11th Day of Winter, 513 AV
Location: The Smoldering Embrace

As the children seemed to dance around, Kenna couldn't help but frown at their happiness and their care-free lifestyle. She had always come to this place in search of her own personal guidance but also the guidance of her brothers. Therefore right now she envied the children's happiness. Ever since she was at least one year of age, all she could remember was the two of them taking care of her. But now that she had grown up, their absence became more evident as the time passed. Today was the day she dreaded most, where all her feelings that she had pushed away would now seem to resurface. Despite her parents passing and being so young at the time, Kenna would relive the day itself like it was just yesterday.

Out of the three siblings, each one had a different way of coping with the death: Anger, silence, or isolation. But despite their own different ways of coping, on the eleventh day of winter, the three would reunite and mourn their parents death. Although, tonight seemed different as it was already late and her brothers were a no-show. Letting out an exasperated sigh, she got up from the floor and made her way to one of the eight paths of the local park. Seeing some were already lit, she took one of the torches and lit the others in efforts to somehow help. Normally the three would do it together as it was another one of their traditions, but tonight it would be spent alone.

A lone tear seemed to drag across her left cheek; Kenna attempting to blink away the tears threatening to pour. By now, her chest was feeling to explode and her whole body was ready to drop. Unable to cope with her out of control emotions, she let out a needed sob, her cries coming out as exasperated shrieks. Leaning over, she held her body close in order to provide some comfort; nothing helped. She wanted brothers to hold her tight and tell her it was alright, Kenna wanted her parents most of all. For a long period of time she had considered leaving Avanthal, but something always seemed to stop her. Everything happened for a reason and it's outcome would either make us or break us.

Slowly this outcome was breaking her because even after more than three years ago, her heart wouldn't heal. To move on, Kenna knew that she had to accept the fact that they were out of her life but would always be in her hearts. The overwhelming pain of their death was something that just sent her out of control, nothing was there to balance her out. Seeing that the place was a local park, many people passed by especially during this time. They stared at her with looks of pity but also looks of horror towards the girl who sounded like a dying bird. Kenna was surprised that no one had called her brothers or any friend to come and get her. She was practically alone.

Once the tears seemed to dry, she was finally able to get up and slowly trudge towards the bonfire. Placing herself in a more secluded place from everyone else, her blonde hair covered her blotchy red face and blood shot eyes. Tears continued to pour out of her eyes, but her gaze remained focused on the candles so graciously lit. Sometimes day-dreaming helped put her in a position where she could've lived another life. Kenna was a eagle in those dreams, one for whom wasn't bound to the ground but could fly with freedom. Their wings represented the strength, graceful, and flexible abilities they carried. On the other hand, she was a wolf who was emotionally unstable and a possible killer in the making.

Normally, Kenna was never like this. Her personality was more or less the happy type, trying to take negative situations and turning them into positive ones. But for once in her life, she found her weakness and was no longer the brave/strong girl everyone knew. As a coping mechanism, Kenna pushed away those feelings, completely shutting them out from her life. In the process of doing that, she knew that every time she did so, her heart would only fall faster with each time that came.

Broken Boundaries [Lorelle]

Flame blazes in the air. It is twirled and played with. It spreads from the palms of the reimancer’s hand. A ball of res forms first, blazing to life quickly. The flame seems to dance. Coloring the night in the land of the aurora. A Vantha watches, amazement and curiosity in her eyes. Lorelle’s eyes follow the flame. Where does it come from? What is that substance coming from the reimancer that ignites with fire? The Vantha woman truly doesn’t know. Reimancy isn’t something she has researched much. It is a form of magic. That is all Lorelle knows. Magic. That rarely spoken of subject in this icy city. Yet, here it is being preformed. Right out in a public park. Interesting, very interesting indeed.

Running her fingers through her hair, Lorelle turns and moves away from the fire show. There are other things of interest here. The Vantha hasn’t been here for a long time. Her memories are faded and gone. Being here, it doesn’t bring them back. It creates new ones though. Ones that she hopes she will remember. She doesn’t want to forget this, her home. It is strange. Now that she might be leaving Avanthal, she wants to see and remember everything. As if having these memories of her home will be something she wants.

