I'd like to set up a small adventure for the Spring. I'd like to visit the Purple Forest and Lavender Ruins. This will likely be a small time adventure (gods and mods withstanding). I have an important announcement to make. All Knight and Patron Knight NPCs in the NPC Master List thread have been updated with Gnosis marks from Sylir as per the lore. Please note that every Knight NPC submission in the Syliras NPC Request Page thread should have the Sylir gnosis mark, even if you don't put it, we STs will put it once the NPC is approved.

That's all and happy plotting!

P.S: Remember that squires don't have the mark yet, for example, Lilly Grant there is a squire so she doesn't have Sylir's mark.

AN UNFORTUNATE ANNOUNCEMENT

As some of you might have noticed Accolade's name is now grey. I have promised in the past to always be transparent. This situation is no different. Accolade didn't retire. He was issued an uninvite. I know this is going to come as a shock to some of you because Accolade wore many hats and had many faces. His best face was his public face and that's what most of us saw and related too, especially you folks who are strictly PCs.

When I knew the public face and rp'd with that individual, there was nothing I wouldn't do for him and there was nothing I could say that would be remotely bad.

Unfortunately it wasn't his only face nor his only hat.

In the past six months or more, a new side has emerged and that side tangled with several head tier staffers on the site and stressed them out a great deal. I wasn't aware of the situation until that came full bore to me as well and touched me when I tangled with him about one of his PCs in one of my cities. It was as if a stranger or more than one person were playing his characters. I too had a very unpleasant experience in which he told me he had zero faith in my awesome Cyphrus Staff, refused to conform to NPC rules, and would not run plots by my Cyphrus staff helping the Kenash folks. This escalated. He stated favoritism was rampant in the game and that since no one else conformed to the rules of the game we have in place, he wouldn't be doing so either. This included doing job threads, earning income, and paying seasonal expenses and properly dealing withthings like travel.

We have threaded together as PCs extensively as some of you know in RF and he up and dropped all threads with my PC after this incident in Kenash on his Dhani. I can only think that he was angry that I didn't give him special privileges to make and kill high level NPCs at his discretion and to drive his bottom line plot goals. I told him he could craft plots and NPCs, but they needed approval. This is the same for just about every city everywhere regardless of region and ST. You have a lot of RP freedom here on Mizahar, but you must involve the STs so they know whats going on in their cities.

He refused. This was about the same time Translucent was retired because she was involved with his problem attitude PC and getting in trouble herself for not requiring the game traditions to be followed and not following them herself. I removed her from staff about this time because cleaning up those messes was more work than it was worth having someone on staff making them.

He was not happy.

When asked why he dumped all his threads in RF... his reasoning? He wasn't 'feeling' the PC anymore or feeling like threading and he'd let me know when he felt more like it if ever down the line. So I turned in all our threads together for partial credit and moved on with my PC. I don't do bad attitudes OOC well. Bad attitudes IC is always a welcome thing. This uninvite situation isn't about the RF situation, but I mention it because I bet some of you might be speculating due to some of the nasty posts hes made in RF in regards to it.

Moving on...

A few days ago I asked him to please update his CS's on his PCs, pay seasonal expenses, pay travel costs, and all the reasonable things an RS or Founder would ask of a PC. All his PCs across the board had ledger issues. I've asked some of you to do these very same things. Why? I keep track of staff PCs in the regions they moderate because they are in essence policing themselves and we all know how that can go. A checks and balance system works a lot better. He wouldn't do it. Instead, this resulted in a very heated set of PMs sent to me telling me just exactly how he felt on things, including name calling - including calling my PC names. It didn't stop with my character, he dug into my RL personality too and raged about issues on staff that happened years before he was here and that he had no real way to have knowledge of.

Enough is enough.

The bottom line? I feel he felt he was untouchable because he was a DS of a busy city. He's not. The Staff of this site should be beyond reproach. Their CS's should be up to date or as close to it as possible. They can't ignore things like cost of living, moving expenses, and pretend they don't exist or get hostile when someone asks them to update a ledger.

I do not do hostile well. It has no place in OOC interactions. IC? Go for it.

Syliras has spent long periods of time still on top of the word count and thread count without any leadership at all. I cannot have staff in place that refuse to conform to the very rules they enforce in others. It's hypocritical. I hope you can understand that.

So... I wanted to tell you why Accolade is grey. He did not retire. He was given a pink slip for a really piss poor attitude. I know some of you will find this hard to believe, but those of you who have been exposed to this or have tangled with it understand why I did it and why it HAD to happen.

And as it is, he's been in a rage this morning deleting threads in the wiki... things like the price list and important landing pages etc. Radiant was in there rolling them back with one click as he was doing so. You can see for yourself here clicking on the Recent Changes link. I'm sorry folks. It is what it is, but enough is enough. When people act like this, I have to act to protect the site and the players. I ask no more of the staff than they ask of you. We need to be fair across the board.

And as it stands, you are very lucky. The ink wasn't even dry on the uninvite when someone stepped up to take the leadership of Syliras and did so without hesitation. The app is already in the HD. So you won't be DSless for longer than a day or two. I did not plan this before hand. The person stepping up wasn't aware this was going down, though they have carried the lion's share of the burden of the city for a while now... so its not a stranger's face you will be seeing.

I hope you guys continue to have fun in Syliras, keep it a top word count city like its been for ages, and don't let this cause you a moments hesitation in terms of your IC goals and dreams.
