Deliver the Parcel!
Fall 50th 513 AV, 14th Bell
Location: East Quarter
Somewhere, just somewhere, Toan would discover the location he was meant to reach. The Heavy Coffers Headquarters was where this parcel was meant to be delivered, albeit Toan found the directions given for his route there rather hard to follow along with when the roads didn’t fall into description correctly. Wrong turn? Perhaps. But that wouldn’t stop him from reaching the place he needed to reach, apart from finding the subject that likely waited on the parcel that should’ve arrived by now.
Upon asking for directions he’d learned some residents referred to his destination as The Vault, rather than the mouthful of words his superior spat at him before sending him off. Woe to the man that worked hard and had to learn “everything” about the city in such manner of short time. Alas he couldn’t complain about his job now, Toan needed not just the coin but the chance to show he’d be citizen material. Only then could he start gathering his resources within the city.
Further did he delve into the reaches of the Eastern Quarter until at last a grand building came into his view, the structure similar to the given description upon his being sent to work. Now all Toan needed to do was search out the recipient, who apparently was in fact a woman this time around. The courier reached the Vault’s entrance and went deeper within as he sorted through the folk that pattered about with their business, at last he’d found a woman in a finely woven dress with frittered sleeves to show off her assets. She was reading a small worn booklet likely to pass her time, yet Toan speculated it was more of a personal diary on his behalf. With a clear of his throat Toan managed to drag the lady’s attention from the book to him, wide green eyes directed up to him as the thin and pale brunette waited to figure out who disturbed her. "Good day my lady, your package has arrived."
"Slower than usual. You must be new to the bureau lest it’d have arrived nearly a bell ago." She remarked with a scowl as she took the small package and held it close, she gave Toan a look down her nose as she rose to her feet. "Thank you for the service, now good day." She shuffled off to attend whatever business she had without even looking back, which sort of disappointed Toan now that she’d been gone. He’d thought to take the chance to get to know her better, but it was apparent she’d likely be someone he didn’t want to know. With the shrug of his shoulders he admitted to himself another job done, and went on to the exit to continue his courier duties as best as he could.
