When he refused her Anna felt rather than knew that the creeping madness was coming to the forefront, her own mind starting to argue in on itself. Insanity was certainly doing Anna no favors, especially when it could be triggered by slights to her pride or even paranoid delusions. Maelstrom was right, she was mad, but that didn't normally bother her. It felt liberating to be mad, constantly jumping between seeming sanity and utter insanity.

In response to the man's refusal Anna calmly placed the piece of metal on the ground and stepped closer to the slave, moving just out of reach of that hammer. Her grey eyes were slightly glazed over and her smile was a little more lopsided. The heat still bothered her but somethings couldn't be dealt with immediately.

"Move or look away, and I'll grind your bones into the walls and smear your blood on the ground." She said, giggling a little uneasily at the end.

Anna focused more Djed under the palms of her hands, willing it to move outwards. A translucent purple liquid took shape, drawing an unconcealed moan of bliss from her lips. The fog casting bliss washed away the terrible heat and replaced it with pleasure, though it was slightly more tiring for her earlier casting. Regardless Anna willed the liquid quickly sheathing her right hand out, leaving the one on her left shimmering closely to Osd.

The res took the shape of a hammer head larger than Osd's and from here she clenched the fist of her right hand, signaling the transmutation. A sigh of bliss escaped her lips as the liquid hardened and condensed, the majority of the outer layered becoming smooth stone and the inner layer staying res to grant her total control. With a gesture of her finger she willed the hammer head to rise up above the piece of metal and slam down hard.

It hit the metal scrap, causing some of its own surface to crumble but the metal to twist even further. The important thing Anna noted was that it utterly destroyed her shield, what a pity. It was a weak discipline anyway though, no match for reimancy, oh no. She gestured up again and willed the hammer to slam down again, and again, and again. It kept continuing the motion until it was utterly broken and crumbled away, the metal bent and beaten.

"Reimancy, manipulation of the natural elements, its beautiful isn't it? So destructive and fun to use. A master of it is a master of the natural world, don't you think?" She said, the question rhetorical.

The res that was in the center was spilt up, three ball of res hovering to move in front of Osd and shaping to her will. They looked much more spike like now and the res around her left hand moved to find his feet, hoping his attention was still on the liquid spikes in front of him. The Res moving to his feet rose up and took the shape of hands wrapping around something, a trick she'd had Maelstrom use to immobilize her. She willed both it and the spikes to condense and transmute, broken giggles ripped from her throat.

"I've always wanted to kill a slave you know. Been something of a fantasy of mine actually, Osd Messer. Really I just needed a reason to do it, so thank you for volunteering to be the first." She said, stepping away and willing the earthen spikes to speed towards him.

They stopped abruptly though, as did her mad giggles as she seemed to consider something. Her grey eyes were narrowed slightly, as though something annoying had come to mind. The spikes simply hovered there in the air, her thoughts consumed in whatever her madness embroiled mind seemed to go through.

"No, no, no, I can't kill him yet. Petching little Shyke! I still need those metal balls, and the Citadel might not like me killing their little toy outright. Besides they might be listening." The woman said aloud, looking rather like she was pouting.

The spikes moved away, a flick of her wrists sending them off into the lava and another shattering the hands binding the slave to the floor. She glared at him as though he was at fault for something, completely ignoring any trauma she might have inflicted. Clearly her mood had completely turned around.

"Hmm... I can't kill you yet, a pity I would have been interesting to see just how effectively those spikes could kill. Oh well, maybe next time. Maybe the Dungeons would be a better place for that... no, then she might see it and that would take the fun away. She can't see it, not yet, not until I make her see." She said, talking as much to herself as him.

"Oh, and our original deal still stands. If I return on the 15th and find you don't have my order I'll fill your lungs with fire and cook you from the inside out. Maybe feed to you to the prisoners in the Dungeons, sure they could use a good meal." She said, eyeing him and standing with her arms crossed to make sure he got the message perfectly clear.

