Gug Andjak hallways, 20th of Bell, 51st of Fall 513 A.V

A curious sight of a ghostly little girl wandering around the hallways of the Gug Andjak could be seen that night. Kouri was rather lost, she was alone without her maid guiding her. Kriem had just changed into a new body and would be out of commission at least until tomorrow, the ritual was... disgusting to say the least. Yet Kouri couldn't keep her eyes off it and managed to stomach it until the end. Lady Amaryllis told her that after a Nuit changed bodies, they needed to rest to get used to their new vessel. Kouri decided to just meet the Wizard named "Vick" on her own, given directions to his lab, yet here she was, somewhat confused at the rows of doors along the stone walls.

She scratched her ethereal head and decided to phase her head on a random wooden door, she found an old man sitting on a chair, doing something... strange with glass apparatus. Kouri wanted to ask him if he was Vick, but it could be seen as impolite. She decided to swallow her nervousness and asked instead "H-hello, are you Master Vick?" Kouri's tone was polite and rather sad, losing her child-like cheerfulness due to what happened with Wanda. The wizard inside didn't even recognize her, it took him about a chime of awkward silence for his head to slowly turn around and faced the ghost girl's head "No." He answered simply.

"......then... where can I find Master Vick?" Kouri decided to plow through. If there's one thing she realized about Nuits in Sahova, they were mostly really apathetic, well not all, but at least the ones she observed. The only one who actually talked to her so far was Mistress Wanda.

It took the Nuit about fifteen seconds before he opened his wrinkled lips and answered "Master Vick, next to this lab." He said simply and went back to whatever he was doing.

"....okay, thank you, Sir." Seeing that the old man wasn't even noticing her existence anymore, Kouri phased out her head. Well, that was easy. She decided to believe the man and went to the next wooden door. Kouri focused the soulmist on her right hand and knocked it. "Is Master Vick here?" In her mind, Vick must be an old-looking man with greying hair, kinda like the male version of Mistress Wanda. She just hoped he didn't see her as a mere ethereal child and a disturbance. Meeting him was her main goal in coming to Sahova in the first place, well aside from showing Rena around... now that Rena's in the hands of Wanda, she couldn't do much.

The child looked upon her, a ghost wearing what looked like a dress looked upon him asking for him it would seem. It was odd for a ghost to enter the halls of the isle but even more rare for a ghost to be asking for him.

“You are speaking to him. I am Vick...Are you here to play a game with me or something else?”

Vick asked as he looked at her. Well her being the form of the ghost as he had to wonder what she wanted with him. Wanda could have sent her but he never spoke with her so that was doubtful. So for now he would question the ghost as the pools of magic that came from the depths of his soul came to life as his sight of the world changed looking upon the djed of what was around him and more so of the ghost.

Ghosts were different. He did not know how different as he never really dealt with them but he knew that for a soul to stay within the world after death it meant they had a lot more to deal with. He had to wonder if he would become a ghost if he died...He was human once until he became a nuit so would turning into a ghost be that different? He had to wonder as he saw her djed. Even while still being dead she would be a strong ally or foe depending how this would turn out.

To be perfectly honest, Kouri did not expect a boy, close to her age, perhaps even younger, would the one opening the door. The ghost girl's crimson eyes widened for about ten ticks, her lips slightly ajar, at a loss on what to say. Everything about this island was maddening, from the Spiritist who controlled ghostly guardians, the walking corpses, and now, the young boy who introduced himself as the Master Vick. "Eh, uhm... ah, y-you are?" Still refusing to believe her ethereal eyes, Kouri slightly hunched down to examine the shorter boy, the dull dead eyes of his gave away his nature, and Kriemhild did tell her that a Nuit's appearance was irrelevant to their actual personality and age. This must be the famous Vick, no doubts about it.

The ethereal dead audibly gulped, "W-well, h-hello, Master Vick, I... I'm uh, I'm Kouri! It's an honor to meet you!" Kouri bowed to the boy, feeling odd due to his appearance, he looked young enough to be her younger brother. Kouri slowly raised her head as she contemplated Vick's question, they only had met for barely a chime and he was asking her to play a game? Being a young girl, Kouri loved games, especially dolls and tea time. Apparently, Vick liked to play as well, befitting his young appearance. The phantom child fidgeted with one of her hair ribbons in nervousness, "W-well, my maid, Kriemhild, told me about you, Master Vick, we came her to see you, b-but uhm... d-due to circumstances, only I could..." She couldn't explain about Rena and Kriem's fate, not yet.