Lorelle begins walking around the oval that is the center of the park. She stares at the bomb fire. A large metal sphere with bowls of fire burning. Does it really count as a bomb fire? The Vantha isn’t sure if she would go that far. Still, it is pretty. Shrugging, Lorelle turns and begins walking towards one of the paths. She wants to see if she can find a piece of so called “treasure”. Apparently that is a thing here. Small tokens in boxes hidden among the mazes. Lorelle smiles softly. Maybe she can actually find something.

The woman hears a noise, turning her head slightly. She doesn’t see much. Just a dark figure. She isn’t sure, it is hard to see with this light and her current position. Lorelle bites her bottom lip softly. The figure is all alone. What could that mean in a place such as the smoldering embrace? Not that Lorelle should be making such guesses since she is here alone as well. Though, Lorelle feels she has a good reason. She wants to see and experience this place again. Just in case she never gets to again.

A mental war rages in Lorelle’s head. Most know that she is not the nicest Vantha. She prefers to stay to herself. The reason she works in the library is a way this fact is proven. Not a lot of traffic in a place like that. Yet, Lorelle feels as though she should try and be nice in her last seasons here. Make an effort to leave a memory on the people here. With a silent groan and a small sigh, the Vantha takes a step forward towards the figure.
”Oh morwen help me,” she murmurs under her breath, now walking towards the figure.

The figure is female. Medium length hair, though Lorelle can’t see the color. The Vantha moves closure, able to see the girl’s face due to the glow from the fire. She guesses late teens to early twenties for age. What are those on her face? Lorelle tries to look without being noticed. Tears. The Vantha’s eyes grow wide. Tears mean sadness. Another person’s sadness. This is not what Lorelle had planned. Sadly it is too late to turn back. Surely the other girl has seen her by now. Another soft sigh, Lorelle clenches her teeth. This is her own fault. She will just have to get over it.

“Hi,” she greets, within hearing range now. She closes the gap between them, standing only about a yard or so away. “You alright?” she asks, forcing herself to sound pleasant. Her eyes are settled on a brown color as she tries to make being calm her strongest emotion. Being irritated or angry would probably not be helpful in this situation. “I noticed you were alone, mind if I sit? I don’t think this is a place for anyone to be spending time alone,” her own words taste like muddy snow in her mouth.

Forcing a smile, Lorelle looks down to the girl. Truly, she wishes for the girl to push her away. To tell her that she doesn’t need anyone and that she is fine. Though, that small part of her that cried for her mother when something precious was lost so many years ago yearns to learn the girl’s troubles. Why do her tears fall?
“I’m Lorelle by the way,” she says, her voice soft but pleasant enough, “Lorelle Snowsong.”

Broken Boundaries [Lorelle]

Remaining stationary in her own thoughts, at first it would've seemed that Kenna did not hear her but her body remained alive as it felt the woman's presence before her. Her hair graciously covered her already tear stained face but the girl seemed to notice it. Kenna carefully observed her facial expressions, at first it was almost a look of guilt, annoyance, and then forced happiness. Although she wouldn't dare speak those words as it would be a waste of time, even if it was tempting. Wanting to speak her mind seemed to cross her mind, but she pushed it away with easy.

Clearly the girl wasn't one for helping others out, and from what she could tell by her body language it seemed painful for her. Raising one blonde eyebrow, she gave her subtle nod rather than a response to save her the trouble of having to communicate. An awkward silence seemed to dance over the two as they sat watching the fire come to life.
"Kenna Frostfawn." Looking to the girl she gave her a small weak smile before turning back towards the fire. The urge of wanting to speak out vigorously biting at her tongue, wanting to say more than needed.

Biting down on her lip, Kenna tried to fixate on more sadder concepts. Anything that would seem to cross her mind would bring her back somehow to speaking out of turn. Opening her mouth for a moment, she couldn't think of what to say. The silence was eating at her, but if she spoke, Kenna knew that it would seem rude. Sighing loudly,
"You don't normally do this, do you? The whole: Being nice and helping someone else.. You're guarded."

