Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

35th of winter of 513 AV

It was another day, but this one...this day was special. For the first time in the winter, she had a break from the harsh cold.Only recently she had learned that this place indeed had heated pools. It was a pleasant surprise, to say the least. It has been a while since she entered inside the warm pool of water, and she was currently on the Dhani form. Her whole body was submerged inside the water, with the exception of her head.Kari slowly closed her eyes, relaxing as she began to think of her life, and from where she was born.

She remembered her childhood, and how she lived with her family.Unlike most of Dhani she knew of, she had other goals.More complex ones.More ambiguous. She wanted to save her race, and make them the dominant ones through the whole mizahar. That was her goal....but she just shook her head as she thought about it.I still have much to learn before I can do such thing...but one day, I shall do it.Siku, please watch over me, as I will make you proud of me one day. She thought to herself, as if she was reassuring herself about her goals.

She would not hesitate against those who killed Dhani. She will never show fear, not now, and not forever. She will make sure her race will strive, no matter the odds, and no matter the price for it.She was more than willing to sacrifice her life for it...but a small chuckle escaped her mouth, as she rested inside the pool of hot water. She would do it...but on another day.For now she needed to rest, after all, a cold Dhani is an useless Dhani.

Kari was currently in one of the pools closest to the entrance, completely naked, with her clothes neatly folded next to the border of the pool...but she did not take her eyes away from her clothes, afraid of it being stolen.Even if the Alakaks were as prideful as they were, it wasn't enough for Kari. She would not let anyone touch it...but she sometimes looked at the other people, who entered inside the underground part of the park. She was a bit curious about them...mainly because she hoped one of them would be a nice target for her manipulation.

She would rather be dead than admit it, but she was also enjoying the view of those who entered inside the water park.It was a beautiful sight, both her surroundings, herself, and those who wandered around in such place.

You wanna know what really grinds Orabelle's gears? The winter. It was rare during this cold season to have perfect summer weather. Syna's light can't warm the bodies of a hundred anymore, or the sea. Of course she's swam in the ocean a few times during this season but not like she usually would. There were close calls where she had thought the chilly water has given her hyperthermia. It wasn't safe anymore to take a quick dive. Not anymore. Not for her.

The chatterbox has complained towards people she just met. She would mention she's a svefran and how much she loved the sea. Water, period. The first place they told her to go was the water park. Rarely opened in Winter, it had underground heating pools."Pools are just wannabes. They're not even close to natural bodies of water." She would tell them. But her views changed fast. This winter was, hitting her hard and she was beginning to go insane.

Orabelle studied the water park. For a moment she didn't see where the entrance to the underground water park was but she soon found it. She stepped in, looked around and before she knew it, Orabelle was in her undergarments. She took a dive and instantly felt relaxed. The heated water was nothing like the sea, but close enough. She began doing back strokes, one back another arm over and the paddle of the feet. Orabelle closed her eyes as she did. Humming a tune as she was swimming too.

OOCSorry about it not being to long...

oocI'll assume that she dove into the same pool as Kari.If you have any issues with such assumptions, PM me and I'll edit my post. And don't worry about the short post.I do short posts as well.By the way, my posts show my character's point of view, and some of their thoughts.

Kari stared at the woman who just dove into the same pool as her.Wasn't most of people nervous around Dhani? Why would someone be so casual around an apex predator, like her?She could kill humans with a single bite, without any worry. She was faster than a good amount of them, and she was stronger as some as well...but then a thought crossed her mind.

Maybe that person is a Dhani she thought, after all, she did possess some unusual beauty, even among humans, and the way she was carefree...it was obvious she thought of herself as an ally to the Dhani. But before she could make any assumptions, she decided to ask a question. One that would not declare her thoughts, but would also indirectly show what race the human truly is.
"Which God do you worssship?" she said, in a cheerful tone, as she slithered a bit closer to the woman. She was trying to do a good first impression on the 'Dhani', after all, she did not spend too much time with her kind.

Little did she know that the woman was not a Dhani, but instead she was a human. If Kari discovered the mistake she did, it would be likely for her to try to drown herself right there out of shame. That thought did cross her mind a few times, but yet, she put them aside, deciding to be a bit careless...after all, she was almost sure the woman would answer 'Siku', since that is obviously the best Goddess out of all.

