Race: Vantha Gender: Female Age: 13 Birthday: 1st of Winter, 500 AV Birthplace: Avanthal Appearance & Concept: Still growing, Faelith is only about 5'4", with baby fat still lingering in her cheeks, arms, and belly. Faelith's charcoal-colored hair tumbles neatly to her waist when left down, although it is often up and braided, especially when she is set to work on painting. She often laments the fact that her hair isn't the deep black that most Vantha have, and only twice has she ever caught any shimmer of color in it, and in hindsight she suspects that even then it was only reflecting the light around her. Her skin is dark and smooth, with no freckles or moles to speak of. She finds most things exciting, and as such is often rushing around with a wide smile on her face. Faelith has never learned to hide her emotions, and though she can be quick to anger, a sincere apology or reprimand can turn her fury into embarrassment or happiness just as quickly. As the youngest of five children, Faelith was always surrounded by loved ones, and never felt any desire to leave her Hold. Even in her daydreams of years to come, she always assumed that her parents would indulge her and accept a bride-price from a Skyglow boy, no matter how unlikely this would be in reality. Her worldview changed drastically when her older sister Aeril was wed into the Frostfawn hold in the spring of 513; Faelith was absolutely captivated by the groom's larger-than-life tales of the hunt. In the seasons following, although she certainly hadn't forsaken the Skyglows' artistic traditions, her sketches and paintings nearly always featured massive beasts felled by arrows, Vantha riding on their mounts with their bows drawn, or simply the forest, wild and ominous and altogether enticing. The presence of Morwens mark acts as antifreeze that warms the individuals blood and keeps them comfortable even in subzero temperatures. Exposed tissue can still freeze when faced with severe temperatures, but individuals are not at all prone to hypothermia if they are well protected against the weather. They may in fact even feel ‘comfortable’ in colder climates and indeed uncomfortable in warmer climates. At this stage, Ice Reavers can control the temperature of ice, melting it or freezing it in small portions. It is not unheard of for an Ice Reaver to scoop up a pot of snow, tap their gnosis, and have a pot of ice water instead ready for cooking. Ice Reavers at this level have the ability to tell how thick a piece of ice is - such as the surface of a lake - and can determine whether it is safe or not to hold weight. At this level, Ice Reavers can tap their gnoses and shape ice that is already formed as sculptors might - loosening and causing it to shed away until the pattern they want is formed. Ice Reavers at this level cannot create ice nor manipulate large portions of ice. They cannot, for example, thaw portions of a surface of a lake, but they can take the existing ice and reshape it or melt it. They can only change the viscosity of about a standard 10 gallons of water at a time. If conditions are cold and they try to repeat this process over and over again to achieve what a higher level Ice Reaver could, they would find their manipulations refreezing behind them as they worked. He is short but wiry, with most of his muscle mass in his arms due to time spent teaching his children to carve and sculpt. Although he loves all of his children very much and tends to encourage them to find their own paths, he can easily see his youngest daughter's new fascination with the hunt leading her into the Ice Watch, and he worries for her future safety. When she entered the Skyglow hold she did try to learn their arts, but found herself woefully inept at most of them, although she does find carving to be soothing and does so in her spare time. Mellia, despite her husband's stance on the matter, has a very romanticized and sheltered view of adventure, and therefore tries to subtly encourage Faelith to follow up on her new interests. She's tall for a Vantha and has her father's wiry build, often braiding her long black hair and pinning it back so that it doesn't get in the way of her pottery. Aeril was a doting older sister when she still lived with her parents and younger sister, and now that she's moved into her new Hold she does her best to maintain that relationship with Faelith as well as she can.
