Kuvan Citizenship Form

Name: Caelum.
Race: Ethaefal.
Age: 10 years since fall.
Competency In: Unarmed Combat.
Employment: Healer at the Sanctuary.
Expected Stay In Riverfall: Permanent resident.

The ethaefal stood with an air of easy patience while waiting for Malin to finish chatting with the pretty lady ahead of Caelum. He stood hipshot in a slab of sunlight from the windows, one hand in the sagging pocket of his leather riding trousers and golden eyes lowered to the painstakingly neat scrawl of his handwriting filling out the citizenship application. The red in his hair autumn had left like maple leaves was fading rapidly into a pale, golden brown while his golden horns were twisting in hue to something reminiscent of pine needles. He was an odd a site in this office as he was anywhere else, keeping his head down and strong, lean shoulders comfortably slouched as if, perhaps, by doing so he could put a buffer between him and the attention of others.

He had spent nearly a whole season working toward making himself worthy to become a citizen of Riverfall, at once training his body as well as learning the dual nature of this majestic city. He understood it so much better now than he had before, though he was not foolish enough to imagine that he comprehended it perfectly, nor the race that inhabited it.

Malix finally took over from his lighter brother to finish up with the lady and gestured Caelum forward, eyebrows rising with reserved surprise. He held out his hand for the form that Caelum, with a quick, wry smile, quickly provided.

“I would like to apply for citizenship,” he explained in mellow tones.

It was impossible that the Akalak understood how incredibly important this day was to Caelum, but then it was likely no one did.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Oworo Birdflight on December 9th, 2013, 2:32 pm

1st day of Winter, 513 AV
8th Bell

Oworo had seen the Office building once prior to today, when he was paraded into the city half a season ago, as a captive rescued by the vile Zith. Then, he hadn't been worried about finding a home or securing a job; he cared only for his life, specifically how the Akalak were going to handle his life. Slave or free held his focus, not white or blue sheets on his canopy bed. Yet as the jewel in the far distance shifted from Red to Blue, he had finally been gifted with the chance to worry about other things.

Thus explains his early morning visit to the establishment.

Oworo scanned the interior of the building upon entry, mapping out the area; he had an innate tendency to do such things. He noted the bulletin board off the left, with various slips of parchment stuck on the wall. Paper didn't converse as well to Oworo, though, as people, since he had never been taught to read. So he forwent the help wanted posters for the Akalak sitting behind the desk stacked high with papers. Thankfully, at such an early hour, no one else was there to impede his progress. He simply walked right up to the desk, greeting the man in Pavi.
"Greetings."

"Are you here for a job, for citizenship, or for both?" was the man's quiet response in the Drykan language. At least the conversation will be easy enough.

Originally, Oworo had came here for a job, as well as housing; he didn't know how much he could hold in the city without either. But citizenship certainly would help too, in the long run.
"Both, and housing too" was his response.

The Akalak nodded, and handed Oworo several slips of paper, along with a vial of ink and a quill; he didn't speak, as he assumed it was common sense to the man that he was meant to fill them out and return them to the desk. Oworo just stared blankly at them, though, for several ticks, before shaking his head and returning them.
"I cannot, sir, for I cannot read nor write. My people have never seen a need for either."

The Akalak looked at him for a second, and then nodded. "My apologies, sir. How about you just give me the information in words, and I'll record them?"

Oworo nodded in return, and then the two went through a series of question and answer, until all of the papers were filled out.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Morgana on December 11th, 2013, 4:56 am

2nd day of Winter 513

Morgana approached the building with her usual aura of confidence. Her eyes sparkled and her mouth was pulled up into a grin as she turned to look at her sister "What d'ya think 'llow? Will they like me?" Willow's tiny hands closed around the fabric of her skirt-like pants as she looked up at her and smiled reassuringly. Morgana patted her on the head "Thanks, kid. Lets go"

With that, the svefra strides through the doors of the employment agency, practicing what little Tukant she knew inside her head. She hoped most of them knew common as well, otherwise she might be a little sunk. Taking a moment to look at her surroundings, Morgana walked up to the desk to greet the green Akalak there. "Greetings" She said, in Tukant "I'm trying to find casual employment." She winced slightly at how badly she was pronouncing the words. Hopefully he understood her.

Luckily he seemed to understand, and handed her a form. Morgana grinned "Thanks, friend" She said in common. She turned her attention to the neat little form and filled it out carefully, and with some thought.

Name: Morgana Dreamcatcher
Race: Human, Svefra
Age: 20yo
Relevant Skills: Acrobatics, Sailing, Swimming, Fishing
Preferred Employment: I'm not fussy. I'm good with people, so I'd enjoy being a barmaid. I could also entertain a crowd with my acrobatics, you know, walking on my hands, juggling things ect. Otherwise, I would enjoy anything on a ship. I could be a fisherwoman. Any of those things.
Expected Stay In Riverfall:I'll be staying for at least two seasons.

Juriya quietly made her way into the building and glanced about warily as she took in the size of the room and the stairs leading up and the bulletin board as well. Once she felt she had a decent enough lay of the room to feel comfortable she approached the desk and stared at the large blue man. He spoke from his little script and she promptly replied, "Job." When he handed her the parchment she moved to the wrap around desk and huddled over the form, grabbing a pen and eyeing it carefully, doing her best to figure out the proper way of writing her responses down.

