swords. He has a very slight crooked nose from a break which he earned in a game of good old fashion fisty cuffs, it healed fairly well and actually almost complements him.
Character ConceptJack is a fairly rough man both physically and personality wise. He has a very hard time sympathizing with people. He sees death as a day to day thing, there's no point running from it forever, it just happens and there's no problem with that, it can even be a bit fun to him sometimes. Though he'd rather run from a fight then stay to the death if he has the option. Coinciding with his view of death he wields a weapon that is a symbol of death itself. Jack utilizes a scythe as his primary weapon, and has become quite competent in it's use. Often resorting to intimidating people, Jack very much appreciates the aid the scythe provides. Oftentimes Jack enjoys his work a little too much, and will sometimes become lost in the violence. A trace of sadism lines him and he really does enjoy scaring people.
Jack can be rather impatient and will usually try to solve most things physically, though he gets the idea if somethings not working. In groups he'll respect the ranks but the higher ups would do well not to act all high and mighty to him. he has a severe dislike for anyone who thinks they're better than others. He does not judge people for their choices in life as he knows everyone needs to do their own thing to get by. Jack himself has chosen to take mercenary work up himself, to follow after his parents. He intends to work his way up until he becomes a very sought after warrior.
Underneath the cruel shell there is a slight bit of honor within him, but it's more common sense then anything. Jack will always pay debts back in full, almost flawlessly so. This extends to debts towards him, don't pay up and he'll force you to, occasionally with your life. He will not try to escape a deal and will see a task through to the end. Should he need to flee he will but sure enough he will be back in the morrow, and better equipped from what he's learned. If you're paying him he'll deliver and if he can't a full refund is reasonable in his opinion.
Finally Jack has one big sore thumb of a flaw, he's a sucker for beautiful women, whether in personality or looks. Any woman who is repeatedly kind to him even through his rough exterior can easily snatch his young heart up. it's very easy to tell when this has happened as he will actually try to socialize properly, even if only to that one person.
Character HistoryJack had a family once, a loving mother and father. His parents where mercenaries, they left for days at a time for their trade but they brought enough home to live fairly comfortably. Jack became independent quickly but he still enjoyed the company of his parents. One day Jack's father returned to the home but without his mother. He explained to the boy that she was gone, and she was never coming back, she had died on the job.
However Jack remained strong, not a single tear was shed for his mother, though on the inside he still felt the loss. Much of his father's time spent at home was devoted to Jack's training, and he was a quick learner. Training with scythes and unarmed combat he became more and more competent by the day. Not only that but his father was a very quick fighter and taught Jack some of his acrobatic maneuvers for combat. His father wielded a great cold iron scythe, his prize possession. With some of the money left over after expenses Jack's father bought him his own scythe, a simple iron one, but Jack still cherished it. However his father still needed to venture out to make a living, and now the man had a death wish.
Taking the roughest jobs ultimately caused them to bring in more money, but soon enough Jack's father's time came. Two years after Jack's mother's death his father did not return on the day he said he would, nor the day after, nor the day after that. Jack was not caught off guard by this, though he knew he would miss his father he knew everyone has their time. Jack doesn't tell anyone but he is still determined to find his father's scythe.
