Sure, he had money to last him a while but to return to Zeltiva in year's time he'd need a job. The trip and escorts required to pass through the mountains added up in cost, he was sure six hundred mizas wouldn't be enough. A job was needed and the paper he acquired and filled out the day before would help him find one. Liadan had gone straight from arranging her lodgings at Traveller's Row to the employment office, though it took some twists and turns to find it. She found the stack of papers near the door and very slowly filled a form out in awkward, childish lettering.

She breathed a sigh of guilty relief when it was done, then swaggered to the front desk to pass it in, affecting a bravado she didn't feel. Experience as a sailor in Zeltiva might not qualify her to serve on a ship here, especially without the years or training that a human would have. She resisted scowling at the thought, placed the form silently on the counter and stood back to wait.

Trega stared at the next man curiously after taking his sheet. It was the first time that she had met a kelvic who claimed to have empathy for all animals just because they were kelvic. The part about hunting wasn't a surprise as most kelvics seem to have that skill. She was then surprised that he wanted a job Bartending, as a Stablehand, or Dockworker. None of which had the same skills set. "Hello young man. We do need help at the docks, it's hard work but it does pay well enough I believe. If this job is ok I will put you down for it."

He walked up to the desk and grabbed a form from the tray that was placed on the desk and a quill, and begun filling it out.

After he finished filling out his form he silently handed it to the worker at the desk, and sat down in one of the chairs in the room waiting for his name to be called.

Noah nodded respectfully to his elder with a small smile. "That job is fine, ma'am," he said politely. He had been hoping for that job. All the jobs that he had put down all had something in common, that something was that they wouldn't remind him of hunting where, even though jobless, hunting seemed like a full time occupation at home. At least with dockworking he could think about Zeltiva every now and again, but Syliras was very much unlike the city hidden by the mountains. It actually snowed here. Immediately Noah had the urge to write to his family, to tell them what he did and to hope they would respond proudly. That sent a butterfly down his throat in a panicked flutter that stopped in his stomach. He pushed away from the desk, almost forcing himself to move.