Finally she felt confident the form was well enough written anyone could read it without confusion as to a way she drew a letter or wrote a word. With out making much noise she stood up and set the slip of paper on the Akalak's desk and slid it across the glossy surface towards the male. As her finger left the paper she remained silent and stared at the one behind the desk with expectant, golden eyes.

Name: Juriya
Race: Kelvic
Age: 1 year
Relevant Skills: Unarmed Combat, Hunting, Wilderness Survival.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Palla Frostfawn on December 23rd, 2013, 5:53 am

Palla had been thinking, and she decided that she wanted to become a citizen. She liked Riverfall, and wished to stay there. There was no point in putting it off. Palla walked into the offices, admiring the architecture. She enjoyed so many things about Riverfall, and was sure applying for citizenship was the right thing to do.

She was pretty nervous, as she had never done something like this before. What if I mess up? I hope they accept me to be a citizen. "H-Hello, I'm wanting to become a citizen of Riverfall" Today, Malin was at the helm. He just glanced at Palla and handed her the form she would need. "Please fill out the following"

That wasn't so bad. Palla thought, relieved. Actually, that was pretty easy! Palla unstoppered a vial of ink on the desk, and dipped a quill into it. She filled out the form slowly and carefully, to be sure it was legible. After looking over it for mistakes again and again, Palla handed it back.

23rd Day of Winter, 513

Kali tightened her cloak around her, thin fingers stinging from the cold. Winter in Riverfall was harsh, the snow piled up as if it were aiming to touch the sky. She gulped in a lungful of harsh, cold air before pushing open the heavy, waxed doors and hurrying inside, into the warmth. She wasted no time in approaching the desk, the Akalak patiently waiting her arrival before asking his question.

"A job." Kali's blue eyes ran down the male before her, taking in his appearance before skimming over the paperwork surrounding him. "Please," She added as she re-established eye contact, attempting to be polite.

"Please fill out the following..." The brunette nodded and took the paper he slid towards her before seating herself at the wrap-around desk. She read over the form once before filling it in with careful strokes.

She hesitated when it was time to fill out the "relevant skills" section of the form. Surely there was some work for her out there? Even with her...unnecessary skills.

Name: Kaliel
Race: Human
Age: 20
Relevant Skills: Competent in shortbow weaponry and Bowing/fletching, and a novice hunter
Preferred Employment: No preference
Expected Stay In Riverfall: Many seasons

Once completed she returned the form to the Akalak, fingers fidgeting with nerves. What if they couldn't find something for her?

And when I loose my arrow, please guide it swift and true.

7th of Winter, 513

Who loves to spend money? Orabelle Deepseeker. Who didn't have any money? The same girl who loves to spend money. She walked in scanned the room. Her cheeks were cold and a rose red. Her fingers were crushed together and her whole body shivered. Her cloak, which was a very lovely green, did not do so good in winter. She needed a new cloak. Heck, she needed a whole new winter wardrobe.

Orabelle rushed towards the desk like her life depended on it, which it kinda did."Hello, I need a job application." Orabelle's voice was low and more of a whisper. The Akalak wasted no time looking up at Orabelle, he quickly grabbed a sheet of paper that asked Orabelle all the appropriate questions for her to get a job. She carefully looked at it before filling it out.

Name: Orabelle Deepseeker
Race: Mixed Blood (Ephyrian and Svefra)
Age: 23
Relevant Skills: Cosmetology (Competent), Sailing (novice), Swimming(novice)
Preferred Employment: I would really love to work in a salon but it's whatever I can get.
Expected Stay In Riverfall: A full year.

[Riverfall] The Citizenship, Housing, and Labor Aid Office

Postby Regulus on January 8th, 2014, 4:39 am

After over a year of laying low in his humble shack, finally Regulus had been able to regain enough of his martial prowess to become an official citizen of Riverfall.

Until now, he had been playing his harp on the streetside, scrounging for spare change. It had taken him a year to save up enough for a spear and shield to train with. He wasn't bad for having no practice in over 1300 years, but he was not competent enough to apply for citizenship. Until now, that is. It was a miracle that the citizens of the city weren't lining up with torches to kick him out of town by now.

Perhaps they're afraid to try, the gigantic Ethaefal thought with a smirk as he entered the Labor Aid office.

The Akalak behind the counter looked up slowly, his face showing his mild distaste at being disturbed from his reading.

"Citizenship or job?" he asked disinterestedly.

"Both," Regulus replied, his tone of voice showing his distaste for the man's demeanor.

"Fill these out," he droned as he slid forward a pen and two sheets of paper.

"...And housing as wel--"

Regulus was cut off by the noise of a third form being slid sharply towards him as the Akalak went back to his reading.

Regulus picked the forms up hurriedly, eager to gain true citizenship in his adopted home. He filled them out quickly and without hesitation, sliding them coolly back the the accountant, and taking a seat in the corner to await his results. He was in no rush. He had all the time in the world.