She didn't dare look Lorelle in the eye knowing very well what she would see. Her walls were up high and she was threatening to break them with a single word. Unless Lorelle happened to be stronger than she assumed having built the mask for years. Somehow she could relate to the girl, in a way, something was absent in their lives and to cope they molded a new self. Only few would see a sliver of weakness because with weakness created something unfathomable. Kenna couldn't describe it exactly, but the feeling was mutual. Though she offered to help most in need, she always managed to allow all of it to blow up into flames. A long-term habit - being able to read others well but when applying it can sometimes misinterpret the situation.

"Just so you know, what you're doing right now.. Well, thank you. But honestly, just be yourself because sometimes being real is better than forcing it." The two ends of her lips turned up lightly as her gaze lowered, her bright green eyes wavering between sadness and content. Sadness, because she couldn't help but mourn over the death of her parents even in front of a complete stranger. But also content, in terms of having a living body next to her in efforts to calm her down. Keriay normally would be around during this time but due to having to hunt, she was alone for the night. Her brothers were a no-show therefore she knew that even the slightest bit of company would be pleasant.

Lorelle's mask seemed to tug at her heart, what could have caused her to do such a thing? To have to pretend that everything was okay but it wasn't, it was a relatable topic once again. If only she could figure out why without having another malfunction like the rest.

Lorelle is surprised. This woman beside her seems to have picked up on exactly how the Vantha is feeling. Not something anyone has been able to do who hasn’t known her (and been very observant) for a long time. Who is this woman? This Kenna Frostfawn? Lorelle stays silent for awhile, staring into the fire. Her body remains mostly still, but her mind moves at a rapid pace. This woman with blonde hair cannot be of pure Vantha origins. So she must be something else. Looking over, Lorelle focuses on the different features of Kenna’s face. She has something about her... something not exactly human. “What are you?” she asks, her voice soft but curious and a bit suspicious, “How did you ...” Her voice trails off. “My own parents can’t even do that. Tell when I am faking it.”

Lorelle looks down to the ground. “Your right, I’m guarded. I am not one for comforting people. I didn’t realize ...” she lets her thoughts trail off once more. She isn’t going to spill her thoughts out. That would be dumb. Sighing, she looks to the girl. Her eyes shift in color as she becomes unsure of herself. “I didn’t realize you were upset when I came over here. Truthfully I probably wouldn’t have had I known,” her voice is dry and quite blunt in tone. Even in the lyrical Vani language that she speaks. With a shrug she continues, “Sounds mean, I know. But you said to be myself instead of forcing sympathy. Though, I am sorry for your sadness.” a thin, dark blue ring comes out in her eyes as if to prove her point as she looks at Kenna once more.

“Being alone while sad is sometimes the hardest thing. Unless you are like me of course. I prefer to bear my sadness alone,” Her voice is steady as she speaks. Pushing a strand of hair out of her face, she turns and looks to the so bomb fire. “Not that I am sad often. Just saying, when I am being around people isn’t something I enjoy. If you are the same way, feel free to tell me to go away. I get it.” She looks back to the girl, that little girl that she used to be showing herself deep in Lorelle’s heart. “Though, if you wouldn’t mind answering, what is it that brings sadness to your eyes?” she asks, her voice growing softer. She sounds more kind now. As though she truly cares. She does somewhat but is really more interested in the answer to quench her curiosity. Not to be able to better empathize with the woman.

“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. I am just curious,” she admits. “Maybe I can help you take your mind off things. Just need to know what is going on first.” She bites on her lip softly. Does she really want to do this? The answer to that is one she knows automatically. No. She doesn’t truly care about this woman’s troubles and doubts. This woman is a stranger in her eyes. Lorelle probably wouldn’t worry over a family member enough to care to let them pour out their hearts to her. She may tolerate Meville enough to let him tell her why he is upset. But that is a different story. The unnatural and uncomfortable worry she gets towards him is something completely foreign to her. It is not a feeling she has now. Yet, Kenna has brought something else out in her. Her curiosity. A feeling that is hard to push away. “So Kenna,” Lorelle speaks once more, “What causes your tears to drip from your eyes? Or if you do not wish to tell me...” Her voice trails off, having no other option in mind. All she wishes in this moment is for her curiosity to be quenched. Nothing more, nothing less.