She drew herself up to her full height, standing tall and arrogant and her eyes flashing with instability. She wanted him to be afraid, to be cowed and scared. At the same time she didn't want that, subtlety would have been preferred in manipulation but threats and intimidation worked just as well. His opinion hardly mattered, as long as he finished her order she'd be happy and as long as she was happy there were less likelihoods of fire flying everywhere.

OOCFirst off, there was no way for either of you to know this little tid bit before now because the location is not written up, so don't worry no rules are broken lol. This should liven the story up ever so slightly ^.^

There was a rumble from behind Anna, and then a cold metallic voice was heard echoing in the chamber, "Hostile Magic Detected. Engaging intervention protocol."

To the side within a pool of collected lava a shape began to rise, liquidize rock rolling off its body like water. From another pool another shape began to rise, and then another, and another. The ground shook as something large was dropped on the ground, and each of the golems rose from their fiery resting places. Each one was ten feet tall, roughly humanoid in shape with large, though short, legs with wide circular feet. Their bodies were triangular, four arms on either side holding strange hooked swords each wider than Anna's waist. Glyphs covered their chests, running up their arms, over their weapons, and their metallic surface shimmered with magic. The four golems took their places around Osd and Anna, blocking the exit. Two of their arms extended, creating a cage to keep both Anna and Osd in place, while their other two limbs leveled clearly magical blades at Anna.

"Hostile Magic is forbidden within the Yachluria Forge. All who break this law are to be executed, as decreed by the Archwizard and the Council of Five." The golems all spoke at once, loud though not so much that it could drown out the sounds of the forge itself. The other workers in this area did not even look up from their work. For those that worked here this simple law was a way of life. Within the Forge they were safe. No violent acts could be taken against the slaves and workers here, and no matter their rank any Wizard who did was immediately sentenced to execution. The lag between the act of violence and the Sentinels appearance, however, often ensured that they person would die before they were able to save him, but at the very least the one responsible would be killed as well. This was a very weak bit of safety, but on Sahova something such as this was the greatest of luxuries.

OOCOK! Staring with Osd, then Anna, and when it's my turn again I will wrap things up and get out of your hair so you can finish up the thread yourselves ^.^

When osd saw the wizard go of their rocker he just kept quiet, the ranting and raving eventually could just devolve into violence. Osd knew what was going to happen next. He had been living here for six years already. He just hoped that he managed to get out of this alive. Most wizards decided that as soon as the sentinels showed up they could just kill the person they wanted to murder.

And show up they did, out of the hot lava the magical golom's rose. Blocking of both of their escape routes, he didn't try to get out of the cage of swords. The peacekeepers had a notorious difficultiy with telling friend from foe. And these golom's were probably just as old, if not older then those. They just might have the same problem. No reason in setting them of earlier.

“Seems like you never cared to learn the laws of the forge.” Osd said in the calmest tone he could manage, putting as much distance between him and the insane wizard as he could manage within the cage of swords from the goloms. “Big mistake.” Maybe so would he, if one of the golom's made a wrong move or she decided to take him with her. That let something snarl inside him. Just because of that stupid broad's issues he was in this mess, all because of her and he just wanted to take his hammer and splatter her brains all over the floor. He gritted his teeth, controlling his temper. Whatever the cause, at least he took solace in the fact that even if he died, that arrogant mess of a woman was going to die as well. A tiny smile came on his face, he just hoped he would be still alive when she was crying for mercy before the golom's killed her. That broad deserved it.

oocI don't think osd could try to get out of the cage of swords before hell breaks lose can he? :P

Of the many consequences of her actions thus far Anna hadn't expected a quartet of golems to rise from the lava, nor had she thought he reimancy would be detected. As they surrounded her she observed that they were massive, their blades alone could likely carve her cleanly in half. Glyphs adorned their bodies, no doubt prepared to unleash a deadly volley of death upon their intended target which was unfortunately her at the moment.