She was tired of all this, at least Rena and Kriem was safe, she could ask for his favor later, it would be good to play with someone once a while, especially since he was the person she sought, "Okay, let's play, Master Vick," Kouri clasped her hands behind her back as she gave him a small smile, "What games do you want to play?"

“I have a slave I have no need of anymore. We can play a game with them that will hurt them as I am tired of them. I can use them more dead than alive.”

Vick said as he moved about his office towards the door. His right hand moving outward offering it for the ghost to grab. A hum leaving his lips as he would either wait for her to grab on or he would just skip slowly about the halls either way.

Vick could deal with her request later if she had one but for now he wanted to play. His idea of a game however meant that someone would die and they would die slowly. He had to wonder if the ghost would enjoy the game? Yet he did not care if she did or not in the end as he made his way towards another pulser.

It did not take long to find the slave in question. It was a female, dark tan skin with black hair that was cut short. Green eyes along her body that was thin and fail from lack of food. She bowed her head towards Vick and did not say anything towards him as he looked upon her.

“Slave 1xy. Time to play a fun game in the dungeons.”

An order. A simple order but an order nonetheless as she nodded her head and left on her own. The grey long tunic just clinging to her body as Vick looked upon the ghost.

“So let’s play that game. I am sure it will be fun with a ghost. I wonder what you can do…” Vick said as he started skipping (with or without her in hand) towards the dungeons. They would have to pass by the courtyard but Vick paid no mind to anything besides his little friend if she spoke.

Once they were past the courtyard they would be in another dark building as he made his way down the stairs into the lower levels of the building before going into a door. Already the slave in question was standing waiting for them.

“Kouri meet slave. She is replaceable and knows this. So far she has not shown much promise other than a few skills in cleaning but I do not need a cleaner. She was sold by the lot and I was the unlucky one to buy her sight unseen. So are you ready to play a game?”

Vick asked looking towards her. It was the time to see if his new friend would play well with him or have different ideas of games. He had to wonder as he waited as his ears heard a soft whimper in the room but paid it no mind.

There was a table that held heavy chains along them to bind someone down and different tools along the room for torture. The scent of death and blood filled the room but Vick paid it no mind as he kept his focus upon the ghost and did not move his lungs to breath.

"W-what do you mean?" The ghost girl asked in confusion, she didn't like where this was going, Vick's words looked wrong coming from such a young-looking boy, he spoke about a slave and how he was going to play 'games' with them, by hurting them, killing them. Kouri felt awful, she couldn't say that Vick was wrong, she was also guilty of such acts, torturing and killing animals just for the fun of it, she also had human blood on their hands, but they were all bandits, pirates, and slavers. She never killed an innocent person up until this point... at least never succeeded. In her blind rage, she once tried to attack Azcadelia, it wasn't a fully conscious act though, but still, she was guilty nonetheless.

Vick's suggestion was on a whole different level, torturing a tortured soul, a slave. The ghost girl absolutely abhorred slavery, she once slaughtered a caravan of slavers together with a mercenary group led by Razkar, a Myrian warrior, and the boy before her, was a slaver. "A slave..." She hesitated to enter the door, the Nuit boy was friendly to her, but her crimson eyes clearly showed uncertainty, a part of her mind screamed at her to just kill this undead and free the slaves, but that would a very foolish thing to do. Wanda specifically prohibited her from causing anymore trouble, murdering a Master Wizard was definitely causing trouble, Big trouble. She was here, she couldn't back down now, if she did, all of her efforts would be for naught, for Rena, for Kriemhild, she must set aside her morals... at least for the moment.