She wasn't surprised by Lorelle's actions as she had expected this, it was a very typical reaction to get when one discovered their own secrets. Though she didn't know her very well, just by her body language could say a lot and it wasn't hard to hear the strain in her voice. No, she was not judging her in anyway but she rather felt sympathetic towards her own case. Having to hide behind a mask to protect yourself, being able to fly by life without anyone noticing.. Until now. It could've been with her ability to over-think things because she sought out to find possibilities in every situation. Or, she could have just blamed her own animal enhanced abilities that happened to go from here to there. With her many questions, Lorelle was clearly waiting for her to fill her curiosity with a large amount of information about herself. But Kenna couldn't help but want to leave her on the hanging end because she may lose interest after she answered her.

As tempting as it was, she decided to have fun with all of this,
"Kelvic... But my own race doesn't determine how simple it is to see what you hide from everybody. Most people choose not to look and pay attention to every detail of a person. Though I see life as one full of possibilities therefore I search for every single possible thing that could be useful to me. In this case, I would like to know more about, your story and such.. I won't necessarily intervene into your business because that would make you uncomfortable."

Looking at her for a moment she saw the wavering look dancing in her eyes as she tred through cautious ground. Kenna knew that she had to be careful where she stepped or it could cause a massive explosion in that sense. As Lorelle continued on, she couldn't help but smile at her attempts to at least sound a little more pleasant. Though she was never one to like people who tried to be something they were not, then they weren't real. Masks that she had created only seemed to break her, so she accepted it somehow even if it meant crying.

"With all the noise that I was making, I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't see me... Sometimes we all get lost in own thoughts, yeah? And you don't have to leave, can you please stay?"

Pausing for a moment, she took a shaky breath feeling her tears resurfacing for a moment. Managing to put them down, she brought her knees up to her chest and hugged them tightly. Her hair flowed in an aimless mess, probably flying in multiple directions due to her own hysteria and episode previously shown.

"Tonight's the night that they passed away... My brothers were supposed to be here so we could have our little tradition in memorial of them. I coop up all my feelings and then on this night, I just let it all out to relieve the feeling of not being able to breathe. It's hard having them absent from your life, not many people understand it though."Peeking up from her hiding place in between her legs, her electric green eyes stared at Lorelle, it's color livid as it swirled around in green pools. Nervously fidgeting with her fingers, her swollen lips shivered slightly like a child as sadness seemed to come over her. Squeezing her eyes together she shivered for a moment before opening her mouth, nothing seeming to come out.

Broken Boundaries [Lorelle]

Lorelle raises an eyebrow up, curious and a bit confused. Kelvic? It is a race that she knows very little of. There are many Kelvic in Avanthal. The Icewatch is made up of them. Large polar bear ones with their Vantha counter parts. “You can’t possibly know what I hide from everyone. Yeah I’m a little guarded but I know you don’t understand why. There is no possible way ... not without some sort of ...” Her voice raises with anger, yet it trails off as she thinks of a possible way. “You can’t know my feelings. Not without knowing what the colors in my eyes mean. My body language isn’t that telling.” She looks away from the Kelvic, biting her lip softly. Is it? Does she give off her true feelings with the way she simply holds herself? “Not today,” she says, her voice softer, “I don’t plan on telling my story today.”

“Yeah, sometimes we do,”
she agrees, more guarded now than she was before. Lorelle looks back up to Kenna. Nodding, she lets her both relaxed but focuses on keeping her emotional boundaries up. The surprise that Kenna wishes her to stay is evident in her eyes. Though perhaps she shouldn’t be surprised. The Kelvic probably just wants to try and draw her story out of her. Figure out who the woman behind the emotional mask is. No one has been able to do so. Break through the walls she has put up. She has let them down before, allowed someone to see one of the other sides of her, but no one has been able to get to her without her letting them. She doesn’t intend to let that streak end today. “I’ll stay,” she says simply, her own curiosity towards this woman still burning.

The Vantha watches as the woman before her curls up into a ball well known by Lorelle herself. It is a position one takes when they want to hide, feel as small as possible. Or to cry. Let feelings pour out and feel more or less closed off to the outside world. Seeing the position and the Kelvic taking it puts Lorelle on edge. What has she gotten herself into?

