Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

[Kulkukan Tavern and Inn] This is Riverfall, isn't?...

30th of Winter 513AV

He could feel the caress of winter, its chilled kiss upon each curve of muscle his body harbored it seemed to lick at his lean body as his eyes flattered open, not awake but deep from thought, he was lost once again in the very ocean of his mind and whenever he found himself there with nothing but his subconscious raft and time, unending yet easily bent if one had the power(?)

He looked at the ceiling, it'd saved itself from being withered, rotting and felled with mold of all types that it'd created a new species of creature in their already diverse continent, its form was still clean and that reassured him that he was not in some backwater inn like the ones in places like Sunberth. He tucked his hands behind his head, his fingers locked into his locks so easily and knowingly that it became something of a routine, he pillowed himself with his palms whilst crossing his legs, lain flat onto the inn's bed he listened to the morning city of Riverfall inside the embrace of the Kulkukan.

A sigh seemed to leave his lips momentarily as he thought on what he might have to do next, it was than that his stomach churned on itself and it growled albeit too angrily for Kahn's tastes.

Tastes... Food it is than, he told himself as he shifted his position and felt as his bare feet touched the cold floor, the pacifist seemed not to mind as he stood up, the lonesome bed seemed to groan as if it were his lover as when his weight came and he stood up, it was than that the illumination of the early sun tore through the window and onto his ebony flesh, it made a silhouette of his body and his locks seemed to fray in the light, his right hand rose and slipped into the kempt locks and in a practiced motion they seemed to be tied whilst loose strands fell around his features with an exotic revelation.

He sighed underneath his breath, the illumination beamed onto the warm breath and itself lithe elusive form danced into the light whilst it danced into dissipation, he'd only worn his pants to bed that night hence he wasn't worried about exhibiting too much of himself.

Kahn turned towards the bed and he looked at the wrinkled sheets, the immortal rings around his eyes seemingly unscathed as he began to remake bed, common courtesy for him. It took a few chimes yet when he was done, one wouldn't even know that he was sleeping there the previous eve'.

His belongings were soon laid onto the sheet he'd used, his sword, his light armoured combat jacket, shirt and even towahawk all placed before him, he accounted for each of his possessions made sure that they hadn't even tempered with.

'Good' he thought with a lightened hearted whilst taking each machine of warfare and wrapping it within the body of his cloak, he placed them within the delicate cloth with delicacy that they wouldn't even tear through the fabric.

Shifting from his devices of death (which he detested) he turned toward the inn itself and walked out his borrowed room, still somewhat in his morning attire, consisting only of his pants, the philosopher found the nearest seat and took it as his own, his thoughts on the world soon returned merely for a seconded before he heard a somewhat familiar call him, it was the owner of the Kulkukan, the Akalak Nystir.

"Sleep well there traveler?" the 'young' businessman asked the pacifist with a smile, Kahn shifted his eased gaze toward him and leaned back in his chair, winters touch lingering still on the chairs cold frame as dug into his flesh and trailed up his spine.

"Still better than waking up in some cave or trench somewhere" he said with a shrug whilst hearing the akalak chuckle at his comment, Kahn didn't find it funny knowing that it'd happened before, yet he sat there and ingested the cold air whilst the Akalak looked him.

"Looking for something to eat?" he asked the contemplating Kahn behind the counter, he could already hear Chell setting up breakfast for the inn's patrons so why asked the enigma human.

"Surprise me" Kahn said as he heard his churning stomach turn and growl once again, this caused his eyes to fall down at his muscular abdomen, as if it knew of its masters glare the stomach growled again teasingly. The pacifist inclined his gaze toward the Akalak he merely smiled and called towards the auburn haired female, whatever he said to her fell onto deaf ears as Kahn leaned in onto his table and began to think.

Philosophically he believed that he could train his mind to allow his body to deprive itself of food, it was an unheard of form of discipline yet to him, mind ruled over matter and application of such methods was how he lived his life...

His attention was so lost on itself that he couldn't even notice any of the patrons or bodies that moved into the inn, their gawking didn't bother him, yet he wondered, hadn't they seen a half naked person before, this was Riverfall wasn't it?...

[Kulkukan Tavern and Inn] This is Riverfall, isn't?...

