Traveling outside the walls of Syliras

Trivon, young and educated in few things had been planing to leave the city of Syliras for some time now. He was finally standing at the main gates near the nettle district. He stood alone in the street as if to be waiting for something, his home was here in Syliras and it was not as if he was not coming back so why did he feel so strange.

He clenched the straps of his pack as he walked forward out of the city. In the distance he could see the swan sea and boats that were at the docks, he laughed he felt alone not knowing what he was doing. Trivon was only going to be outside the walls for no less then a few days thinking he might just enjoy being outside the city for a while, he liked his home but he felt that something was missing from his life. Walking down the dirt which was covered in frost and the trees, gleaming from the ice he saw something in the distance move.

" so close to the city, i have only been walking for less then an hour" Trivon thought to himself as his heart began to race.

Traveling outside the walls of Syliras

His heart beat could heard in his ears he had never encountered any real danger and all the sword practice he had was with his grandfather and with a young friend.

Trivon's hand slowly moved towards his blade, drawing it with caution from his sheath, walking with ease towards what could be his first real fight. His body became tense as he walked with his sword held in front of him. He could see it clearly now a large wolf in a shining white fur coat, Trivon stopped as he caught the wolfs eye. The wolf dropped the small rabbit it had clenched between its teeth and moved its body to face Trivon.

The wolf charged towards Trivon with great force, fangs covered in blood. While moving out of the wolfs attack With a swing of his sword Trivon had managed to give the beast a flesh wound on its hind leg, But the beast still growling charged again towards Trivon this time he did not dodge the attack rather he took the full blow.

The beast had wounded Trivons left shoulder but it had suffered a more devastating blow to the neck, the wolf lye on the blood soaked snow gasping for air kicking its legs trying to fight back. Trivon felt no fear but sorrow, this was not his place killing a living thing but he did not wish the beast anymore suffering. Kneeling on his right knee with his blade in his left hand he gave a quick push and shoved the blade into the wolfs chest.

The wolfs body went limb as Trivon removed his sword and wiped it clean on the side of his coat, he stood up and looked around him he had been hurt but the wound was not bleeding very much. Trivon sat back down on the snow exhausted from the fight which had left him uneasy and breathing heavily. Trivon sighed heavily and moved towards the beast. Maybe he could cook the animal he had slain and keep its fur for a blanket but he did not know how to do this. He looked at the blood soaked fur and considered that it would not be worth anything like that.

Trivon did not want to spend the night in the wilderness alone, he calculated how long it would take him to get back to the city. After cleaning up his own wound Trivon picked up the wolf and carried it on his back. his home was a mere 5 minute walk from the main gate, what were the chances of getting caught.

Trivon began his return to the city as he had found the dirt road he had followed.

Traveling outside the walls of Syliras

After traveling another half day, Trivon was tired from carrying the large beast on his back for half the day. But the sun was about to rise and he did not want to be seen carrying a dead wolf through the city, he could see the gates which were no less then a short walk but the people in syliras start work early tending their jobs and walking the streets. He was bound to be questioned if he was seen, he started to move faster with the little energy he had holding the legs of the wolf tighter as he started to run.

Now entering the city he felt a re-leaved because he still had some time before people started to leave their homes, but out of all this panic he had forgotten how lucky he was that the cold winter air had kept the wolf cold preventing it from going bad which would mean that all his hard effort would go to waste.

Trivon was nearly at the safety of his house he threw the beast on the ground and grabbed his key from the string on his neck and unlocked the door, then dragged the wolf into his home and closed the door shut the curtains and lit the hearth which brought the room to light.

With the last of his energy he put the dead wolf on the table and pulled out a clean knife and began to gut the animal, the smells made Trivon feel sick at some points but he needed to do this. After he had removed all the remaining fur and pulled the parts of the wolf that were non-edible he placed the large chunks of meat on the hearth.

Removing his coat and placing it over his chair he looked at the pile of remains that he could not use from the wolf, but what remained on the table was the fur which was a little torn and not very well removed but still in mostly one piece.

After the meat had cooked trivon added a few spices that he had and enjoyed his meal.
