Daedalus Dagwood
Physical Appearance:
Daedalus's frame is not an overly tall or robust. He stands at a height of six foot two inches and weighs a solid two hundred pounds. His brawny body built was built through the hard labor of working a blast furnace, rather than stocky muscle eared through combat training. He has raven black hair that is typically kept cut short to near bald. His umber colored skin is nearly always found coated in soot of some kind from his near constant proximity to the flames of a blast furnace.
Personality:
When Daedalus was a child he was always fascinated by the way the world worked. His mind was always curiously racing to find why things behaved as they did; what actions affected an objects movements. He was always one to build experiments on why trees grew, how nails held things together, why dogs couldn't meow. This curiosity allowed him to grow from a rambunctious boy into ambitious man.
As learned that the world was filled with new things to learn, Daedalus became someone who flitted from idea to idea, passion to passion, and project to project on a whim of enthusiasm.
On the surface, he is typically a man who will always try his best to enjoy the company of others. He loves sharing stories and ideas over pints of ale. He can seamlessly fill the role of a rogue with more enthusiasm than his siblings might like given that he should be the responsible one.
In truth he is a rogue. Someone who is never one to shy away from obtaining the high ground in any given situation. He grew up amidst chaos of Sunberth, and like any true Sunberthain he will simply refuses to succumb to the whims of others who claim to govern him.
His laissez faire attitude changes when Daedalus is working at the forge or blast furnace. He goes from casual rake to serious consummate professional. Daedalus likes to run a strict business in a place where bandits and crime runs rampant. As such, he like many sunberthans, have a much darker side, it contains his anger from a life of living on the edge of danger.

History:
Pre-Creation History (489 a.v. - 512 a.v.)
Daedalus Dagwood was the first child of Vanderlay and Anberlin Dagwood and the eldest brother of Darik , Macy, Dominic, and Gwendoline Dagwood.
He lived in the city of Sunberth, raised under the watchful eyes of disciplinarian parents. Both of Daedalus's parents lived the lives of scientific artisans. His earliest days before his siblings were born were filled with playing with his parents 'toys'. Wooden levers that slowly turned gears, a wheel-and-axle rope to pull a small toy block up an Inclined plane. Things like that were how his parents began to teach Daedalus their craft at a young age.
He was raised into a family which vehemently emphasized scientific discovery, academics, and crafting. By the age of thirteen he had begun his Smithing apprenticeship under his Mother's tutelage at his parents workshop. It was there where he learned how to make products using metalsmithing with a blast furnace, the principals of blacksmith forging techniques, and learned how to combine alloy to make non-ferrous metals such as bronze and brass.
While his mother seemed to teach him how to work metal, it was his father who taught him the arts of carpentry and wood carving to become a novice Gadgeteer. His father was also a lesser animator who once attempted to train as a mage knight in Syliras, although ultimately gave up that squirehood when he fell in love with a woman from Sunberth. Vanderlay passed on what little he knew of magic to Daedalus.
His family distant family on his fathers side resided in Syliras, where Daedalus spent two years when he visited his great grandfather who passed away. During the time, he gave squirehood a try to see if he wanted to stay or not. He trained under the patronage of a knight named Aonwey. And just like his father, he gave up training to return to Sunberth where he has remained.
His parents passed away when their work shop was destroyed during the djed storm of 512 AV. Daedalus has since tried to pick up where his family left off now that he's grown into a man, starting up a foundry of his own called Dagwood Metal, resurrecting the same namesake as his old parents workshop.
