NPC Knights
Mona Reeves
Name: Mona Reeves Rank: Knight, Gray Company, 1st Regiment, Gold Quadron Race: Human DoB: Spring 13, 450 AV Gnosis: 1 Sylir Skills: 50 Kite Shield, 45 Longsword, 40 Longbow, 35 Horse Riding Mona Reeves is a dedicated Knight with a rather unusual nickname amongst the other Knights. She's known as the 'Squire Eater,' and for good reason. She is especially good at finding people with a lot of potential at joining the Knights. Her favorite method is to force her current squire, usually the newest, to challenge someone who has caught her eye, to combat, which she bets on. If the prospect loses, they become her squire, if they win, she badgers them until they become her squire. None have ever successfully refused her once she's selected them. Mona Reeves is not of the names of the noble families of Syliras, but she is a third generation Knight. At a young age, she was able to best her older brothers in combat, and occasionally her father. She was constantly able to find those stronger than her, then challenge them, often daily, until she was able to beat them. She squired for the only man she wasn't able to beat, and several years later, she finally did. And that was when she was given her Knighting Quest, which she completed with relative ease. In modern times, she serves as an older mentor to many Knights, but especially squires. Even in her aging form, beating her in combat is rare for squires. She can still often be found wandering the town, looking for prospects, not just for herself, but for any Knight. Receiving a training lesson is often considered a rite of passage for many a squire, and she's something of an urban legend, as many tall tales of false feats have been born from the squires' loose lips. Name:Natasha Druva Race: Human but with trace Drykas lineage. DoB:483 A.V. in the 56th of summer. PoB:Syliras Title:Knight Skills:Longsword: 63, Dagger: 57, Horsemanship: 47, Riding: 54, Unarmed : 49, Teaching: 46, Shield: 40, Short bow: 35, Philosophy: 34, Wilderness Survival: 30, Observation: 25. Gnosis: 1 Sylir Additional Info: Natasha was born as part of the Drova lineage, one of the founding families that formed what eventually became the Syliran knights. As one would expect from being born into the knights, their influence rubbed off on her from a very early age. Her parents, being high ranked knights, meant as a young child she had many sponsors, most being of the firswinged families themselves. As such a little bit of each family was embedded in her, however in her childhood the family that imparted the most wisdom into her as a page were of the Stalinsa family, the firstwing family whose members were often skilled swordsman and guards. Her time spent with that family sparked an innate desire to master the longsword. Of course, not being an actual Stalinsa means meant that the skill would take longer as she had none of the natural affinity some of the other Stalinsa members seemed to have inherited, however, for another virtue embedded into the knights were patience and persistence. After her coming of age and stepping into the role of a squire, her patron was a knight descending from the Brock family line. From that knight she had learned most of her skills, but most importantly a skill that connected with her Drykas heritage, horsemanship. As known throughout Mizahar the Drykas were not only natural hunters as the Drova blood showed, but they were known riders who formed a special bond with their horses. For years she cultivated her skills, those taught to her and those that seemed to come naturally to the Drova lineage. And finally, the time came, the time for her knightly quest. As she sat beside the Windoak dressed in the simple garb that was ceremonious for all who would visit it. She lied there, spoke to the tree waiting for a response, soon closed her eyes and inadvertently slept as she waited. At that time the dream came, the vision detailing her quest. It seemed simple really, it had her traveling with a family and protecting them from… but where it began and where it ended meant it was long and treacherous . For it began in Yaheba and would end back into the comforting embrace of Syliras. And while the completion of the quest was important, the journey was even more so. For as long as lasted, perhaps half the year more or less, she had learned things about herself and about she lived in. She found experience in applying all the skills she had learned and she learned more in the process. And on the journey back, protecting the family had taught her faith, a faith that was present long before she had left Syliras. Her faith in Yahal ignited like a wild flame, so strong was it instilled to her that once she returned successfully completing her quest; she affectionately referred to all she spoke as brother and sister. She had earned her armor, her sword and shield and thus began a long and fruitful career. Today she’s known amongst her peers as a patient and fair individual, devoted to Yahal and a fair teacher. However, like all knights she still held that belief that there way is always right, that injustice must be taken care of immediately and wonders why such blights like Sunberth haven’t been cleansed from all its sins and evils. Name: Wade Brock Race: Human DoB: 22th of Summer, 468 AV PoB: Syliras Title: Syliran Knight, "Uncle Wade" Rank: Knight, Red Company, 1st Regiment, Gold Quadron Skills: 80 Longsword, 65 Shield, 35 Heavy Crossbow, 45 Riding: Horse, 40 Unarmed Combat, 30 Flux, 55 Teaching Gnosis: 1 Sylir, 1 Ennervism Additional Info: Wade Brock, one of the veteran knights of the Syliran Order. He's a middle-aged man that exhume an aura of authority, Wade himself is a calm, no-nonsense man, with a seemingly perpetual frown on his face, but it may be due to his