Well... petch me.

An understatement if ever their was one, seems like she'd broken quite the large law here. A consolation here was that Osd was also trapped so hopefully, whatever damage they did to her would be dealt to him. She would rather not die without having another die with her, would be rather embarrassing. As it stood the situation was a little bleak, even in her maddened state she could see that. So what was her response to this?

Nothing. She simply stared at one of the golems, standing right where she was and not making a single movement. No res was drawn, no curses were slung, no escape attempts from the cage set up around her. If they could withstand lava Anna had no illusions, even maddened that her magic could effect the constructs. If it were Maelstrom these golems would likely be scrap, but Anna was not the master of reimancy, not yet anyway. So she kept a level head and remained as calm as she could.

Besides she was not going to beg for her life like some petching worm, if she was going to die she wasn't going to degrade herself. On an unrelated note Anna added the Masters of Lab 15 to her mental list of people she now hated, by proxy they were the ones threatening her life at the moment. It was a shame that of she died she'd never be able to repay that debt, actually dying would be a gross inconvenience at the moment. Still she made certain to take no further hostile actions. However she did smile up at the unfeeling automaton, a few chuckles bubbling up from her stomach.

"You know something, golem? Your actually doing someone else's job for them, ironic that. Its pretty funny, a joke if you will. I spend all this time fighting to live and my own action kills me! Over a worthless little insect too, a speck beneath my notice! Isn't that hilarious? Oh, I forgot you can't laugh. Pity." She said, as much to herself as the golem.

If she actually did try to fight the end result would be the same, even if by some miracle she made it out of the Forge she'd likely be hunted down and killed at best for destroying a golem. Her reserves of Djed were enough for a few big spells, lightning was the only thing that might work. However she was also surrounded, so even as she fought one the others would kill her. A no win situation there.

Oh, Osd, I do hope one of the projectiles hits you. Would be a pity to die alone, though either way its still a funny joke you see? No, of course you don't. The joke you see is Sahova itself. Funny right?" She called back, another giggle torn from her throat.

There were a lot of scenarios were she envisioned her own death, sacrificing herself for the glory of Rhysol, killing hundreds of enemies, maybe during an experiment but this was a little embarrassing. Funny yes, but embarrassing to any budding Wizard. If she had known this was going to happen she would have done a number of things to amuse herself. Gotten a last petch in with someone, killed Daren, filled Amaryllis' office with lava after cursing all the bodies in the Palsa Hydrasa. Unfortunately what she had now was death at the unfeeling weapons of automata, with the cold satisfaction that Osd was probably going to die with her.

If she did manage to make it out of this... she was still going to kill someone, but she promised to make it quick. As well as suitably ironic.

Let's see, push a Voider in his own portal, Animator killed by own golem, Reimancer drowned on the docks. A blacksmith's face shoved into his own forge... Hmm... will need to think of better deaths for the others.

OOCUnexpected, though certainly not unwelcome by any means! Does Anna learn her lesson though? Nooo, still plots right on about violence. :p

The two golems closest to Anna raised their weapons, both preparing to strike despite whatever words Anna spoke. Just as they were about to start the first, and final, blow someone snapped their fingers. The sound was unusually loud, almost magically so, and the golems responded to it after a few ticks to process what the sound commanded. Then, as one, they all lowered their weapons, returning to the pools of Lava from whence they came, disappearing below the bubbling surface as if they were never there.

On one of the higher levels, close to a lava fall, a man stood over his anvil, hammer still clutched in his right hand. His left arm was obsidian black, blue veins marked his naked, sweat covered upper body, and he toweled off his forhead with a bit of cloth that wrapped around his neck. He was of course an Isur, and the gaze he leveled at Anna was an odd one. He looked her up and down, raising one eyebrow before returning to his work. Osd might recognize him as a man who came down to the forge from time to time to do his own work. He never wore any sign of his office, no rings on his fingers, or anything else that could identify himself. He never even mentioned his name. He just came, created beautiful works of craftmanship, and left. The threat for now had passed, but on Sahova that did not mean that one was actually safe.

