PC Name’s: Jaeden Kincade
Physical Information
Race: Human
Birthday & Age: Day 20 Summer 484 / Apparent age: 28, Real Age: 26
Gender: Male

Physical Description:
Jaeden stands a little above average height for humans at 6' 4" tall. He has an athletic medium to large build depending on who or which race you ask to compare such a build to. While he normally keeps his gaze lowered, many see strong facial features to a round, yet sturdy jaw, a strait rounded nose, to
Image piercing dark brown eyes. His hair is short and black in color save for a small streak of white along the back right side of his hair. Jaeden can usually be found wearing a dark colors in terms of clothing, from black and dark brown leathers and cloths, to his black leather boots. Whether this is a reflection upon his personality or just simple tactical preferences, no one has gotten an answer as yet.

Character Concept:
Personality- Jaeden seems somewhat reserved when one first meets him, keeping his comments or answers somewhat short. This stems from a simple "cautious by nature" attitude that seemed to be imprinted upon him at a young age. After he feels comfortable enough that he can trust you, most then see a total reverse in personality as he could talk for hours on end about nothing if his conversation partner doesn't stop him. For those that really know him, which is very few indeed, Jaeden is a good natured, very light hearted flirt, despite his initial reserved demeanor. He tends not to take hardly anything seriously and will often quip jests mid battle, though he dislikes conflict outside of just casual sparing or practice. Jaeden is fiercely protective of those he considers close.

Ethics- Jaeden has no serious concept of good or evil in the grand scheme of things, but generally what will affect him directly. He generally dislikes conflict with others, but won't shy away or back down if his hand is forced. While he can shrug off the assault of perfect stranger in the plain sight, he will go to great lengths to help someone he considers close, even if it involves killing several people. To him, life is more about the bonds one establishes with another than some idealistic cause or ambition of power.

ImageLikes- Relaxing settings, camping, exploration, flirting(even if he's bad at it sometimes), the splendor that is the nude female form(doesn't matter what race), cherry flavored liquor, time spent with close friends.

Dislikes- Jaeden has no serious dislikes and is considerably tolerable towards most things save a few. Those that hurt(emotionally or physically) someone he considers close whether a friend or lover is the first, and Jaeden will do anything in his power to shelter that individual. The second is witnessing a families home being torched by aggressors. It is one of the few things that will set Jaeden off into a blind rage. It will not matter to him who the aggressors are of the reason why they are setting the home on fire, he will attack them unless someone is there to stop him. He has also, in less distant past, discovered a disliking of slavers.

Character History
Jaeden Kincade wasn't one who was destined for greatness, but like many others in the lands, he was a victim of tragedy. When he was only six years old, Jaeden's family had built a home far from any settlement, his parents not wanting to be in any major settlement in the event war broke out and they would be swept into the middle of it.

Perhaps it was the naivete of thinking that any group looking to raid a settlement for food and goods would overlook a small quaint home, that brought about the killing of Jaeden's Mother, Father and older sister. Jaeden himself, at that time, had been hidden away behind a large hill over two hundred yards away. As such, he caught no real glimpse of his family's killers, only black silhouettes in the foreground of the large fire that consumed his home and bodies of his dead family.

After lying on that hill for what seemed like forever, silently crying to himself over his loss, Jaeden finally stood, and made his way back to the ashes that used to be him home and family. Sifting through the ashes, the only thing he found to still be remotely intact a small necklace that had a gold pendant that his sister wore. Jaeden slipped the necklace over his head and then just began aimlessly wandering as the base instinct of hunger forced him to seek out sustenance. Of those that he encountered in his travel over the week, several turned him away, few offered him barely scraps, and one tried to capture him as means of selling him.

A week had passed, a week of walking, barely any food or water, and no shelter. It had, like many before him, taken it's tole on Jaeden as he finally collapsed at the edge of a small forest. He was scared, hungry, and alone, and it seemed to him as though reaching out for help was futile in the long run. With only energy enough to breath, Jaeden simply closed his eyes, and fell asleep, scared but accepting that it may have been the last time he closed his eyes.