Orabelle didn't notice the large dhani. It was odd that she didn't notice such a large and unusual creature. Orabelle is also great at picking up things, when she was young she would spot the tip of a shark fin and warn her dolphin friends who could be mistaken for a tasty treat. Maybe it was because she was focusing more on herself. More or less the thought of what she wanted to become. Not a cosmetologist. She was already one. She just needed a stable job. The akalak men were lowering her into the nakivak system. They didn't come forward and tell her she should become a nakivak. But seduce her a but and only tell her the good side like protection and mizas. Both were things she needed. Mizahar was crawling with very dangerous creatures and Orabelle wasn't good at any weapon or even a fighting technique. She had also came to Riverfall empty handed. No plans at all, which is very stupid of her.

A hissing sound echoed in the room and Orabelle instantly jumped, searching for a face to put with the voice. There in the same pool as her was a large creature. A black that seems to fade, piercing eyes. The dhani would've made Orabelle scream but she didn't. Aren't they accepted in Riverfall? So she must be friendly. She doubted they allowed dangerous beings into Riverfall."What?" She gulped. Her paddling had stopped as she stared back at the dhani. She tried to avoid her cold eyes."Oh, I worship Laviku. God of the sea but I'm working on my worship to Avalis, his lover." Her tone was a lot calmer than she felt."Laviku marked me, which is a blessing itself but I'd love to become marked by Avalis too."

"What gods do you worship." Orabelle tried to move closer to the dhani. Her feet started to paddle in the almost shallow water and she leaned forward, that way her feet were not touching the ground. She didn't move in too close, but just enough." I'm Orabelle Deepseeker. You are?" She assured her she was no threat or anything with a smile warmer then the heated pool."How long have you been in Riverfall?"

OOCSorry if there are any grammar errors.I'm not too good at english, since it is not my main language, and I'm using some unfamiliar words on this post
Words could not describe the embarrassment Kari felt.Words could not describe how strongly she regretted making assumptions.Luckily for her, because she was currently in the Dhani form, she couldn't blush.Instead, she just sunk, until her 'nose' was barely out of the water. Why did I go ahead and ask...just...why... The Dhani thought to herself. If shame could kill, she would be dead twice by now.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the questions that the Svefra did.So many questions. She didn't knew how to start, it has been awkward ever since the reply, which led her to believe the woman was not a Dhani.A few ticks passed, and only then she slowly lifted her head out of the pool, stuttering a bit as she did so.Such feeling was rather alien to her, only feeling it to such great extend once in her life.

She now opened her mouth, to reply, but then she closed it again, almost as if she was deciding what to say.

Huh...the god of the sea...She was never interested on spending a great deal of time on the sea, although it was an interesting choice...although for the Avalis, she had never heard of such god. What was her domain anyways? That was a question to wonder...
but then she opened her mouth again.
"Firssst of all, don't get too clossse...I like my persssonal ssspace." Kari said, backing away a little. "Asss for my goddess...it isss Sssiku who I worssship. My name is Karitianysssa, and thisss isss my sssecond ssseassson on riverfall.Anyway, you got my interessst about sssomething.I have never heard of Avalisss before, could you tell me a little more about her?"

The Dhani suddenly wondered if she was too rude towards the woman, although she knew she lacked socialization skills, and she was far from being as active as the Svefra was. After all, most of the conversation she ever had, in common, was barely more than what she needed to say.She was never good at showing her feelings through the common.

But there was a feeling on the back of her mind...a feeling that she might've betrayed Siku by showing interest on other gods.Siku, please forgive me for the needs of satisfying my knowledge... she said in a quick mental prayer to her goddess, although she did not truly regret about showing interest on the culture of others.

Good. Orabelle thought to herself as she fluttered back a few feet. It made her comfortable to know that the dhani didn't like being close to people like she had thought. So moving back was no problem. It didn't hurt her feelings at all that the female told her to move back. To Orabelle, both Zith and Dhani were very dangerous and scary. But if she had to choose which one she'd most likely run away from, it would be Ziths. Dhani's were like super humans. With a fantastic shapeshifting ability like Kelvics. Theirs is more elaborate and unlike kelvics, the dhani race lived longer. A lot longer, growing slower then a human. Orabelle recalls her mother telling her about her affair with a dhani once when she was tipsy. They had dangerous beauty that you couldn't help but wonder about. Somehow, they can draw you in. Orabelle only had short stories to go off of, sadly and couldn't help but want to know more about them.

"Could I call you Kari? