Ella Wakefield Appearance Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 19 Birthday: Spring, 5th, 494 AV Birthplace: Zeltiva Appearance Ella is shorter than many, with a slight pear shape due to her small shoulders and unnoticeable bosom. Her jet black hair is neatly unkempt, reaching just below her shoulders with one half of her face almost always covered by a long bang. When one could catch a glimpse of her eyes, they would notice that they are a dusty blue-gray, almost always appearing to be in deep thought. Ella's unblemished light skin is softer than many, her hands and limbs never needed for physical labor. It would be a stretch to call her physically fit. Her limbs, while slim, do not show any tone or scars. Her fingernails are bitten to tiny stubs, out of nervousness and nasty habit. Character Concept The first thing many people notice able Ella is that she was there in the first place, and had been there for ten minutes. A quiet bookworm, she prefers the company of her books rather than the company of people. It is easy for her to get lost in the world between the pages, and it is only the desire to apply the things she learns to the real world that keeps her from staying in there forever. A curious girl, she enjoys seeing situations out of the norm and will constantly take notes about the world around her. However, she dislikes the 'nature' part of 'nature' and is still getting used to the idea of unsafe and uncomfortable situations. When confronted with these sorts of things, Ella will grow quiet and distant, avoiding eye contact and mumbling if asked a question or a task. There is a part of her trying to change this, though, and often will force herself to speak. She often wonders about the future and what it holds, getting lost in thought more often than not. Ella thinks before she acts, preferring to weigh the consequences than act right away. This makes quick reaction situations a formidable opponent to her, causing her to panic and flee to think if possible. Social encounters count as uncomfortable situations in her mind. In large crowds, she tends to slink to the side, being unnoticed by many due to her small stature and soft voice. However, this is something considered enjoyable by her, as observing people in their 'normal habitat' has lent her to see things most people don't see about the world around them. While young, Ella is a practitioner of magic and constantly thinks about different ways to apply the skills she's learned to unique uses. Her talents are often learned from a mixture of observation, books, and self-teaching, but when she must learn from other people, her eagerness throws away most inhibitions. Beliefs Ella believes that people can be redeemed if they simply try or someone helps them. While she won't go as far as talk to a thief in an alleyway about redemption, she will try and help those who ask. This, along with her late-night studies and constant daydreaming, has made her primary deity of worship Leth. Other gods she respects include but are not limited to are Syna, Laviku, and Qalaya.

Character History Pre-Creation/Winter 513 The second child of a Reimancy professor and a sea merchant's daughter, Ella lived a fairly normal childhood. While her brother preferred the world of the ocean and adventure, she would spend her days in the library. In her youth, she slowly picked up the arts of Auristics and Shielding, learning bits and pieces from books and her father. Her goal was to become a Reimancer, like her father, but one day surpassing him and become world-renowned for her feats. Things began to change when she turned 15. Her brother, four years her senior, disappeared to become a sailor on Laviku's seas, occasionally visiting to say hello. As her auristics skills began to improve, she experienced her first major Overgiving, gaining a massive headache and realizing the dangers of magic. And, perhaps the biggest and hardest blow, was her father's sudden insanity. One morning, a fellow professor discovered her father, incoherently babbling with his eyes on fire, Djed constantly pouring out to feed the white flames. While caught fairly early, he was thrown into the Scholar's Asylum, still raving mad about nonsense and trying to lit himself on fire. This was a harsh blow to young Ella, as she was told she would be initiated to Reimancy but did not realize the dangers of insanity that came with it. While her magical progression halted for a few years, she began to realize that her father would have preferred she kept on going. After all, magic had it's risks. In her eighteenth year she enrolled in the University, and is hoping to become her childhood dream and, perhaps, find a way to reverse her father's insanity.