To his surprise, however, Jaeden's eyes opened and he found himself surrounded by woods. He looked down to see he had been cleaned, and that any scrapes, cuts and wounds he had picked up in his travels had been bandaged. Looking to his right, he then saw a campfire, and a large man sitting in front of it, eating. The size of the man startled Jaeden, he was at twice the size his father was, and he jumped back from where he sat, creating more distance between them.

"Yer gonna spill yer food pup," the man said in a deep, gruff voice as he looked over at Jaeden. It was then that Jaeden first noticed the large scar over the area where the man's left eye would have been. The initial sight of it caused Jaeden to cringe. "What? Overwhelmed by how pretty I am," the large man said with a wide smile, "Anyhow, eat up. Unless you want the bugs to get it."

Jaeden finally looked down near the fire to see a plate of meat of some bird, some bread and a few plants that looked as though they had been gathered very recently. It was more food in one setting than he had seen in close to a week, and the hunger that drove him finally kicked in as he greedily began to eat it. It didn't take him long to finish, and soon after fatigue took over him again as he fell asleep.

The next morning, when he woke, Jaeden saw the large man gathering his things and getting ready to set out. Looking down on him, the large man grinned once again. "Pup, you were eating last night like yer belly was rubbing a blister along yer backbone. Best learn how to hunt or trap if ya want to survive," the large man said before throwing his pack over his shoulder. "Anyhow, good luck to ya."

Without another word, the large man then began walking away. Jaeden was in a small amount of disbelief. Of all the people that he had encountered, those that seemed the least imposing had either offered him no help or just enough to make him go away and worse. Yet, the man who initially frightened him the most turned out to be the most generous.

Jaeden immediately picked himself up off the ground and chased after the large man and simply began following him. The large man seemed to pay no attention to this initially, but only continued to walk. Jaeden found it difficult to keep up with him as the large man's step gained over four times the distance than Jaeden's did, but Jaeden managed. A half hour had passed before the large man finally stopped, releasing a sigh. "Pup seems to be the right nickname for ya," the large man said before turning around and looking down to Jaeden. "Feed a stray and it'll start following you."

Jaeden didn't say anything in return, but simply looked up at the man with a certain curiosity in his eyes. "You a runaway boy? Where's yer family?" the large man then inquired.

Jaeden then simply looked down to the ground, the reminder the question brought causing sorrow to appear on his face. "Ah, I see," the large man then said as he folded those massive arms of his. "Well then, what to do? I don't mind charity work, but it's a pain to pick up a stray. What to do?"

Jaeden looked up to the large man, dragging his forearm over his eyes to wipe clean the tears that he had shed, but he remained silent and a look of determination then crossed his face. The large man then flashed a wide smile at that look before crouching down, his large hand resting atop Jaeden's head. "Careful what you wish for," the large man said. "What's yer name?"

"Jaeden," Jaeden answered simply.

"Wrong," the large man said, "yer name is Pup from here on out. Until I deem you've earned the name yer parent's gave you back, that is who you are. I am Gin Olevar, but you will call me Master Olevar. Now say it."

"Yes, Master Olevar," Jaeden replied.

"Louder," Gin replied.

"Yes, Master Olevar," Jaeden replied in a louder tone.

"Louder!" Gin then said, a sternness in his voice.

"Yes Master Olevar!" Jaeden said, raising his voice.

"LOUDER!" Gin now yelled.

"MASTER OLEVAR!!!" Jaeden finally yelled, his voice echoing.

Then there was silence as Gin stared at the child for a long time. He then began patting Jaeden's head as a smile crossed his features. "Jeeze, it's embarrassing to hear you call me Master so many times," Gin said causing Jaeden to get the feeling he was now being made fun of.

"Let's go Pup," Gin the said, tossing a large sack into Jaeden's arms, the weight slowing him down. "Eat the food inside until you can't eat no more, and keep up with me while doing so. Gotta put some meat on yer bones if you're going to live through my training."