Postby Lysaea Frostfawn on February 17th, 2014, 3:00 pm

Shoes clattered outside on the frozen dock as clouds of breath were visible in the cold air. Workers had begun to start their job for today but Lysa had decided that she would hunt later in the day when the game were more likely to be awake. Running a hand through her raven hair, she breathed in the chilly air with relish many people who weren't Vantha couldn't find whilst in the cold. By now she had gotten used to the city of Riverfall, once so foreign to her before. It's tiers were now more familiar to her and she was able to navigate through the winter-chilled city without too much of a headache.

Sighting the 'Kulk' as the locals referred to it, she decided to go in from the mere fact that she didn't possess any clue as to what she would do while she waited. She had never been in the red-themed inn and tavern before nor had she ever felt the need to step inside it's doors. She guessed however, that if she was planning on staying in Riverfall for more than a month, she should go to the places where people seemed to be drawn in like moths to a light.

Walking down the biting cold which was nothing more than a simple chill, she felt as if she could have been walking in Avanthal instead of her current home. The welcoming ice city would always have a place in her heart although she knew she held no desire to return to it ever again. Pushing open the door, the sounds of a normal inn lobby immediately met her ears.

Eyes shifting to a shade of deep blue, they wandered around the crimson rooms taking in as much detail as she possibly could. Cautiously stepping in the doorway, she moved with a certain grace towards the tavern section of the inn guided by one of the employees. Acknowledging the employee's help by a simple nod of the head, Lysa's fingers touched the walls of the building as she admire the design.

She had no excellent eye for architecture or design but the consistent theme was definitely more than welcome for her now light purple eyes. Even from her not that long visit to the Tavern and Inn, she could tell why the Kuvan citizens enjoyed this place. Although she had initially decided to return to the Sanctuary to eat breakfast, the lull of the tavern was causing her to want to instead eat here. It wasn't free of course but then, nothing much in the world was.

Moving up to the counter to order something to eat, she quickly asked for her meal although she was in no need to hurry before searching the room for a place to sit. The thing that most caught her eye was a man sitting like he just woke up (he probably did). Sure she saw some half-dressed people before (especially when she was passing by the idiots who had planned on jumping in the river in just their swimming outfits) in Riverfall but as it indeed was Riverfall, most of the half-dressed men were Alkalaks so naturally, she gawked fairly rudely at the deep in thought man before reminding herself that she probably shouldn't (Plus she wouldn't admit, she noticed most of the half-dressed people she saw were all muscly while this man was more graceful, she guessed unable to think of a better word, in physique)

Now generally, Lysaea wasn't the most talkative person one would ever meet but her curiosity was raised by this seemingly half-asleep person. Walking over to him, she spoke loud enough to be heard and in a somewhat cold tone although not almost cold enough to match the winter outside. "You do realise that being in a public place without being properly dressed isn't the most common thing people see?"

[Kulkukan Tavern and Inn] This is Riverfall, isn't?...

Postby Kahn Jakuta on February 18th, 2014, 1:37 pm

It didn't take long it seemed, in front of him was steaming boil of some sort if soup/mash form of breakfast. The steam that danced of the crown of his breakfast seemingly mocked him as he placed a spoon into its center and stirred, a tail followed behind the frame of the spoon as his half eased gaze trailed around the rim of the bowl whilst he contemplated on many things, his thoughts drifted from the easiest of things to hardest of ideals and it didn't bother him one bit.

'Amongst the darkest corners of the universe is a mathematics, one that even the gods themselves cannot comprehend, it is this mathematics that makes existence exist...' he thought deeply whilst staring into the soup as if it was primordial essence of the universe.

'Yet what is existence, and where does existence come from?, Could existence be nonexistent to such an extent that we're all living in the very essence of nothingness?" he hummed deeply whilst stopping momentarily, "An than does that mean that existence is nothingness, that'd came something?..." he asked himself whilst pausing once and whispering to himself...

It didn't take long for him to raise the spoon in his hand and calm his aggravated hunger, the culmination of whatever the hell the steaming stew was trailed down his throat into the void of his stomach set him at ease.

The Kulkukan was soon filling up with patrons for the day and each and everyone of them seemed to let their gazes drift towards Kahn sitting by his lonesome self at the corner, at each chime that seemed to pass more and more eyes seemed to fall onto his dignified body whilst he slowly ate his food, savoring the tundra flavors that awakened his senses.

Kahn inclined his solemn gaze to the sound of feminine voice that seemed authoritative in some manner or another, the pacifist turned towards the woman, his gaze still unhindered by her statement.