Her floating form moved as she entered Vick's laboratory, taking note of the various interesting stuffs she couldn't name there, the pile of bones didn't unnerve her, being a ghost, she was familiar with corpses. "No..." The pitiful sight of the slave made Kouri breathed in despair, her right hand clenched into a fist as she barely held back her murderous urges, the urge to just decapitate Vick and free the poor female. The white mists swirling around her form slightly picked up in speed due to her emotions, the slave looked so complacent, so detached, it was like her body was alive but her mind was dead. She didn't even have a name, merely some kind of identification code, like a cattle. The Nuit's playful words greatly contrasted with his monotone and true nature of the 'game', Kouri felt her ethereal heart being figuratively impaled by a large icicle. She saw a glimpse of herself on the Nuit then... Come on, let's just play for a bit? Look, that woman is willing right?

"N-no!" She held her own head, the damnable part of her childishly sadistic mind quipped, not quite repressed even after Wanda's lesson. She couldn't completely deny that she enjoyed this, playing together with a boy, listening to the beautiful screams of pain, how she wanted to watch the slave suffered through her last moments. This was it, she must make a decision, decline now, she would escape from temptation, but possibly losing Vick's favor; if she accepted, Kouri would fall back into being a little monster, what would Wanda think of her? Aw, come on, it's just a slave! Look, Master Vick is the one inviting! I won't get in trouble, in fact, he may even likes me! "..." That was a rather sound excuse, furthermore, she could save the woman from suffering by ending her life and losing Vick's favor was highly undesirable, she was here in the first place because of him.

"Okay..." Kouri winced, shutting down any remaining guilty conscience, she materialized her right hand then gently took Vick's left, floating beside him like children going to a park. Approaching the Courtyard, Kouri remembered to ask for some soulmist from Madame Wanda first so she could pass safely, after she acquired some, Kouri quickly returned back to Vick. Ser Cromley, I'm sorry! The ghostly knight would indeed be disappointed, but Mia, the powerful phantom girl who was even more detached than Kouri, would be pleased indeed. As they walked through the Courtyard, Kouri's crimson eyes darted from left to right, to check if any of Wanda's guardians was following them. Thankfully, they didn't or she just didn't notice them.

They arrived in a dark building... a building she recognized, she was here with Mia just bells ago! It was the place where tortured souls lay trapped in cages, screams of agony reverberating on the walls, the place where Mia loved to play, the place that horrified and tempted Kouri at the same time. Now, she was going back to the very same place she promised to never go into again, how naughty of her. Kouri kept holding onto Vick's hand, muttering some unintelligible words to herself, but if one listened closely, they were repeated murmurs of 'I'm sorry' in Vani.

"!?" She broke free of her trance when Vick called her name, introducing her to the slave, Kouri kept silent as the boy so casually dismissed a human being as an object. Let's play already! Vick wants to play with us! Come on! "I'm..." she trembled, looking down on the ground, then after a full chime, Kouri slowly raised her head, a small grin plastered itself on her face, "I'm ready, let's play. Ehehe~" Her voice was noticeably lower in-pitch, crimson eyes raking the slave's form up and down. The ghost girl dismissed the soft whimper as the usual wails of pain of the poor souls trapped here.

Vick was looking at her, so he wanted her to make the first move, very well, Kouri smiled as she put her right hand near her chin, giggling sinisterly, "Let's get her nice and fit in that table over there!" With that, Kouri's grin grew wider as four thick tendrils launched from her back, each tightly wrapping around the slave's wrists and ankles, then while giggling, Kouri roughly pulled the slave to the torture bed. "Ahahaha!" By this point, she didn't care, she just wanted to have fun, with violent tugs of her tendrils, Kouri placed the slave onto the bed, then her tendrils each moved to the bindings, the ghostly limbs moving the cuffs so they each bind the slave's wrists and ankles, the metallic restraints snapping close with a cold snap.

"Ehehehe~" Kouri looked back to Vick, her crimson eyes wide in glee, then she raised her right index finger, "Wanna see what I can do with this?" Without waiting for his answer, the ghost girl materialized her finger then lightly trailed it over the slave's torso, sick sizzling sound of flesh freezing from her touch echoed in the room, the slave screamed in pain as she felt extremely painful cold wracking throughout her body, if Kouri kept this up, she would die within ten ticks. If Vick didn't stop Kouri, the ghost girl would continue until the slave's life left her body.

One could say Vick could influence a lot of people if he wanted but this really was not a large push. He did not know her history or passion for things for this was just a normal game to him. He saw how she acted and it would seem she was having a rather large inner battle as they made it here but he did not push further until he spoke to her in the room.

