She pushed her bottom lip out in thought. The wishing well? It sounded quite similar to her.
Kenny’s Wishing Well? No it wasn’t that. She pitched the bridge of her nose and thought about it. Kova’s Wishing Well, bounced to the front of her brain. She almost wanted to sigh. It wasn’t really a place to laugh and have fun but it was an interesting place. Nilika only nodded and grabbed at his sleeve. “Well show me the way.” She didn’t know where it was at, due to her just wandering and ended up seeing it. “So what do you like to do or eat,” she tried to make small talk as they walked.
Now that she thought about it, she doesn’t really know Edwyn all that well. How long since she known him. Maybe 6 or 7 days, she couldn’t remember how many days but she still nonetheless; was happy about the bond. Even though, it was still confusing how she could feel some of his emotion through it. However, it was comforting to the young Konti; sometimes she has this sense of knowing where he is at.
She really needed to look into this bonding, hopefully she could travel back home once she has saved enough money to do so. Her grandma probably knew about everything, but that thought flew the nest. She still needed to get the concept that her grandma didn’t know everything.
Nilika looked around and smiled as she walked alongside Edwyn.

Nilika gave a small nod taking his wrist into her surprisingly strong grasp once more “Well show me the way.” She said expectantly though Edwyn scarcely heard, his attention suddenly caught by a brightly dressed man loudly announcing his wares from behind an extravagant sign declaring- well something… Edwyn could not read the words, the letters left meaningless to him, whatever the case he was intrigued, though something bothered him, what was it?... His gaze shot back to Nilika mind springing to her remark as she had been staring at him in growing silence for several seconds. She wanted me to show her the way to somewhere… some kind of well? Oh- oh yeah! Kova’s well, that’s it.
“Eh- yeah it’s this way.” He said awkwardly hurrying off almost forgetting to wait up for her in his sudden earnest. Fingers tightened about his wrist and he slowed to a walk beside her; trying to keep a relatively steady pace.
People who passed by spoke in raised voices and hushed tones the fall of their feat an ever present rhythm upon the long road their noise a tapestry of sound weaving in and out to create the larger picture. In such a commotion He couldn’t help but over hearing a few words, a hello here, a goodbye there, some he didn’t even recognize like strange crackling tongues or long drawn about words that seemed to go on forever. They reminded him of when Nilika had spoken as well in such a strange way. How could people remember such things? Keep it all organized in there head? Edwyn didn’t even think he could attempt to pronounce that let alone try to speak like it. Why didn’t people just speak the same way? Wouldn’t it save a lot of trouble? He mused on this in silence glad for the sunshine even if it be dull and devoid of warmth, it was good to be out of those hallways.
“So what do you like to do or eat,” Nilika questioned suddenly
It was a moment before he responded; hesitantly at first though he was beginning to become more at ease talking with Nilika, his voice not stuttering quite so much “Well um… I play the flute” he responded shaken from his previous thoughts by her abrupt query though none the less one hand danced across the fletched wooden rod still held against his thigh. “Other than that… I guess I just eat what’s around, haven’t really thought much about it.” a moment passed in which Edwyn remembering the once invigorating taste of sausage in his canine mouth even with a small amount of dirt and dust that had been present as well. Speaking up he finally said with a shrug and thin smile “pork isn’t bad… had it once.”
The two walked on, half a chime and they passed a loud and boisterous group singing what sounded like some sort of sailing tune high and fast. “What about you?” Edwyn asked curiously the notes of the men soon draining away behind them.

Nilika hummed her head in understanding. Edwyn looked like he didn’t have much money to really but meals, but she wasn’t one to judge others easily. After hearing about the food of choice he likes, she made a mental note to visit Butcher of Alban. The statement about playing the flute didn’t so much come to a surprise to the young Konti. Ever since she met him, which wasn’t long in reality, she has always seen him with that flute hanging out of his pocket or somewhere near him.
She smiled as they talked around the crowds, as the people around them chattered one about their life. Nilika caught wind of a couple fighting over who should buy the covers or something. She let out a soft laugh and continued to walk on with Edwyn. She looked over to look at a loud group of people and cringed away from their voices. The air wasn’t as cold as the early part of the season. It was after all close to turning spring.
The little looked up the taller one of the pair after he said his question. She was a little stumped on how to answer the question. There wasn’t really anything that she was particularly into. She loved to snow, maybe something like that. To be honest, she was really stuck on how to reply to him. Twisting her lips to the side, she thought over about what to say. “I like snow,” she said sternly. “It’s white and pure. It cannot feel nor can it hurt unless in the wrong environment. It’s—,” she didn’t get to finish before tumbling over a running child that ran by.

