Basic Information Race: Human Birthday & Age : 24, Born 7th of Fall, 488AV Gender: Male Physical Description Marcus stands at roughly 5'10" tall and has an athletic built that is neither slim nor muscular. His arm muscles are more toned then other muscles due to the nature of his work, being a weaponsmith. The occasional scar also adorns Marcus' arms as accidents do happen in the workplace. He has brown hair which he keep short and unkept by preference. The shade of his eyes fluctuates between a light blue and a pale blue, almost grey. His clothing is that of a simple commoner, a white cotton shirt, which is long sleeved, along with brown trousers and leather boots. When the weather calls for it he also wears a dark colored cloak to shield him from the cold. Character Concept Growing up with stories of adventure has turned Marcus into a dreamer. He dreams and wishes that one day he could be one of the heroes from one of the books he has read. His dreams will sometimes make Marcus cocky, perhaps trying to reinvent something he read in real life which leads to him getting or hurt or simply failing. Marcus likes to joke around a bit and can turn fairly sarcastic and blunt, although it is all in good humor. Marcus' morals and principles match those of most good natured men. He is loyal to his friends and superiors, but isn't afraid to speak his mind on matters that concern him. When aggravated or confronted with violence, Marcus will draw his weapon and respond with violence. Marcus enjoys his work as a weaponsmith as he loves the fact that he is capable of creating something as elaborate as a weapon from simple scraps of metal. He takes a lot of pride in that fact. Marcus also enjoys a good spar, as he wants to better himself in the use of swords to prepare to join the Syliran Knights. When it comes to dislikes, the cold is definitely in one of the top spots. Working by the fire all day certainly makes a snowstorm hit you like a brick. He also hates those who are too lazy to resort to honest work and instead pray off the innocent, whether it be begging or thievery. Character History Marcus was born and raised in Ravok. His father was a weaponsmith while his mother was responsible for keeping Marcus and his brother under control during their childhood. When Marcus turned 13 he began to apprentice for his father. He learned all the basics of smithing as well as a few extra tricks of the trade. Not only did he learn weaponsmithing while apprenticing but he also learned the basics of buying and selling goods like the merchants who visited the town during the warmer months. When Marcus was 17 his father passed away of natural causes at the age of 61. Marcus managed to run the shop until his younger brother was able to take over. During his time at the shop, Marcus had taken up a specialty in crafting swords. He also continued to practice with these swords by sparring with his brother. By the time Marcus was 21 his brother, who was 19, had taken over the shop with the help of his mother, and Marcus had planned to leave for Syliras. He planned to continue his weaponsmithing there as well as try and join the Syliran Knights. He had always dreamed of becoming a hero from one of the stories, and he decided to take advantage of an opportunity. When he arrived at the great city, when he was 22, he quickly found himself a small castle suite inside the cities walls and bought it. Soon after he managed to get a job at the Ironworks in Syliras as a smith there. During his initial time in Syliras he managed to establish an income and meet a few friends. He even met a knight who was going to get him a meeting with the grandmaster of the Knights. However, one day before the meeting, Marcus found himself snatched up by a group of rogues who had rejected city life and made the forest their home. The winter of 510AV was a brutal one for Marcus. In early spring Marcus managed to hatch an escape and return back to Syliras. But it was not at the cost of the merchant who had been kind enough to give him a ride back to Syliras. Once in Syliras again, he found himself weaponsmithing at the Ironworks again. But this time he had no interest in joining the knights. A new "dream" had clouded his mind, a dream of revenge. These thoughts clouded his mind until fall of 511. A young squire by the name of Sighard had caught Marcus in the Ironworks "practicing" with a sword, and invited him to spar. During the fight, Marcus realized a few things and rediscovered his passion and drive, thanks to Sighard bringing his head out of the clouds. He once again found himself looking to join the knights as he originally intended.
*All weapons and armor are on loan from the Syliran Knights.