Lorelle is lost for words at first. It was an understandable sadness. Loosing people from ones life can be hard. One of the worst pains. Lorelle can’t help but feel empathetic.
“I understand the loss of people,” she says, her voice low as she lets her eyes meet Kenna’s own. “I don’t know who you have lost for you have only said “they”. But I can see that they meant much to you. And your brothers not being here... If they carry the burden as well than I can understand sadness for their absence or being angry over it. Either one.” Lorelle pauses a moment, letting her words sink in before continuing. “However, I know the longer that you hold these emotions towards the situation the harder it will be to ever let them them go. And life is too short to hold on to such sadness.”

Lorelle looks down to her hands, feeling guilty for what she is about to say. “Especially for a Kelvic,” she says, swallowing hard. She sighs, looking back to Kenna. “Sorry, that sounds mean, but from what I know it is true. Your race.. they follow the cycle of their animal sides for lifespan and other things right? Truly, I am surprised you are not more like the animal you shift into. I was led to believe Kelvics weren’t very...” Lorelle stops talking. She doesn’t want to continue on like this. Kenna being more upset or angry do to what she says isn’t something she wants on her hands.

“What I am saying is that if this is a tradition, they must have been gone for awhile. At least two years if not longer. I know it is harsh, but I think it is time to move on,” Lorelle’s voice is soft and genuinely caring but not so much so that her point can be missed. “That is what I am doing.” There. She has given a part of herself. Lorelle feels a knot ball in her stomach. A knot tight with what she fears will turn out to be one formed of regret. “It is time Kenna. You won’t forget them. They’ll always be in your heart and in your memories. But this tradition, keeping your feelings inside. I feel it would be best to stop. It is up to you, but this is my opinion. The time to let go and move on has come.”

Broken Boundaries [Lorelle]

The vantha easily reacted to her comments, a small smirk teasing at her lips as she stared the vicious flames. In the back of her mind, Kenna couldn't help but hear the vulnerability in the woman's voice as she denied to tell her story. Curiosity ate at her stomach slowly, but she managed to hold it down knowing that she had to respect people's space. Here and there she would sniffle, the silence dancing over them with ease but Lorelle cut through it with her words.

Her comforting words weren't very comforting, though Kenna knew that her intentions were well therefore she shouldn't let her own instincts over-run her.
"Well, we are like our own animal... It's just that, I struggle with being myself and instinct a lot. Wanting to be my own person but also coming back to my own roots, where I came from in this case." Her voice came out as a whisper, her own thoughts piling out her head and through her swollen lips. This was the first time that she had actually expressed to somebody such a secret, no one ever knew what happened inside. Normally, she'd project such a happy care-free aura around her all the time.. But the dark seas that lurked beneath her exterior: The interior - a much darker place.

"I'm a wolf, we're very peaceful but curious creatures who scavenge the land as almost a free-spirit. But when one crosses our own boundaries and poses a threat, that causes us to be on high alert. My instinct is to always be aware of my surroundings, to notice every single but subtle detail that most can't seen. In efforts to both protect myself and my family.. Eventually, I became jumpy a lot of the time because I was always afraid of death. I fear it really, but ever since my parents passing I realized we never know." In some parts of her banter, she would stop and sniffle or possibly even allow a lingering silence to imprint in the others mind. Truly Kenna wasn't a bad person, neither was she the type to get what she wanted and then leave it behind because she taught to cherish every moment. As struggled with two-minds, she couldn't help but feel like she wasn't a part of the world.

Being different than everyone else, Kenna had never really meant someone like her. Mostly Vantha, or possibly a human in between but never a Kelvic therefore it was a really lonely life. Her mind drew back to Altaira, and old friend but the first Kelvic she had ever met in a while. Seeing that most of her race roamed the realms aimlessly, hiding wherever they could or even blending in within the community. You could've said that most didn't truly reveal themselves so openly, almost like her.

In the midst of her own thoughts, Lorelle's voice resounded through her ears as a knowing mother to her children. A small frown crossed her features as she spoke of the term 'moving on' causing her heart to tug tremendously. But it was only until she expressed that she was doing the same thing, that it clicked. She too had experienced loss, hence why she put up the emotional barriers because to lose somebody again would put a strain. Sometimes it was better to block everybody out than to let someone in, or else there would be more room for hurt. Although, Kenna kept her mouth shut because despite she had assumed that she had Lorelle all figured out. In the back of her mind, this was only her just scratching the surface that was this Vantha.