Even then it did not take long it seemed as Vick just waited for her to make up her mind. He never forced her openly to say no as he always could give her the door to leave and never speak of it but she came to him and he wanted to play a game. A game that would show so many colors of each other as he watched her use her powers. His own Auristics flaring to life as he watched her do what she did.

If she wanted she could kill so many on the island he felt but fear was just not in his heart as he watched her hurt the slave in question. He knew she enjoyed it on some level but he also saw just the impact she was having for the slaves djed signs were giving Vick a bad feeling as he knew he would have to handle his new friend and show her how to really enjoy this.

“Tsk tsk Kouri if you keep that up the game will end soon. I am sure you don’t want that just yet right? What game would that be.” Vick said as he moved about speaking to her in a high sing song voice matching hers as he placed his own hand in front of her finger to get her to understand he did not want her to keep going yet he knew this would hurt just did not know on what level as he felt her finger and hand touching along his as she was using it.

Cold. Icy. Pain. Words that scream in his head as his hand felt her impact as a gasp of breath and small scream of pain leaving his own lips as he pushed his hand along the slaves body holding and pushing onto it watching and watching for what Kouri would do if she did not hear him and saw what she was doing to him.

It was a risk but he had no collar around her to control her yet if she killed the slave he would just fetch a new one he guessed but he wanted to play with this toy. Not another toy but as he felt Kouri’s touch his own auristics faded into the background as it was replaced by another magic. A small tiny hole was ripped into the space behind Vick near the wall that just looked like a tiny hole of darkness which only lasted a few ticks as Vick held his ground as he looked at the ghost.

With luck she would stop and focus. He wanted her to focus and play the game. This game would not be quick. He would show her how to let go and enjoy it more. Sins were not wrong. He wanted her to understand that.

“Kouri focus. Focus upon my voice and lets enjoy this game. Don’t you want to play a game that lasts? If we play a short game it means we have to face life once more and deal with the world but for now the world does not exist outside of this game. No fears, no deadlines, no tasks that can’t wait. So relax and let yourself focus.”

He said as he took his wounded her and pushed it along Kouri’s face, sliding along her cheek as he smiled upon her. Walls were breaking inside Vick. He had held so much anger inside as he lived upon the island and it had twisted him. Now he had a playmate that might share the same fun he did and he had hoped she would listen.

“So Kouri do you want to rush this game or do you want to enjoy it?”

A simple question but Vick held his hand along her face as he waited for her answer. He did not yell at her or was upset on what she was doing but he encouraged it. Even if his hand was hurting he did not flinch from her and still accepted her for who she was. He would not tell her she was a monster for she was not. Yet would she see him as a monster?

"Ahaha! Aha-... eh?" Kouri stopped her eerie giggles when a small hand placed itself between her finger and the slave's body, the small child-like hand could only mean one thing, it was Vick's. She also heard his cheerful voice, playfully warning her to not go overboard, her killing the slave would not be as fun as dragging it out. Kouri wanted to slap herself, she was so caught up in her joy, she forgot to restrain herself, giggling sheepishly, the ghost girl slightly bowed her head at the shorter boy, "Sorry, Master Vick..." but she didn't sound sorry at all, like a child who was merely faking an apology.

The sizzling sound of flesh still continued though. Vick looked to be in pain, Kouri turned her head back to her finger, finding it freezing Vick's hand instead of the slave, "Aaaaah!" She quickly pulled her hand back, taking a few steps back as her eyes widened in horror. She just hurt a Master Wizard, whether Nuits was resistant to the ghost's deadly touch or not, it didn't matter, a bluish mark was left on Vick's hand. The ghost girl panicked, she unmaterialized herself to prevent more blunders, bowing her head deep to Vick, "I'm sorry!" The Nuit boy didn't scold her, this relieved the phantom girl, she assumed he understood, "N-next time, please tell me if you want to touch me..." Her voice was hesitating, not wanting to sound disrespectful but by Morwen, she really hoped Vick would warn her first.

