When Kovac snapped off at her about sleeping on stone Aose nearly gawked, “You...You...” She watched as he laid down for the night. He wasn't kidding. She sighed and after adjusting her quiver she laid down on it gently resting her head against it staring up at the night sky.

“Kov...” Aose turned her head towards the man's back, “Have you heard of a temple on the far side of the Unforgiving?” Siilark was nowhere to be seen, he was probably perched in some lofty tree clucking at his situation. Aose made him stay away for the time. Shifting the hair to uncover her ear, her locks of fiery red were snagging gently on the fledgling appearing ridging on the tip of Aose's earlobe.

The thought of asking Kovac about something no other Inarta seemed to know of made her uneasy, but if she couldn't reside in anyone who could she reside in? Siilark was a mischief little bugger who didn't do well with Aose at the moment.

OOCYou can find out about Siilark, the Tatani Gnosis on her earlobe, and the temple I mention in the last Spring 513 and the Summer 513 threads dotted through out Aose's CS

Kovac's eyes were already half-lidded, gazing into the star-studded night sky. He heard Aose shifting around, trying to get comfortable on the flagstones beneath her. Maybe he was being a bit harsh on her. But harsh was life in Wind Reach, and harsh the lessons one had to learn to survive and find your place. The girl was tough, Kovac believed, and he would make sure she would have the endurance to succeed, let alone simply survive. She already had the pluck and confidence. Both of those traits would need to be shaped as well, unchecked they could get her into trouble...well, more trouble than she had already gotten into.

Once the shuffling stopped, Aose's small voice lifted over the sounds of Summer insects and nocturnal creatures. A raven had seemed to settle above their heads, oddly enough, willing to share the campsite with the humans. He replied, unaware of any temple. "No," he replied, gaze remaining skyward, "I haven't heard about anything like that out there. But the Unforgiving in big, real big, I suppose anything could be out there. What are you talking about, Blue Eyes?" The question was out of the blue, and Kovac could only imagine she had heard some crazy rumor, Wind Reach was rife with gossip, and had that child's curiosity about it.

Aose sighed, she had a feeling that Kov didn’t know anything about a temple, “Oh, just something I dreamed about after encountering Brother Crow.” The day’s adventure had left her exhausted and in doing so it left her mouth loose and unchecked. The girl gulped when she realized what she just said. Shyke. Clenching her jaw as she waited for Kovac to respond. It seemed forever, but the restless bird above their heads was driving the young girl nuts.

Sitting up she adjusted her positioning to be facing the fire before looking up at the raven, Aose took a breathe inward before pressing her lips together and letting out a low descending whistle. She hoped the bird understood her, after all Siilark wasn’t exactly the kindest of ravens. Luckily the bird did respond! He swooped down, his large wings and flat spade shaped tail fanned out as he dropped on the ground beside Aose, cawing loudly. Aose smiled, “Say hello to Kovac Siilark.” Her hand directed the bird’s attention to Kovac.

The cocked face of the bird flicked from one side to the other, as if examining Kovac before making a ruk sound, wings fluffing out a bit to give him a bigger appearance before settling down next to the girl.

Sadly Aose didn’t think of saving any bread for the bird who decided that he did a good job landing beside her wanted something in return. So a peck to the flesh of her hand cause Aose to jump, “Why you little git!” She growled and made to grab the bird. Crowing loudly the bird hopped backwards out of the yasi’s reach before making a sound similar to laughing. Aose sighed, she knew it was no use chasing him.

“Keep laughing. I hear ya.”

Kovac had begun to drift off to sleep, easily sloughing off the girl's odd question and overlooking her quick effort to back peddle on the subject of a shrine, rambling on about a brother or a crow or something. The Avora was tired and the Yasi's incoherent babbling was keeping him awake. But when she emitted a low whistle, the hunter opened his eyes fully, turning to look at her with a scowl, about to scold her to be quiet.

As it turned out, Aose's noise was not just an attempt to annoy the man, but to summon the raven that had been lingering at camp. Kovac, startled, sat up on his elbows as the large black bird landed with a bit of a fuss on the ground next to the ginger inartan.

"What the pe..." Kovac exclaimed, the rest of his curse drowned out by the raven's loud caw. The bird and half-bred human eyed each other for a moment before the raven turned to Aose. It pecked at her with some insistance, garnering a loud laugh from Kovac as the child chided the creature, scrambling to seize it.

"Haha! How does it feel to be annoyed by a little pest!" The Avora taunted between laughs. "Where do did you find this thing, why has it decided to hang around you?"

Aose scrowled at the bird before turning her attention to her Avora instructor, “If yer implin’ I am a little pest he isn’t no pest. He’s a bird from a god. Old man, how many ravens ya see with white on der backs eh?” She pointed to the bird’s back where a white splotch was visible as a bright mark in the night. When Kovac finally decided to stop laughing Aose waited just in case he decided it was necessary to outburst in laughter again.

“Dis... ‘thing’ as ya call it is Siilark. He is a raven that was give ta me by Eywaat the end of last Spring. That and this...” She paused and shifted her hair away from her earlobes, there on the right was the fledgling starts of a Tatani gnosis.

“Petching bugger made me look insane too. Like I was fit ta be a dek or somethin’ by everyone.” Aose grumbled, recalling how the man came as a bird from a childhood story. “What else ya wanna know eh? He came and drove me nutters and I got blessed outta the process.

OOCShort. >.<