Her words cut like knives but her intentions were always clear, they were her only ways of comfort or possibly even helping somebody. Sucking in a sharp breath, Kenna gave her a curt nod before expressing a small smile to her.
"I know I don't know your story, and it's of your choice to tell me because I'd never push you to do that. But I guess we share a mutual understanding of what it feels like... And I just wanted to say, I'm sorry."

Broken Boundaries [Lorelle]

Lorelle looks at the Kevlic for a moment in time. She lets silence come between them once more as she thinks of what to say. This isn’t something she enjoys. The feeling of someone saying that are sorry for her. It makes Lorelle feel as though she has to respond. She can’t just wave off the words and pretend they never came out. So instead of ignoring the words, she simply shrugs. “No need to be sorry,” the caring in Lorelle’s voice is gone now. “It was long ago and I didn’t know him that long. Love is fleeting. All love.” The Vantha looks away from Kenna, staring into the fire with a sharp gaze. “Even the love of a child to their parents. That is why when it is there it must be appreciated. Held dear with the knowledge that it will pass. Nothing lasts forever.”

Lorelle doesn’t care if she sounds harsh. She doesn’t care what Kenna thinks of her. She doesn’t really care what anyone thinks of her. That is one thing she has always been. True to herself and her emotions. And her emotions now are reminding her of the pain she has felt over the years. The last four mostly. Her parents wanting her to find someone to take her hand. The love she found and lost. Meville and that strange, hard to remember night. The friends she has gained and lost. Lorelle sighs, staring to the ground. Love. Such a concept. One that Lorelle hasn’t experienced in the traditional sense for many years. It is hard to remember what it feels like.

“Don’t fear death,” she tells Kenna, moving away from the subject of love for a moment. Her gaze turns back to the Kelvic’s own. “It is inevitable. We will all pass from this life. No point in wasting time thinking or fearing it. Death is... it isn’t evil. It is just something that happens. Maybe it is scary, but I think the fear passes once it happens. I guess it depends how you die.” The Vantha shrugs, suddenly wondering what her own death will be like. Fast and painless? Or slow and in pure agony? Maybe somewhere in between? Lorelle shakes her head. No she can’t think about it. She doesn’t need these thoughts rolling around in her head. “I don’t know. I haven’t experienced death. So I couldn’t tell you. If you really wanted to know I guess you should find a ghost to talk to. Though I doubt you want to know for I am the one who brought this up. I think I shall stop now. Don’t want you more fearful than you already are or were.”

Lorelle stops, taking a breath. She feels lost in thought. Talking, but not thinking of Kenna much. Just letting her words ramble throughout the air. Her eyes shift once more as she hugs her knees with her arms. “I am sorry,” she says, her voice growing softer as she stares at one of the fire reimancers. “I do not wish to scare you or sound like one of those annoying songs children sing that never seem to end.” She watches as fire dances through the air. Her eyes follow the light, wondering how they do it. How do they keep control? How do they not burn? “You are a wolf. Wolves are strong. I do not know much that they fear. I doubt death is on that list,” she murmurs, more concentrated on the fire than the conversation with Kenna. “You are right, we never know. Life can be lost within a moment of time. One bell here, the next, being taking through the domains of the gods by Dira.” The Vantha pauses once more, trying to gather her thoughts.

“My advice to you,” Lorelle looks to Kenna once more, “Hold onto love with the knowledge it won’t always be there. Enjoy it to the full extent while it lasts.” She focuses on Kenna’s green eyes with her own shifting ones. “And don’t fear the inevitable. It is a waste of the precious time you have.”