So engrossed by her concern over Vick's safety, she noticed the tiny hole of Void a tad bit too late, she only saw it in her peripheral vision just a tick before it disappeared, Kouri scoffed it off as her own mind playing tricks on her, turning her attention back to the Master Wizard, "I want it, yes, I want a long fun game..." She fidgeted with her fingers, sounding apologetic to the Nuit. She listened to each of his words closely, she had to admit, she began to like him, his views on the world were similar to hers. Kouri also wanted to play a fun game where she could unleash herself, no problems, no spiritists, no judging eyes, just her and her playmate, for eternity.

She gave Vick a small smile as he trailed his hand on her cheek, the ghost girl materialized herself to allow his hand to touch her soulmist, but she controlled her power, losing its deadly property. If she was a healthy Vantha girl, a blush would be creeping up at her cheeks and her eyes would turn pink in shy. Now that she closely looked at him, Vick was a fellow child and a boy to boot, the first seeds of childish crush were planted on her ethereal heart. "I want to enjoy it, V-vick, can I call you 'Vick'?" She wanted him to be her friend, calling him 'Master' all the time would feel awkward.

She wasn't alone after all, there was always someone who shared her feelings about the world.

He never worked with ghosts before. He never found one that was as strong as her. Yet it was not about power to him as he looked upon her, A small smile upon his lips as his eyes lit up watching her. What was this feeling deep in his chest? A simple thought as he pushed it to the side as the slave made groans and sounds as he looked down upon her.

“...No one has wanted to call me by my name in awhile...You may as long as no one is around. This is for your own safety.”

Vick said as he looked back upon her smiling. What was this feeling? He was not sure but for now he pushed it deeper down. He had a game to enjoy and wanted her to enjoy the game as well.

He just smiled as he picked up a sharp needle from a table nearby. Without a word he pushed the needle into the arm of the slave as screams filled the air. “So Fubuki just listen to my voice. In another world, in another place this slave would have just hunted us down. Is that not right? A ghost and a nuit would be an easy target for her to think we are not fit for this world. So is it wrong to enjoy this? To feel the needle push down in the body as you watch over them?”

Vick said as he pulled the needle up. The metal shining in crimson blood as he pushed it down again in another spot. Was he wrong? Maybe but in his eyes he did not see it as being wrong.

“Long ago I found anyone who looked upon me wanted me dead for just...being on this world. I did not do anything wrong but want to live. Why should I have been hunted just for wanting to live?” Vick said very softly as he moved closer to Fubuki almost cuddling with her as he spoke. He was speaking of his past for once. Even if she would not know it as he would not share that detail about it but it was not anyone that wanted to kill him. It was his family.

“I am sure you think low of me. Asking for something and I am hurting someone that you may see have rights. Yet tell me am I the monster who judges you? Am I a monster for wanting you to show your real self and be alive? Tell me who is the real monster in the world? The person who seeks to have someone understand and feel every emotion or the person who says we don’t have the right to live?”

Vick just looked upon her as he spoke. His hand offering the needle to her for her to grab and use. It was a simple offer but meant so much. Yet would she see it as the same offering as he did?

“I will never cast judgement upon you. I know you may not me but understand I will never cast judgement upon you or what you do. So let’s play this game and let yourself go.”

It was simple yet power was behind his actions and words. His eyes were just upon her’s as he kept his hand held out for her. A smile along his dead lips as he waited. Waited for some type of answer for her to either accept or reject him. If she accepted they would play longer but if she rejected then he would understand and they would get to work on why she sought him out in the first place. Either way he would not lie to her. Even if she did not know that yet.

Though Vick's smile was small, Kouri could feel it in her heart that it was sincere, not the fake smile of someone who tried to be on her good graces just because they were afraid of her, no, the Nuit boy truly smiled at her, this fluttered Kouri's heart. He allowed her to call him without the title, only in private but it meant a lot for the ghost girl. She agreed with him, Vick being a Master Wizard would obviously command respect and when a phantom girl started calling him by his name, people might start asking questions, "Alright, Vick, I will, it's nice to meet you!" Now they had broke the ice, Kouri felt it was appropriate to greet him again, as a friend this time.