OOCSorry for the late reply! That is my last post I will let you two finish up this thread and prepare for a follow up for Anna to collect her goodies ^.^

Osd couldn't help but facepalm as the woman began to rant against the golom's. telling it how it was funny and how it was doing somebody elses work for him. Of course it was, that was the entire bloody point of making golems! She was absolutely cracked. Completely nuts, if that was how every wizard ended up eventually he was more then glad that he kept away from magic!

As a loud snap echoed through the forge Osd felt a bit conflicted. On one hand, the golem's hadn't killed him and went back to sleep. Something he hadn't seen happening ever in the six years he had been working in the forge. Every single other time that the golems had been awakenend it always ended with the messy death of the aggressor. The fact that somebody cared enough to call the golems off to save this miserable woman's life irked him. Of course the insane woman had people looking out for her, fixing up her own stupid mistakes. Now his life had become a whole lot harder because the stupid broad was still hanging around and actually knew who he was. Probably had a grudge against him as well.

He didn't wonder who that man was, it was none of his business and stuffing your nose in other people's bussines was just seeking out trouble and trouble usually found you in sahova even when you weren't looking for it.

"Seems like you're in that guy's debt. Whoever he is." He said in a slightly shaking voice. He doubted that the woman would be stupid enough to set the golems again. So at least he was safe. Though he probably should stay in the forge for the next few years at the very least, just to make sure he wasn't without protection when he ran into that particular insane wizard again.

the entire debacle with the golems over. He picked up the hammer he had dropped again and went back to work. Almost dying or not, work wasn't going to do itself.

"I'll get you the balls before the 15th. Come back then."

Anna was ashamed to admit she had flinched as the golem's raised the weapons, resisting the strong fearful urge to draw res out of her body. 'Twas a pity for the story to end here, the monster slain at the blades of unfeeling automata. Such was the fickle nature of life unfortunately, just as a mortal was about to realize her potential her life was snuffed out. A shame... oh petch it who was she kidding, scrap metal time.

Just as she was preparing to attempt res generation however a loud snap sounded through the air of the Forge. A few ticks later the golems were moving off, apparently their orders overridden. Anna relaxed slightly as her would be executioners moved off, her grey eyes following the source of the snap. A man with a black arm was looking directly at her, his gaze odd as was his clearly inhuman origins. The fog of insanity was cleared slightly as the well oiled gears of her paranoid mind started turning, the implications of this act not lost on her. The biggest question was, why the man had bothered to correct her mistake?

The sorceress stared at him for a good chime, his existence here and the obvious power he possessed to dismiss those golems not lost on her. Nor was the debt Osd mentioned her owing him, a dangerous thing in Sahova. What use did he have in mind that he had saved her from the claws of death? Anna was certain that she'd meet this man before long, no doubt about it though what side of the board he was on was unknown at the moment.

The servant of Rhysol regarded Osd again, her homicidal rage having tempered into minor annoyance. She wasn't going to murder him, not yet anyway and certainly not inside the Forge. Her madness concealed once more she nodded, her gaze turning again to that mystery man. Oh, yes she was going to return, though it was not just the balls that interested her now rather it was someone else. Her interest was normally a rather poor thing to gain, considering her low mental heath and her objectives.

"Very well, the 15th then. Until then Mr. Messer, I bid you farewell." She said in parting.

If anything today was something of a lesson, she could never allow this insanity to impede Rhysol's needs. His goals came first and foremost, the insanity was to serve him. She couldn't control it but she could sure as petch direct it or channel it. Her Divine Lord had her as his agent on Sahova, at least the only one she knew of. It was her duty to serve him, for no one else appeared to do so in Sahova. Nothing else came first, not ever.