Broken Boundaries [Lorelle]

Kenna couldn't help but smile at her words, Lorelle was amusing and kept things lively so the conversation never got boring. Her honesty was like a slap to the fact but not in the way she may have thought it came across. Sometimes she could have seen the small tinges of sorrow or possibly even doubt framing her features as she looked away. The woman felt exposed to Kenna but at the same time it was as if she didn't care about what others thought about her. That gained some form of respect towards her because not a lot of people could carry themselves in such a way. For the first year of her life, she had always studied others carefully wondering what one were to think of her. Only because she was so caught up in the concept of love somehow she hoped one would think good of her. But Lorelle, no.. She had a different perspective on life that Kenna wished she had but only few were gifted with such a thing.

Her wisdom seemed beyond her years but also displayed that she had gone through much more than needed.
"Lorelle, you know..." Her words seemed to trail off as if she were trying to say something but the words had not been invented to describe it. Her mouth remained agape as she fixated her gaze onto the Vantha, a snicker escaping her lips. "I don't even know how I'm supposed to tell you this.. Um." A tinge of nerves seemed to knaw at her insides as she struggled to tell Lorelle the most simplest of words. Never in her life had she ever been such a way with somebody, normally she was so casual and laid back. The feeling was foreign and felt strange as it churned her stomach to and fro, up and down.

"I'd really like to be friends with you." She whispered, "And you know what they say, Kelvics are the best people to have around." Adding in a small wink, she tucked a blonde lock behind her ear before turning her gaze back to the fire. Kenna wasn't sure how Lorelle would react to her statement, but she couldn't help but feel rejection heading her way. It seemed typical for the woman to push people away but no matter what, this Kelvic couldn't seem to give up on her. Her comfort and honesty seemed to bond well with her and she felt a connection she couldn't entirely understand. It wasn't one of love that an individual would feel for their partner, but almost as a family member. Although, Kenna could have been misplacing her comfort and taking it the wrong way at the same time. In her weakest of moments Lorelle had helped and it wasn't against her own will, but merely curiosity.

Kenna had tried to turn the situation around and focus on something else in a way to forget about it all. Yes, she was using Lorelle at first but once finding herself inside of something she didn't truly understand. Somehow she was hooked and wanted to know more about the woman - What made her angry, what did the color of her eyes mean, her story. But the question was, once she knew all of that, would she become bored or would she stick around?

Lorelle finds herself staring at Kenna in silence once the words leave the Kelvic’s lips. What could she possibly mean? This doesn’t make full sense. Yet, Lorelle doesn’t mind the girl. She is interesting. Or at least seems to be. The Vantha has yet to really get to know her. But that seems to be the point. She wants to know her. She wants to see her get past this loss she has experienced in her life. Lorelle wants to see transformation. All feelings and thoughts that are very foreign to the Vantha herself. She doesn’t normally care for others. Preferring to remain very closed off and away from others. She doesn’t let people get close to her and in return, she doesn’t get close to others. With Kenna she is finding it different and it scares her. She is open to the idea of this getting to know each other. Being friends.

“Is that truly what you mean?” Lorelle asks, her voice calm, collected and curious, “Or did you mean something else? It seems deeper than that. Would you stumble for words so if it was as simply as being friends? Don’t Kelvics need something in their lives? Another person? Like the riders and polar bears that are here. I don’t know what that is called.” She looks at the ground. That seems closer than friendship. Lorelle isn’t sure. She isn’t sure about anything. Lorelle knows she should push Kenna away. Reject her and walk away. That would be the easiest thing. Ignore the girl. Yet, there is this tug telling her not to. A tug that she doesn’t know what to do with. Nor does she understand where it comes from. “Tell me what you truly mean,” she says, her voice an uncharacteristic soft tone as she looks back to Kenna.

The blonde hair girl seems nervous. Lorelle isn’t sure why. Though she guesses Kenna has figured out her nature by now. How she should be rejecting the Kelvic right now.
“I don’t know why, but you interest me. I don’t want to push you away and I should be. That would be the safe route. Why don’t I want to take it?” she speaks her thoughts out loud, somewhat to Kenna but mostly to herself. Sighing, she runs her fingers through her hair again and shifts uncomfortably. “If you need time to think about what you mean, we can always go our separate ways now and figure this out later,” she says, almost hoping the Kelvic goes for this option. That way maybe she can get her emotions back and gather herself more. Then do what she knows she should do now but doesn’t have the heart or want to do. “Say in the spring, meet again then. Talk more. Get to know each other. That is what friends do right?”