"Quite a long greeting..." he said loud enough to be heard only by her, one of his loose strands danced by his face slightly when he turned back to his breakfast, the air between him an the mysterious woman didn't fall well for him hence he decided to get out on it.

"It's rude to stare you know, so take a seat" he said as he kicked out a seat slightly underneath the table, it'd be better for her to gawk whilst seated rather than stand there like the entire Kulkukan.

As he inclined his head back towards the woman it seemed that he was waiting to see her reaction, it was really rare to find someone who wasn't Akalak in a city full of them and it made wonder what her next possible reaction would be...

[Kulkukan Tavern and Inn] This is Riverfall, isn't?...

Postby Lysaea Frostfawn on February 19th, 2014, 11:38 am

Lysa kept her nerve up and stared back, her eyes shifting to a shade of luminous violet, when the man turned his grave-looking eyes at her. Sometimes she really wished that her eyes didn't change colour. As much as she loved it, it was also a pain sometimes when trying to hide her emotions.

Each shade that her eyes went to usually meant a different feeling and if someone knew her well enough, they'd be able to tell her emotions as easily as knowing the differences between winter and summer just by looking at the shade of her eyes. Distracted from her train of annoyance thinking by the man saying how long her greeting was, her gaze turned intense deep blue as well as the aforementioned shade of violet.

She could not help but think that he was stranger than most of the people she knew and therefore managed to keep on standing in her same position while trying to work her mind around his response. Unconsciously fingering her black hair as she usually did when deep in thought, she was again pushed out of her own world by the man then telling her to sit down and that it was rude to stare.

An extremely slight red flushed over her cheeks momentarily before she held her head high, eyes flashing a shade of pale gold before returning to their normal deep violet shade. "You might as well invite the whole entire tavern to sit down with you then since they're all staring too," she said, staring directly at him, her voice slightly less frozen albeit only a touch.

However, she did still move stiffly around the table and grab a chair before swiftly pulling it out and seating herself neatly on it. Her eyes shifted restlessly around unsure what to settle on; watching the man eat or looking at the rest of the tavern. She couldn't decide mainly because while the eating man was intriguing to her, the rest of the tavern was as well. It was interesting to her and an also opportunity to just casually observe without observing in detail which she wasn't particularly good at.

Beginning to tap her foot impatiently while her eyes moved here and there, her mind flitting around the question she was so desiring to ask but at the same time weighing it's amount of rudeness. She was so caught up in thought that she was suddenly stunned by the sudden appearance of food under her nose and sharply dropped her head, hardly admiring it's disgusting mushiness. Her stomach churned slightly from the appearance; she was definitely used to the Sanctuary food.

Raising her hand from her lap, she touched the spoon as if it was a hot iron cautiously and shallowly dipped it in the middle of the ugly looking thing before looking at it as if it was a daunting challenge for her. Swallowing in her slight concerns, she lifted the spoon to her mouth and took a small sip of it. Surprisingly, it seemed decent so she did this again.

Aware of the fact that she might have looked strange to the stranger across her, she barely glanced up at him stating "I'm a picky eater," for no reason before letting her gaze hang on the table and accidentally letting her question onto the surface. "Also, what were you mumbling about and why?" she asked tilting her head curiously at the table while she continued eating.

[Kulkukan Tavern and Inn] This is Riverfall, isn't?...

Postby Kahn Jakuta on February 20th, 2014, 4:23 pm

"I would if I could alas you're the only who's actually said a word to me" Kahn said with a dipped head, his eyes seemingly unmoving from his breakfast. As he, he stirred the still steaming food and shifted his lower body, he tucked his legs underneath himself and leaned into the table with a creak of the chair as it bent under his lean weight.

When the extra plate slid across the table and took the attention of the girl away from the pacifist, it didn't take long for her to speak about and this time about her eating habits, Kahn's unshaken form ground into his seat as he raised his spoon and took another bite from it.

"I'm not surprised" the philosopher said, his dark voice glazed with the softest of vocals whilst harboring a wise tone lain into the words. A short silence fell between the two people at the table, Kahn savored every ounce of it before he sat back and let the from of the spoon circle the rim of the bowl,

"What is flesh, bone?, Is it the very conception of an a greater intelligence or is that something else, what defines it, binds it together so intimately as a whole?" he asked/answered her in an inquisitive manner, his eyes finally fall onto her fully and observing the very manner of the woman.