wrinkles. Wade is an honorable and respectful man, he also actively worships Yahal. One could see that everything this man said is always serious, he rarely jest and he rarely gives sarcastic remarks as well, letting his logic and honor drive his actions. Wade is a member of the Brock family name, one of the "First Wing" family of the Order. From his childhood, he had been trained to be the ideal knight, honorable, firm, and courageous. It succeeded. If there are any things that could give the man some visible smile, no matter how small it may be, is children, especially well-behaved ones. He views children as innocent people rarely capable of committing truly malicious actions on purpose, he also respects people that take cares and loves children as well. As such, he's one of the knights that often frequented The Welcome Home Orphanage, just to check up on the well-being of the children there. The children there affectionately calls him "Uncle Wade". Titus himself is a spirited knight full of energy, his voice carries so much force that he can make lesser men cower and braver men flinch when he shouted at them. He enjoys good ale, good comrades, and especially, good weapons. He takes really good care of his weapons, especially his Warhammer. He has a tendency to shout some battle-cries before battle, as such, he's most known for bellowing "IT'S HAMMER TIME!!" before charging into battle, gaining him the nick-name "Titus the Hammer". Credit to Radiant Caelin Verellin
Name: Caelin Verellin Race: Human DoB: 51st of Summer, 581 AV PoB: Syliras Title: Sergeant Knight, Orange Company, 3rd Regiment, Silver Quadron Skills: Longsword 64, Shield 68, Riding: Horse 50, Unarmed Combat 52, 58 tactics, 55 Leadership, 78 observation , 56 investigation, 30 Bodybuilding, 42 Teaching 30 Crossbow Gnosis: 1 Sylir Additional Info: Caelin is not a tall man, standing at 5,7, with blond hair and blue eyes. A lean build and a tendency to remain quiet give him a reputation for being a near-mute observer, which has caused more than one man or woman to make the mistake of underestimating him; he always makes sure to correct them when they step out of line. Skilled at a number of things, but not quite mastering any of them, his abilities at instruction could be far greater if he put more effort into expanding them. For Caelin, however, tactics and physical pursuits come more easily, as is shown by his expertise with sword and shield; while he is competent as a rider, he finds fighting on foot to be more to his liking. Never one to be loud or boisterous, Caelin is known for deliberately speaking quietly so that others are forced to quieten down to hear him, yet despite this he can stir the men he leads into fighting long and hard in battle. His quiet nature extends to combat, where he remains wholly focused on fighting his opponent, wearing them down steadily. Some say his silence is more terrifying than any war cry in Mizahar. Name: Alicia Frostfawn Race: Vantha DoB: 59th of Fall 488 A.V PoB: Avanthal Title: "Ally", "Sera Shorty" Rank: Mage Knight, Yellow Company, 4th Regiment, Gold Quadron Skills: 55 Shielding, 30 Reimancy (Water, Air), 30 Auristics, 30 Shortsword, 30 Riding:Horse Gnosis: 1 Sylir, 1 Ice Reaving Additional Info: At just 5 feet tall, it's easy to underestimate the short female mage-knight just by her appearance alone. Alicia's true abilities lies not in her physical strength, but her arcane prowess. She is a soft-spoken, quiet Vantha girl, but by no means a pushover. While she is easy to be flushed and embarrassed, Alicia knows when it's time to be jesting or serious. Still, it doesn't stop some of the knights to affectionaly call her "Sera Shorty" due to her height. Born in Avanthal, Alicia journeyed to Syliras in search for her purpose in life. She didn't exactly dislike her peaceful life in Avanthal, but she felt like she could be part of something more... somewhere where her magical talents could be utilized to do justice. With Morwen's blessing, she set out from Avanthal. Long story short, she arrived in The Fortress City, admired the virtues and principles of the Syliran Knights and decided that joining the Order would be her purpose. Credit goes to Radiant
Corbus Stanlinsa
Name:Corbus Stanlinsa Race: Human DoB: 34 Spring, 479 AV PoB: Syliras Title: Sergeant Knight Skills: 56 Bastard Sword, 60 Shield, 34 Leadership, 20 Teaching, 51 Riding: Horse, 46 Tactics, 52 Rhetoric, 49 Crossbow, 44 Persuasion, 53 Interrogation Gnosis: 1 Sylir Additional Info: Corbus Stanlinsa is a proud, if somewhat annoying knight. Standing at 5 feet, 10 inches and near 200 pounds, he's a rather stout individual, a product of the rigorous training all of the order undergo. As a member of the Stanlinsa family, he ascension into knighthood was all but expected, but it took a couple of patrons to help see him through. Not because he wasn't skilled enough, not because he wasn't progressing in a satisfactory manner, and not because of anything happening to these patrons. No, it was simply because he would not stop talking. About anything and everything. For those who have had the pleasure (or displeasure) of meeting Corben, they've found him to have an opinion on about everything and he's unafraid to voice it. If you're doing good, expect praise. If you're doing wrong, well, prepare for him to tell you just why you petched up. Some would call him friendly, genuine, good hearted. Others would just say he's an arrogant vagik. Both would be right, depending on the day. Despite his hit or miss personality, he has earned some amount of respect with his silver tongue and combat prowess. While he stands out in no individual area, his all around capabilities make him a formidable foe and ally alike. His 'call you out' leadership style rubs some people the