Her large crimson eyes watched as the shorter boy picked up an ordinary looking needle from the table, a few questions swam in her mind about what he was going to use it for, it was answered soon enough when the Nuit pierced the bound slave's flesh with it. The screams were like music to her ears, the ghost girl loved it, but a part of her mind reprimanded herself, she should leave this horrible place, this twisted playground, and just run. If she stayed, she would fall even lower than her sadistic self that loved to kill animals and slavers, this was an innocent human Vick was torturing. Yet, her body wouldn't move, she just watched silently, listening to Vick's words.

"..." Kouri broke eye contact, partly cursing herself for agreeing with the Nuit, he was right, even though she was a human in life, it didn't matter, some people looked at her with disgust, knights placed a bounty on her head, a spiritist came after her, and to top it all off, they were all human, dirty stinking humans! She couldn't believe her own race would hunt her down, treating her like an abomination. Kouri returned her gaze to Vick, slowly floating to him, "You are right, Vick, it's..." This was it, her statement her would determine her path, a memory of the knight who impaled her with his sword flashed in her mind, Kouri's expression hardened as a grin slowly curled on her lips, "not wrong. It's not wrong to enjoy this". She wasn't a human anymore, let them feel what it was like to be oppressed.

Kouri watched in glee as Vick plunged the needle again, admiring the slave's reactions. She felt a kinship with the Nuit, from his words, he was actually a lot older than her, but they were both hunted for extermination just for being who they were. "Vick..." Her voice projected her concern for her new friend, she let him approached her as her materialized limbs reached out to gently embrace him, like a big sister to her brother. The touch was controlled so he would be fine, she cuddled with him for the moment, "No, I don't," In fact, Vick was one of the few people who accepted her, "You're not a monster, we are not monsters, the real monsters are people who speak of justice and honor yet... their actions betrayed themselves, people who judge others just because of who we are". Kouri surprised herself, she wasn't aware she could speak such wise words.

Kouri released the boy, then gently picked up the offered needle with her right index finger and thumb, "Ehehe, thank you, Vick". They were fellow children in a world filled with prejudices, it was time for her to stand up for herself, be damned those morals and rules by humans who kept her restrained. Kouri approached the trembling slave, a mischievous grin on her pale face, the needle in her hand slowly floated as a thin tendril held its base, then the needle ominously floated just above the slave's right eye. "..." Kouri went silent as she pushed down any guilty conscience, then she gently pushed down the needle to the slave's eye, screams filled the room as the eye was punctured, permanently blinding the slave in one eye. Kouri then kept it there, swishing it around to elicit more screams.

After about a chime of torture, she pulled it up then the needle floated back to Vick, covered in eye-juice, "Your turn, Vick, ehehe, I like this game".

Vick just giggled as his new found friend played with the needle as the slave lost the sight in the eye as the needle was removed.

He was such a bad influence as he took the needle back and pushing it in the other eye. The slave has kept moving the head back and forth so it was not a clean plunge but in the end he got it pushed in the closed lid as he took it out and pushing it back in until at last he pulled out one last time before placing the needle down.

Bells had passed as Vick had used many different tools to cut up the slave from knives, more needles, hammers to break bones, glass shards cutting the flesh and more.

They had taken turns wounding the body until at last Vick just smiled looking at his new found friend.

"You should kill them off now. I will leave that to you on the means but once you are done we shall go back to my lab and talk at last since you came to me for a reason."

Vick said as he took a small handsaw and used it to remove the slaves hands. The teeth pulling and pushing into the skin ripping it slowly as the slave just became silent over the time of the time spent with the two children as he removed the fresh hands and placed them in a small bag. The blood pouring out of the body but Vick paid it no mind as he just took a small jar and filling it with the blood of the slave for later.

At last he was done and he would wait for his friend to have her fill of the slave and would leave with her.

It was uneventful in Vicks eyes as they made there way back to his lab. Once they came back he took a seat in his chair as he started working on the hands as he let Kouri float about.

He had a few options for this but he have to remove the flesh off the hands first. A small knife was taken into his hands as he slowly started cutting into one of the hands and slowly skinning it.

It was slow work as he had the human hand was covered in flesh and muscle with tendons before getting down to the bone but once the first layer of skin was removed he just placed the hands into barrels of water for now he would have to soak them for a few days so the muscles and bone would be better to work with.

"So how can I help you?"

Vick asked at last as he looked at her. A smile on his face as he waited for her answer.
