The Kelvic had never thought of it that way. Practice to know how to respond in a real situation. It made sense, Sei made sense, so Halona resolved to pay more attention to the basics as he said. Shifting limbs into the allotted positions in which Sei probed them she looked at him for approval. She attempted to relax her muscles more and ease into the stance. It felt comfortable almost natural and yet it still seemed a little odd. Holding her hands defensively in front instead of curled by her sides, fists balled instead of hooked like claws. It took a little getting used to but she managed to put up with it and fought reverting back to her old habits.

Avidly watching her teacher demonstrate the technique he referred to as a punch she took mental notes like any good and willing student. Amber eyes observed how Sei threw out his arm in a precise and practiced motion, extending it sharply from its previous bend then returning it back ready to defend. It was fascinating and she eagerly gave it a try at Sei’s indication.

Trying to adhere to the other Kelvic’s advice, the blonde pictured the Kelvic tiger’s punch how he turned his body slightly as he extending his limb and tried to copy it. Try wasn’t even the word for it, focusing so much on trying to get the technique perfect she was literally putting her arm forward in slow motion. It must have seen as if she was mocking her teacher and she quickly recalled her arm. Lips pursed, she threw forth a sloppy punch in her haste to produce something worthwhile. She threw a couple more, sloppier than the last frustrated that they didn’t own up to Sei’s. Then she stopped, looking up at the dark haired main abruptly, impatience seething through her voice she asked. “Just how long does it take to learn this…punch?”

It was taking forever and though she was a patient enough hunter, she was not a patient learner. She wanted to learn this skill now, master it now, use it on an enemy or spare with Sei, now. Her expression was that of a spoiled child, so used to getting what she wanted when she wanted it. Impatient, frustrated and annoyed.

Sei watched Halona with curiosity. He admittedly wasn't at all skilled, but compared to Halona he was a master. Her moves were sloppy, but he could tell she was trying and listening well by the determined look in her eyes. He also though of something that seemed very likely from watching the other Kelvic. Is it possible Halona never used fisticuffs in her human form? He turned to face Halona again.

"Halon--" Before he could voice his assumption he was cutoff by Halona. He instantly forgot his worries and laughed hard enough to kill himself, before calming down and stating in a serious manner:
"A punch? About two years." He said seriously. He then busted into laughter again before telling her it was just a joke. "You have to get comfortable with what your doing. Anyway, all you have to do is practice. I'm definitely no expert, but knowing the basics has saved my arse more times than I can count."

Sei shifted back into his orginal stance, and began to speak. "Another basic attack is kicking. I like to think all the power comes from your hips, but I like to turn full body to make one." He explained. He demonstrated as slow as he could without falling over, and turned to Halona. He would wait until Halona finished practice then initiate a test. "To give you a better handle on how to flow your moves, were going to spar. Come at me."
