OOC Info Still Waters Run Deep

Feel free to post any and all OOC chatter for Kenash and Cyphrus here!

(This is a thread from Mizahar's fantasy role play forums. Why don't you register today? This message is not shown when you are logged in. Come roleplay with us, it's fun!)

This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

I don't know if anyone here watches the Walking Dead but this conversation reminds me of the plot of someone feeding the walkers rats...And the fact that they didn't ever finish that plot! (though I have my suspicions.

More spam from your resident AS.

Ok I really appreciate all the work you have been doing helping to flesh out Kenash with the NPC's and the Locations! There are just some things I want to make clear.

1. No more Askara NPC's will be approved for the time being without an express need for one. They have a lot of NPC's. We are showing the love to other houses.

2. I am not going to be approving any more NPC's who have Mastery skill levels without a firm reason as to why they must be masters of their craft. Example, Jarrick I gave him a crapton amount of skills, why? Because he is the leader of a group of people living in a swamp that KILLS the unwary. He has to have skills. Am I going to approve a tailor with a Mastery in sewing? Probbaly not because there is no real reason for needing a tailor. We will have PC's who will fill that need. Hopefully if we get a PC who works his tail off and surpasses Jarrick in skills and in story line I might kill Jarrick off and we get a PC leader of Rujaro..but for the moment there is a clear need for Jarrick..not a clear need for Master sew-people (Sewers just was wrong lol).

Why do I not want NPC's being masters? NPC's should never be the back bone of a community. That should be our PC's. Our PC's should shine, and the NPC's be the backdrop. Thus please don't put mastery level without good justification.

3. All photos should be hosted by Mizahar, not by any other site. This protects your photos from going poof if a site shuts down or has difficulty.

Woots I would have my PC join Haeli but I can't think of a reason a slave would be out and about fishing.

Dynasty Player Characters and the Fall Season

Ok so I have been struggling with this all week. Mostly because I didn't want to be too hard. We need to chat about Job threads for Fall. Looking through the threads I don't see many Job threads at all that weren't Slaves doing their jobs.

I understand that Kenash sort of got thrown for a loop when it went AS-less for a little bit, but you weren't without an AS the entire season, Poppy came in and I know she went on a grading spree because all of Shayna's Job solo's got graded within a day (Thanks Poppy!) and I was like wow, Kenash got a ST.

Even if Poppy hadn't come over, job threads are the same with or without a ST. I am so glad your coming back from the long hiatus now that Poppy and myself are moving Kenash to activity, but we do need to deal with this.

There is no retroactive Job threads, if you didn't place a place holder then you just don't get paid for last season if you didn't do a job thread.

This means that in the next week or so I will be PMing Dynasty members who have not posted Job threads with an IC warning from their Heads of Household, that they missed their first loan payment, so a double payment will be due come Spring. It is on you Dynasty to try and find ways to make extra money, or perhaps double your main job skill points so that you get more income. One idea that I just had was if you had purchased a slave already then you can work on building that slave's skills this season and at the end sell said slave at a higher price. You can resort to firing employees. selling items like clothing purchased..and if you do this you might be able to afford to remain the owner of your business and a Dynasty.

If not, a second default is repossession of your businesses and perhaps a disowning for embarrassing the family.

There is still time to post your job threads if you have already written them (and of course if they aren't finish that is ok too)

Added another event to the winter calendar.

Winter, 76th Grand Opening of Odsgrace Get your fortune told! Will you marry the handsome stranger? Or will misfortune befall you? [quest by Poppy]

That one will be fun and I am excited to see Poppy start it :D

Still Waters Run Deep

Postby Shayna on December 20th, 2013, 10:42 pm

Ok just to throw this out there, Shayna has already completed the "be punished" task in the winter challenges. There are other PC slaves that might want to complete this task with a PC player, but if there is a need or an overflow, I am willing to put Shayna out there to do threads so that you can complete that challenge with a PC slave.

A few things though:

1. I would rather have the threads be dated prior to the 21st of winter..so that Shayna's antics won't reflect poorly on her new Owner.. She really doesn't want to be eaten out of frustration that his slave is annoying so many people ;)

2. I ask that you poke the other PC slaves first since Shayna has completed this task already to give them a chance to complete it with a PC player.

3. Keep in mind as your not Shayna's IC owner (Unless its you Katherine) You shouldn't cause disfigurment that would lower Shayna's value. That is destruction of property and you will be fined as well as reimburse Katherine of her loss of a slave. :D

Otherwise I am game for whatever.

Mamoru is also available for further threading. Don't be shy now...you'd have at least a 35% chance of surviving..50 if your a Dynasty rat, err brat.
