Appearance: The coiled strength of the Dhani is expressed in Ajiv more in languorous spirals than tight springs: he is rather louche in his demeanour. 6'2" and with broad robust bones, he occupies space with his sweeping leisurely motions. Though at first his manner seems to suggest an affected ennui, his speech and actions are fizzing with dense emotion that twines around his words rather than bursting staccato within them. The lustrous dark brown of tilled fertile soil is reflected in his skin and his hair is black and full as the sky on a sweltering summer night. He grows it long, but binds it tightly behind his head. He is prone to light and bright dress: cornflower blue, white linens or bloody scarlet.

As a snake, he stretches some 40 feet, a dense green that seems almost to have an oil-like shimmer of rainbow colours across it. His head is fairly broad and though in general he mimics the slow coils of his human movement, he is perhaps more prone to bursts of relative speed when in this shape.

Character Concept

Ajiv is not a member of the most elite line within the Rajor family: indeed, he does not even bare the name of their central matriarch, instead inheriting Aspahassa from his mother Rajoraspahassa. Owed to the importance of family in Kenash, he styles himself as Aspahassajiv Rajor outside of Smokesend in order to signal his affiliation with the family.

He is further distanced from the central family he is not quite so engaged in the physical activities that are both art and status in Dhani culture. This is not owed to active rejection of them, as the desire for physical expression runs deep in every Dhani, but rather because he has been distracted with magical pursuits. Having learnt the art of Spiritism from a Drykas slave of the family and having largely discovered Shielding on his own, Ajiv is now setting up his business as a Spiritist in the fertile grounds of Kenash and its surrounding plantations.

Heirloom: A poleaxe belonging to his grandfather. The head is fairly complex: a spiked hammer on one side, with a curved back spike. There is also a topspike protruding from the top. There are two sidespikes perpendicular to the hammer and backspike. There is a small round handguard about two feet below the head, and a buttspike that is shorter than the headspike. It resembles this, but with a backspike rather than an axe.

House: A well-appointed suite in the Smokesend Plantation, with a large fireplace in white plaster with some relatively simple pastoral ornamentation. A large well-made dominates the room. On the same wall as the fireplace is a chest of drawers, and on the adjacent wall is a desk with chair.
