Additional Info: The daughter of a barmaid, Isabella Syroin, and a foreign sailor, Victor Woodrum, Katherine's life wasn't easy. When she wasn't working in the tavern alongside her mother, she was chasing after her often absent or drunken father. Losing her father to a bar brawl, she became the sole bread earner at eighteen as her mother could no longer work, the woman slowly being lost more and more to reality in amidst grief and a slow growing mental condition. Down to her last savings, Katherine agreed to warm a drunk's bed for enough coin to see her mother and herself through the next few days. Although disgusted with herself, she soon found her natural good looks gave her much talent for the line of work. Leaving behind her old job when her mother died, Katherine went in prostitution, working solo in the Tent city. During this time she fell pregnant and after a difficult premature birth, had a son that she named Daniel. At some point after this, whether due to luck, fortune or Calyn's kindness, the family moved into the Sunset Quarters.
Though she couldn't spend much time with her son due to work, Katherine delighted in telling him stories from books that she had found or that she could recall hearing. The pair enjoyed a relatively peaceful life up until the winter of 501A.V. when Katherine once again fell pregnant. Worried for the child that grew inside her, Katherine worked hard to earn extra money where ever she could while she still felt she could. This behaviour however unfortunately attracted the attention of a small gang. At first happy for the money and reliability of their request, Katherine began to fear the group when their request grew violent. Now heavily pregnant, she decided to refuse them all service and live frugally off the savings she had gathered. The gang did not take this well. Stalking her and threatening her, the situation boiled over. Taking some back alleys to avoid a riot happening in the market place, Katherine and her son were cornered by the gang. Threatening words turned into violence and the death of her unborn child, her own death and her son, then Daniel, now Eleazar's orphaning soon followed. Katherine's body was laid to rest in the Dust Bed a few days later as those of her killers, that hadn't already been killed by the mob, were hung.