Gnosis :
Ranuri: lvl 1 Gnosis Mark
A person marked by Nikali is granted the first level of Ranuri. This gnosis gives them a unique appeal or allure that people (of either sex) are drawn to inexplicably. They tend to be trusted more easily than others would be. People find them good listeners, while they have the ability to pick out the actual ‘trouble’ when someone confides a problem to them. Their gift, Ranuri, allows them to have a sense what the other person needs are regardless of what sort of need it is. This can be something as simple as a few hours of helping an elderly woman plant her spring flowers to knowing exactly what a partner’s preference is in a physical relationship. Above that, they can augment the pleasure a person feels in preforming a needed task, be it the same planting or mutual physical contact. Ranuri have a knack for being excellent salesmen because they tend to know immediately upon a handshake what a customer is looking for (whether the customer knows it or not). And they have a knack for making mutually profitable trades and arrangements of all kinds. At this level, Ranuri only works when the mark bearer is in direct contact (as in touching skin to skin) with the person who’s needs they seek to know. Casual contact, such as being brushed accidentally in a crowded market can be agony to a Ranuri because they are hit with wave upon wave of needs they feel compelled to preform. A Ranuri can resist these urges, but it takes a strong mental capacity. A Ranuri who is marked is restricted to providing for the needs of one individual at a time.

Happenchance
7 Charges Left:
At least one half of the pair will bestow the mark in person. The mark is given in times of crisis, prefaced by an inquiry as to the mortal’s willingness to take a chance or gamble. In the moment of the mark’s bestowal, a random change occurs. This miraculous event is accompanied by a colorful rain of light.

The mark can be activated at any time by the wielder using only his will, but with each use the mark dissipates. When the mark vanishes physically, the power leaves as well. A single mark will generally allow for six to eight uses.

Changes the activation can incur are temporary if mental and permanent if physical. For example, if you activate the mark and your captor is suddenly overcome with love for you, this effect is temporary and best be capitalized on quickly. But if the mark suddenly turns every weapon in the room, including yours, into fresh plums, your father’s sword is forever a snack.

Special Items :
Woodland Wrath: A divine bow gifted to him by the Goddess of Nature, Caiyha. At first glance, the bow simply looks like a gnarled piece of wood, a branch broken off of a tree. Beyond it's appearance lies a special power. Woodland Wrath fires arrows faster than most mundane bows, but it's true gift lies in it's ability to damage most any summoned/alien creature in one or two shots. With this power comes a price, however, as each shot fired drains at Jaeden's life, take a year of his life for each shot fired. As well, any damage done to Woodland Wrath uses Jaeden's life to repair itself.

Jaeden Kincade

The Family Before:

Marcus Kincade Image
Strong, calm and disciplined in his work ethic, Marcus Kincade never seemed to have a complaint in the world, even when things seemed to be at their worst. In Marcus’ eyes, he had everything a man could ask for. A loving wife, two children and a home away from the noises of a city. As long as he had those, he was content in life. He was the type of man who would show his wife affection at any chance, even while working the small farm they had built, to always dote on his daughter and be strict with his son. It wasn’t so much that he favored Andrea over Jaeden, it’s that he raised Jaeden with the intention of him being so much more in his adult life that Marcus was in his. In the end, expected great things for Jaeden.

Some might speculate that it was, in the end, Marcus’ fault that he, his wife and his daughter ultimately died in their small home, eventually burned to death. That he should have never moved his family so far away from the safety of Syliras. Jaeden himself never truly saw it that way and to this day, keeps the vague memories of his father being a man who deserved great respect and admiration. A man who always stood by his word, and never gave in, even up to his death.

Emma Kincade Image
Where Marcus was disciplined, Emma was soft. Marcus’ wife was always the balance in their family’s life that Marcus felt he could never do without. Always soft spoken, and quick with a kind word, Emma was the one who often taught Andrea to form a strong bond with her younger brother and was the one who kept Jaeden from fearing his father’s strict ways for him, teaching him to respect and love his father for them.