"I asked nothing more than a question that all of existence lacks to question, its very conception... Could existence be nonexistent and all that we see, feel, say and think is nothing more than nonexistent?" he asked as his hand rose slightly whilst he looked into her eyes.

"Yet where'd this nothingness come from, for something can create nothing when destroyed and nothingness cannot create something unless molded. An if so, what'd molded that great scape of nothing into something, into existence and where did it come from?" he asked, his questions delving deeper and deeper into themselves that at some point he seemed to bee lost but he couldn't, his mind kept track of each and everyone of his thoughts, each inquisitive notion that left him, still unanswered...

[Kulkukan Tavern and Inn] This is Riverfall, isn't?...

Postby Lysaea Frostfawn on February 22nd, 2014, 2:24 pm

Lysa in the middle of eating a spoon, was thoroughly confused by this person. I'm not surprised? By what? That she was a picky eater or that she was wondering why he was mumbling. However glad she might be that he didn't decide to run her through with anything, she was still confused. Looking at the man, spoon still half elevated in her mouth, she tried to examine him. To be honest, he looked somewhat lazy to her which was a really weird thing for her to be thinking but that was her honest opinion.

Awoken from her intense staring by the man starting to say random things. She tried to comprehend what he was saying. If he was answering her question, that certainly wasn't understandable by a person like her. Unnerved with the calmness he seemed to have when he stared at her in the eyes, she wasn't sure whether she should stare back or look away. She decided with the former. Staring back, she felt herself get more lost in his philosophical deep thinking. "You think deep," she said frankly before actually trying to wrap her mind around the ocean of questions the person before her just said.

Feeling inclined to answer, she opened her mouth to say a somewhat suitable respond. All the while her spoon was still floating gently in the air making it's way slowly back to the basin called a bowl.
"Uh-um," she began stuttering trying to let the words come smoothly "I just think of flesh and bone as exactly what it is. Flesh and bone. Without it, you wouldn't be what you are. Just a lump of organs I guess," she said tentatively not even sure if she should continue to babble on. Oh well, might as well

"And if existence was nonexistence then I guess we are nonexistent and well we could all be just someone's really real dream..." she said, trailing off at the end, wincing at her obvious incapability to talk philosophy before she perked up again when a sudden flash of inspiration appeared in her head. "Nothingness can create something! Because with nothingness, it could mean anything, like a void. An voids generally will give birth to something new...I think. I really don't know what I'm talking about here do I?" she said slightly deflated as she reached the end of her sentence. Grasping her spoon again, she lifted it up and mindlessly stuffed in her mouth.

Immediately, a slight burning sensation began building up. Boggling her eyes she immediately tried to spit the food out but alas, it was to no avail. She had already began to swallow some food before hand and as such, ended up choking and coughing. It certainly wasn't a pleasant feeling, spluttering and having ones mouth on fire. She also realised that this was not probably not a pleasant sight.

[Kulkukan Tavern and Inn] This is Riverfall, isn't?...

Postby Kahn Jakuta on March 13th, 2014, 7:01 pm

Kahn's never shifting glare seemed to actually shift for a moment as the young woman before him spoke, she seemed confused with the placement of her words, it was as if the ideals he'd planted in her head were truly coming out one ear and out the other with a understandable ease.

As he gazed down into his bowl, he was once again met by the multitude of tastes from the Kulkukan brand mush that was within the container. He chewed and listened to her drone onwards as she tried to come to grasp with what he'd asked her, she ceased in her speak and Kahn looked up from beneath his locks. As they lazily swung before him, he once again conversed.

"It's not to say that nonexistence is existent, it is to ask whether we're living in this nonexistent to such an extent that the emptiness that is is the emptiness that we see." the man said. His muscles contracting slightly as he leaned back in his seat and looked at her once again, "You grasped the concept but merely lacked power to truly understand it, you weren't right nor were you wrong"

Kahn ceased for a moment an thought deeply about what he was saying, "Yet there never truly is right or wrong answer in these sort of things" he whispered to himself before he head a hoarse growl, Kahn looked up and gazed at the woman, his hand eased itself around the bowl and pulled it closer to himself, he watched as the woman coughed out the mush and thankfully it didn't venerate into the direction of his food.

He looked at her, his relaxed eyes still trailing between the lines of disinterest and great boredom, "My name's Kahn, and yours is?" he asked after he saw that she was okay.

"You might want some water to go with that cough too by the way..."