wrong way, but he more than makes up for it with his decision to lead from the front, rather than sitting back and shouting out commands. Tristan Whitevine Race: Human, Vantha Date of Birth: 31st of Summer, 462 AV Place of Birth: Avanthal Location: Mithryn Outpost, Syliran Fields Title: Stewart Knight of the Grey Company, 4th Regiment, Gold Quadron Skills: Leadership: (75pts), Longsword: (70pts), Shield: (65pts), Short Bow: (60pts), Riding(Horse): (55pts), Tactics: (50pts), Organization: (45pts), Politics: (40pts) Gnosis: 1 Sylir Bio- Tristan Whitevine is a model Knight of Syliras. He has served as the leader of the Mithryn Outpost for nearly two decades since ascending to the position after the retirement of his predecessor. He is quite happy to serve as the leader of the defenders of the Syliran Fields and has no aspirations for anything greater than what he does every day. Fond of stories and the occasional practical joke he is nevertheless a man who takes his job very seriously but he sees no problem with upholding the peace with a good natured attitude. He was born in Whitevine Hold in Avanthal and while he loved his Hold and his people he was never quite satisfied living day in and day out amongst the frozen tundra of Morwen’s garden. When he was old enough he brokered passage to Wind Reach and from Wind Reach to Denval. From Denval he learned a little bit about the lands that lay to the East where it was warmer and filled with stories of Knights, dark gods, adventurers facing down terrible beasts and conquering the mysteries of the Suvan Sea. To him the cities that lay in the eastern regions of Mizahar seemed teeming with life and adventure. It wasn’t that the northern regions weren’t filled with their own wonders he simply wanted to be…different. He found that “different” something when he arrived in Syliras at the age of twenty-two. He saw the Knights, he had heard tell of how they stood as fierce protectors of the people, upholds of Justice and defenders of Peace. He knew immediately that the life of Knight was the life that he wanted to live. He sought out the recruitment office and from then on the rest as they say is history. His life in the Knighthood hasn’t been easy. He has suffered the same trials as any knight but as he’s grown older he’s learned how to approach sticky situations a lot more wisely. One such sticky situation led him to meet the woman who would become his wife. He had been hunting in the Bronze Wood doing his best to refine his skills in archery when he was attacked by a cougar. He barely managed to escape the encounter with his life. The attack left him with many a scar upon his upper and lower body and a healthy respect for the creatures that dwelt within the woods. He remembered managing to wade through the woods stumbling as he bled out collapsing until he passed unconscious. The next thing he knew he was waking up in a comfortable bed with a young woman staring down at him. The whole time he’d been unconscious though it seemed that a woman’s voice had been calling him. He recalled her telling him stories, he could hear her laughter, he could remember her whispers to him and when it had felt like the darkness of the dreams that haunted him during the worst of his bout were nearly crushing him her voice had led him back into the light. Tristan had resolved to find this woman when he awoke and low and behold she ended up being right in front of him the moment he opened his eyes. As he spent more and more time with the woman whose name he learned was Cecelia he only grew to love her more. The two were eventually wed and he has only been the better for it with two sons to call his own and a loving family to come home to when the days are long. Role In Syliras: Tristan is the Stewart Knight of the Grey Company of the Gold Quadron’s 4th Regiment. As such he is the representation of the knightly authority of Syliras in the Syliran Fields. He runs the Fields in cooperation with Farmer Driscoll and Stewart Knight Harris Frist in equal measure. He is a fair man who believes strongly in the tenants of the Knighthood and though he can seem a bit stern to look at he is a very good natured man that is compassionate and approachable. He no longer wished to stay in the desert, Aonwey eventually found himself in the city of Syliras. He missed being apart of something, a collective to call family. After he joined the squirehood where he originally trained to become a typical knight, his journey took a surprising twist as his Patron taught him the Arcane art of Flux shaping. Ever since, he delved further into the Arcane. Aonwey is a strong, outspoken, and passionately honest man. Her parents were neither originally of the anarchic city, rather finding themselves as victims of circumstance. Enslaved when travelling outside of their home city of Zeltiva, they found themselves birthing a daughter into the worst of situations. Although owned by an influential gang member of Sunberth, they never interacted with him, other than when he showed up to remove Lilly from their possession. They would never see her again. During her 17th year Lilly managed to escape from Sunberth and her master, leaving her history, family, and secrets behind. She remains tight lipped, telling no one of her past life. The young woman arrived in Syliras in Spring of 509 AV and immediately found herself attracted to the knights and the forbidden fruit which was magic. In beautiful story of opposites attract, Lilly took a step towards moving past her upbringing, but it hasn't been without serious growing pains. She openly questions her superior's every action, and finds herself with plenty of extra early morning duties to 'correct' her behavior. There's a lot of doubt within the order of her suitability to join their ranks.
