The westernmost tip of Kalea, Wind Reach is home to an amazing group of people and their giant eagle mounts. [Lore]

The huntress threw a critical glance over the Symenestra's new stance. It was better, a little unnatural looking but it was definitely better. It would do anyway. She crossed her arms across her chest and watched the chattering woman for a moment or two, trying to decide on an answer.
"Relax and try the stance from the beginning again. To answer your question, I've been a hunter for nearly three years now and as for hunting...I've always wanted to hunt," she explained. The last part wasn't exactly a lie. She had always wanted to hunt yes but as an Endal, not an Avora. That wasn't something that she felt like sharing though.
The next lot of conversation that came from Drusilla was surprising. The girl's mouth opened and shut as she tried to get over her shock. She shook her head as if to clear it.
"Yes... that's fine, I guess. Uh... thank you, I think," Azira mumbled, watching as the woman returned to her archery stance. She didn't know what to make of this title that the Symenestra had given her, it felt strangely formal. The teen wasn't sure if she liked it but maybe with time she'd grow used to it.

Drusilla exhaled and stretched before returning to her stance. "Ah, so a natural born hunter! Seems to be a lot of them here in Wind Reach. You're so young and so skilled, it's only a matter of time until you find your eagle. I hope you'll introduce me when you find her."
She realigned her feet, "More like this, right?" Straitening her back she took the bow in hand, preparing to mentally shoot an imaginary arrow. She breathed in clearing her mind. Her finger began to pull the string of the bow and much to her own amazement she felt it move, not enough to fire an arrow. But, more than it had moved before. She was heading in the right direction.
A smile crossed her face. Drusilla had never seen herself as anything even remotely close to a hunter (A killer...yes) but there was something to this archery. Something freeing. Like when Turrin first took her for a ride on his eagle. She had a feeling that Sibea-zira would too someday live in the clouds. |

This woman was certainly full of surprises. She was also very complimentary but she wondered if her desire to become an Endal was that obvious. Maybe it was just that everybody aspired to a position in that caste, yes that was where Drusilla was getting it from. At least the woman was optimistic that Azira would reach such a status because the huntress herself certainly didn't feel that way. The woman interrupted her thoughts with her question.
"Yeah, more like that. You've got a good stance there but you need to be able to get into it quickly and easily without really thinking about it," she explained, watching as her pupil tried to pull back the string. Her arms would be nowhere near strong enough to perform the pose repeatedly especially when arrows were brought into it but there only practice would help that.
She'd get the woman to repeat the stance a few more times before finishing up for the evening. She was too tired and she could only watch the repetitive movement so many times before she got sick of it. The woman would probably tire of the repeated motions too.
"Good, Drusilla. Drop it and do it again. You have to be able to do this without thinking, something that your body just does while your mind is focused on a target."

Drusilla took the bow and held it at her side, her body relaxed. She took a breath and closed her eyes. opening them she quickly took to her stance. The process was getting smoother. They seemed almost like dance steps to her. Drusilla relaxed once more and returned to the stance. She did this several times. Back and forth. Her muscles were beginning to protest. But she didn't care, tomorrow she would be sitting sewing away and weaving. Muscle aches wouldn't be much of a problem.
Drusilla looked over to Azira, it seemed that she was wrapping up this session. She gave her a smile, "Thank you for taking me on as a student, Sibea-zira. Symenestra never give up an opportunity to learn, it's one of the only traits I'm glad to have. I will need to size you for your dress, but that can be done at a later date. I'm not sure if you ever would...But let me know if I can ever be of help to you."
Drusilla spoke honestly, she would of never believed that an Inarta would teach her. In fact most still were uncomfortable with her living in Wind Reach. She still heard the whispers. Still felt the stares. But she couldn't blame them for acting that way, only gain their approval through hard work and dedication. |

It was tiring just standing and watching Drusilla. It shouldn't have been but sometimes you get to the stage of being so weary that everything seems tiresome. The huntress had finally reached that stage, feeling tired just looking at the moments of the Symenestra's arms. She wasn't the one holding the bow but she felt it, knew when the woman's arms were tiring either. The teen remembered the feeling well but her pupil stopped before Azira could tell her to do so.
A smile curved her lips. "You're welcome, Drusilla. It was a pleasure to teach you," she replied to the woman's thanks. She meant what she said though. It certainly hadn't been as unpleasant to teach someone as she would have thought but perhaps that was simply because she had such an eager and attentive pupil. Yes, that probably had something to do with it.
Nodding in reply to the woman's comment on taking measurements, she tried to decide if there was anything else she ought to say. "Uh okay so...practice when you can. I've no idea when we can do this again but that doesn't mean that you stop. Practice here, in your rooms, with a bow or without one, doesn't matter just practise the stance. Also am I supposed to put some sort of...honorific in front of your name like you did with mine? I don't want to seem rude by being disrespectful or something to you or your culture," she explained.

Drusilla smiled and a gave a little laugh, "No, no, no. It just a hard habit to break, especially sense my summer visit to see my Mother's grave. I grew up in a very well to do family and manners were very important. Besides I'd have to teach you the different names and what they all mean." She gave another small laugh, "I'm just Enda anyway, it's just a common term for young, unmarried women. I'll probably stay in that group for most of my life as I doubt I'll ever marry, seeing as I hate my own race and most Inarta gawk at me."
Drusilla stoped and put and hand over her mouth,"I'm sorry, I tend to ramble on and on," she confessed. |

The huntress said nothing for a moment. She knew about the way the Symenestra were born but it was still a shock to hear the other mention her mother's grave. It was true that Azira's own mother was dead but that had been through no fault of her own whereas Drusilla... The teen knew that the race killed their mother when they were born so she knew the significance of the fact that Drusilla's mother was dead. The idea of visiting a grave was also a strange concept to the girl. In Wind Reach, it didn't work that way.
"It's fine, I'll call you Enda Drusilla then. Though you never know it might change at some stage. People might stop looking at you funny," she laughed nervously, the idea that Drusilla hated her own race making her uncomfortable. She didn't know what she ought to say to that so instead she began to edge towards the door.
"Well I will see you again soon, Enda Drusilla. For now though, goodbye. I'm far too tired to stay up any longer," she explained, gathering up her gear. She made her exit, giving the woman a nod before slipping into the Inner Warrens.
