This is Zinrah's Development Forum.

It is time for Zinrah to have its own codex, and as per a wonderful suggestion on Soliloquy's end, we've decided to open up the development of said codex to those who know Zinrah's winding ways best: It's players. I am hoping to have the codex completed by the beginning of Spring, so Sol and I will be adding in sections as the season goes on. If you want to claim an entire segment for yourself just say that here, a full write up once approved is worth 25 points in the treasure chest, and adding suggestions, editing, etc to already written sections is worth 5, so if you just want a certain blurb included or you want to tackle a chunk let us know and post your stuff here!
Also any images you'd like to see included are welcome as well! |
Deep in the bowels of Falyndar lies a city formed out of the ruins of old cities and carved painstakingly into the sediment. Below the earth where most would fear to dwell Zinrah is a beautiful amalgamation of earthen construction, where the deadly sub species of Constrictors lives oppressed by their wall of Myrian guards forming the barricade around their city above ground.
A city that thrives on the precipice of destruction, Zinrah has two distinct sides to it and its inhabitants. Upon the one clawed hand lies the need to survive and feed not only the adult Dhani whose voracious diets constantly need quenching, but also the snakelings that symbolize hope and the future of Constrictor survival in the jungle wilds. On the other hand lies a race whose long lives and powerful bodies give them an understandably prideful view on life and how precisely to live it. As long as the fragile truce put in place by the Goddesses that rule over Falyndar holds, why strain oneself with worry day after day? As befitting such thoughts Zinrah is home to many pleasurable locals for relaxation and enjoyment of the exquisite and basest varieties as well.
So walk or slither into our fair dank city if you dare, and find the treasures within.
City Appearance
From the outside of Zinrah (the Myrian perspective) the city is simply a pile of rubble in various stages of decay, portraying the ruins of the ancient city that once was. Of course this is the most topical of views. Below the earth through one of the few entrances that lead into the heart of Zinrah lies a complicated series of tunnels that twists through the innards of Falyndar's jungle depths.
Within these tunnels the decorum, texture, and even color of the rocks that make up the walls change from place to place. Some tunnels are remnants of the old city above, partially ruined columns supporting the ceiling and stone steps and hallways, twisted on their sides, yet whole beneath the earth. The rest of the tunnels are a combination of Dhani power and geomancy, carved out of the earth and displaying varying levels of craftsmanship. One can generally tell how well used a tunnel is by the amount of glow stones, and the condition it is in. Some tunnels are roughly shaped, haphazardly carved as byways, or simply rougher due to lack of use. Other passages are as smooth as a newly hatched snakeling, intricate holders for glow stones carved or shaped through reimancy out of the walls, and patterns even designed into the floors. These kind of decorations are most often found outside of important sites like Siku's Temple, the Steam Baths, and Prominent Queen's chambers as well as along more common thoroughfares.
Dhani residences can be as varied as the tunnels of Zinrah, ranging from sparsely furnished caves simply found off of tunnels to intricately carved manses holding every modern convenience one could desire.