Every night, without fail, Emma would be at the bedside of her children, no matter how tired she may have been after a long days work. Jaeden fondly remembers his mother as the one to always nurture him, to help him grow emotionally when his father handled the physical and mental. There she would read them a story or sing them a song, lulling them both to sleep. For Emma, her family always came first, no exception. To Jaeden’s horror, it was Emma’s screams he first heard that night that his family was killed, pleading to whomever was responsible to take her and leave the rest alive, showing that, despite her soft spoken nature, she had courage that would do even the mightiest warrior proud, and a selflessness that would stir the emotion of Sylir, had he been around to feel it.

Andrea Kincade Image
Possibly the best friend that Jaeden can still remember having. Quick with the wit and humor, always playing pranks and constantly playing games with her younger brother, Jaeden remember Andrea vividly the most. While his mother and father’s image are always there and never fade, his day to day life with his sister is something he remembers with crystal clear detail. While she was almost eight years Jaeden’s elder, Andrea was still a kid at heart, and would constantly be dragging Jaeden off into the forest to find some form of fun.

As well, she was fiercely protective of Jaeden, having protected him once from a Bobcat that Jaeden had stumbled upon in the forest near their home. When her end came, the screams he heard from her hit him the hardest, not because of the screams themselves, but due to the fact that she continuously yelled to stay down until she could scream no more. She hadn’t used his name, but in the end, he knew they were directed at him, likely confused by the family’s aggressor as the deluded yells of someone taken beyond their threshold of pain. In the end though, her words were meant for Jaeden, telling him to remain hidden, knowing where he was. And to Jaeden’s everlasting regret, he did.

Gin Olevar Image
While Jaeden will always fondly remember his family, and feel that no one can, nor will ever replace them, Olevar was the man Jaeden saw responsible for ultimately raising him to be the man he is today. Stern and disciplined like his Father, caring a nurturing like his mother, playful and quick witted like his sister, Jaeden saw Olevar being almost all of his family pushed into one body. Perhaps Jaeden had been projecting emotionally in that aspect, but in the end, he could see Olevar in no other light, even if he could never fully replace what he had lost.

Olevar, a master woodsman, hunter and survivalist, discovered Jaeden when he was next to death. While most others would have ignored or forced Jaeden into slavery upon their discovery, Olevar was the one who sheltered him and nursed him back to health. Inevitably, after Jaeden began following Olevar like a stray dog who had been fed scraps, Olevar decided to take Jaeden under his wing, teaching him the trait of a Wilderness Survivalist. For twelve years, Jaeden trained hard under Olevar’s guidance, and in all those years he only learned of one thing concerning Olevar’s past. The tale of Olevar’s bow, Woodland Wrath, and how he came about it was one that Jaeden himself found intriguing to hear. In the end, however, everything else about the man remained a mystery.

The Family Now:

Red Image
Curious, strong willed and showing a strong determination, Red was the exception to the rule Jaeden placed on himself to never let a Kelvic bond with him. In the overall picture, Jaeden found the bond that forces all Kelvics to seek out and couple with another for companionship a blurry line of slavery. Jaeden first met Red through a traveling game caravan. For a small fee, these hunters set loose animals locked up in crates, and challenged other hunters to kill the most in a set amount of time. Jaeden ultimately declined participation himself, finding hunting as a sport deplorable, and an affront to Caiyha herself in the long run.

Caiyha’s will for balance and punishing those who would spit on it eventually was acted out by Jaeden himself when he encountered Red. Running scared from one of the participants, and taking shelter behind Jaeden’s leg, it quickly dawned on Jaeden what these “hunters” and their leader, Brok, were allowing the contestants to hunt. The first contestant eventually forced Jaeden’s hand as he killed him before fleeing with red and removing the collar that bound her to animal form.

His suspicions had eventually been confirmed through Red’s own words, and with her, Jaeden eventually killed Brok and his crew, acquiring several injuries in the process. With Red, still at his side as he rode back to Syliras, Jaeden found between his injuries, Ranuri’s influence, and his own growing need, that he completely and totally allowed the bond to happen, without resistance. And so to this day, both Red and Jaeden still travel together. Even if Jaeden told her to stay behind at any time, Red’s strong will and determination inevitably brings her to his side.