The two walked on as Nilika seemed to ponder the question. Finally speaking up she spoke in a steadfast way, her answer surprising Edwyn. He had never really thought of snow like that. Rather, when he was especially thirsty it was something to stave of the lack of water as long as one didn’t mind the sudden chill and of course it was excruciatingly cold when it got under his fur; just the thought in fact made him want to shake away the imaginary clumps, though “white and pure”? That was new, he turned wanting to ask what she meant when without warning a child sprinted past, jovial shouts spilling from him as he slammed roughly into Nilika’s leg making her topple forwards to the unyielding stone. Edwyn let out a short whelp of alarm, trying to catch her shoulder though he was far too late, hand merely landing upon open air as she hit the ground mercilessly. For a long moment Edwyn simply stood unsure what to do before stooping quickly to his knees beside her.
“Nilika are you alright?” he asked voice wavering. For a second he put out one hand then pulled it back not wanting to accidentally make things worse; the palm falling instead empty to the ground. People brushed by, the boy long gone; a few gave open looks while others slitted glares and still others gnashing teeth in anger at the pair whom dared take up so much of the road. Even so Edwyn did not move from where he was crouched at Nilika’s side.

She saw the ground come up fast and started to panic. The little kid had made her lose her balance. This was probably what she got for letting her guard down. With a thud, the Konti made contact with the stony ground. From how hard she fell, she just knew that she would have a bruise somewhere. Nilika looked at the stone ground underneath her. A blush came to her face as her eyes welted up with tears a little. A small tear fell down her rosy cheeks. It was so embarrassing to have fallen like that, especially in a crowded place. It was like the first time she entered the city. She had fallen right in front of the Knight.
Pulling herself up to her knees, she continued to look at the ground, her bangs covered her eyes that refused to let the tears fall. The blush deepen as she saw, from the corner of her eyes, Edwyn kneeled down next to her. She didn’t want him to see her cry. Nilika wanted to be looked upon as a strong person to him. A sigh was let out after hearing Edwyn speak. She nodded for her response and slowly stood.
She brushed her cloak off of the dirt and looked towards the people who glared at the pair. Nilika didn’t really care about what they thought. There was no reason to care to be exact. People shall forever judge things. But up a glare herself, she watched as people went about their day and ignored the pair. She sighed in annoyance and put a hand out to help Edwyn up. “Sorry about that,” her blush deepening.

Nilika pushed herself upright with an unproclaiming nod; curtain of hair veiling her face as she stared downwards defiantly to the road. Edwyn waited stomach clenched for what seemed like bells, far overhead three birds squabbled over something clutched in the victor’s beak though the squawks soon melted into the overall jabbering croud that swirled about them along with the hawking of wares and cruel slashing tongues. Nilika stood up, hands curtly brushing bits of gravel and dirt from her cloak as she seemed to regain composure enough to look at him. Her face was blushed and lips set she offered a hand that he took with guilt welling up in his chest gaze falling the hardpacked earth and stone.
Nilika’s words caused him to look up her face reddening into a deep scarlet, scales glimmering almost translucently against her skin. Why was she sorry? If anything it should have been him apologizing, perhaps if he had just been able to catch her or maybe if he had been paying attention he would have noticed and then he could have- well he wasn’t sure though something… he spoke with a gulp “it’s uh, fine”
Silence for a few moments and Edwyn looked around uncomfterably his freckled skin prickling with cold where the air had seeped through his cloak, the fabrics itching weight making him yearn for his own fur. Finally looking back at Nilika the strange scales seemed to glimmering against the morning sunlight like a rainbow against her skin. Without meaning to he thought out loud, blatantly asking “why do you have scales? Are you a fish?” suddenly realizing his mistake he continued franticly “not that I have any problems with fish- I ah haven’t eaten any at least- well unless you count that one time but in my defense I wasn’t really sure if that was a fish it kind of just smelled good- and that wasn’t because I didn’t like them I- I ah was just hungry and all- but i- i-…”

She blinked owlishly at Edwyn’s questions. Now thinking back on it, she never really told him what race she was. Before she could even open her mouth, he started to spurt out all kind of nonsense that seemed jumbled up to her. Nilika laughed at the way he was trying to explain himself. She had laughed so hard that she had to hold her stomach. The boy looked so lost and frazzled. One thing that stuck out to her was that he thought she was a fish.
“No I’m not a fish,” she said after taking deep breathes. She wrapped one arm around the Kelvic’s shoulder and walked through the crowd. “I’m a Konti if you must know. My race comes from the ocean from what my mother has told me. As for you question I need scaled to breathe underwater. And,” she tried to stifle her laughter, “there is nothing wrong with liking fish.”
Nilika couldn’t hold it in and started laughing again, but much more controllable. “I tend to eat it myself,” she said with a cat like grin. If one did not know better, she would appear be the very beast herself. “Enough about me. What about we talk about you? I barely know you that much,” Nilika suggested as they blended more into the crowd.

Edwyn gave a small gulp his feat shuffling as he looked to where Nilika stood almost afraid of her reaction to his regretted words. Opening his mouth to apologies the plea died in his throat for suddenly Nilika shook violently, her small form bent into fits of- of- laughter? Edwyn blinked mouth briefly agape in confusion as she collapsed into another bout eyes clenched in apparent hilarity before finally gasping for breath she looked at him mouth wrought into a giddy smile. Speaking she took him by the shoulders and pulled them both back to a walking pace, her thin arm wrapped around the back of his cloaked neck as the two once more resumed their step. Listening to Nilika’s words the Kelvic’s cheeks blazed with shame from his mistake, though none the less he couldn’t help but wonder; how could people breathe underwater? Let alone live under it? Edwyn remembered the cold choppy waves that crashed against the city’s docks, its freezing liquid layered with dead algae and grime, just the thought of jumping in that water-… not to mention the taste, disgusting, he’d retched for chimes after once trying to drink it… that hadn’t been a great day...
the woolen strung hood pulled back roughly against his head from another gust of chilling wind, flakes of snow and discarded papers flew past like a flock of birds- a starling soared over head its blue-black wings beating franticly, what would it be like to fly? Never touch the ground and just soar on and on and on? What kept those birds from falling through the air? Maybe it was the wind? Or maybe-
Nilika spoke again her words soft yet questioning pulling him from his imagination and leaving him at a complete blank, what about him? The Kelvic wondered shaking his head to clear his mind. “Well I- I uhm-“ he tried to think of something to say. “I think I’ve lived here all my life- I uhm- I play the flute…I guess my parents must’ve given it to me or something-” His voice changed slightly from its usual light heartedness almost like the twanging of a broken string.”, I’ve always really had it- like my name, I must’ve been to young to remember getting it though I know the word.”

She looked forwards as they continued to walk. Nilika hummed with understanding his predicament. A memory slid slowly to the front of her consciousness. She never knew her father ever seen him. Her mother never really talked about him. Every time Nilika tried to ask the woman, the older would always change the topic onto how she was doing or other mumbo jumbo. Sometimes it would end up with the Konti stay outside due to her mother’s temper from being asked so many questions. Lucky for her, her grandma always came by and opened the door during those times.
Nilika smiled at the way he stuttered out some of his sentences, it was cute in a way of its own. Her bondmate sounded a bit sad in a way also, so she did what she knew wasn’t right. It could be seen as a sign of invading privacy but she didn’t care at the moment. She wanted know if he was really sad at all. Her bare hands rose to his pale, freckled cheeks and stopped right before they could touch him. Bracing herself, she placed her hands on him. A surge of a type of depression reached to her heart. Tears prickled up a little at her eyes. Wiping them away quickly, she smiled.
She pulled her hands away and jumped in front of him. Snow pressed down into the ground from her impact connecting to the earth. Her eyes were enlightened with electricity that was excited. A sly smirk marred her once blank canvas of a face. Nilika looked her friend in the eyes and started to laugh.
“What about we do something fun,” she asked rhetorically.
“Oooo I know,” her eyes almost as wide as saucers,
“let’s do a prank.” She tried not to giggle at the end. When was little her friend and she would always do mischievous things. Her body was literally shaking with excitement. Both of them needed this, something to get their minds off of sad and boring stuff.
OOCIf you are confused about what she's doing in the second paragraph it her Konti Gift Touch of SadnessTouch of Soundness

Edwyn looked away briefly, Nilika remaining silent as their steps soon once more became the only sounds to be heard besides a distant thrum of crowds that always seemed present in those tunnel like roads; walls barren enough to allow even the softest noise to be heard for many lengths. Suddenly he felt her hand shift, its motion pulling further round his shoulder until its smooth tips lightly touched his cheek. Before he had even questioned the odd movement his friend’s fingers stiffened, be it scarcely for a moment Edwyn turned quickly to see what was wrong.
A tear like glass dripped from Nilika’s eyes its crystalline shape trickling slowly down her eyelash where it was wiped away almost immediately by her arm. An expression of sorrow had been sketched by her features though it turned just as quickly back to a blossoming smile. The sudden change left the kelvic looking in complete confusion as she jumped energetically in front of him, air whooshing as she bounded past hitting the snow with a solid thump. Edwyn pushed his heals deep into drift as to keep from walking face first into Nilika; hood falling back from his face a few strands of hair poked almost straight up as they reached for the no longer present cloth their oddly colored clumps soon falling back into a messy ordeal atop his head. His bondmate smiled mischievously as she spoke; words clear yet almost shaking in anticipation, Edwyn’s ears perked legs tensing ever so slightly though her last word caused his forehead to furrow. Prank. A What?... he wondered uncertainly shoulders falling and feat shifting.
“uhm.. what is a p-r-an-k?” he asked into awkward silence
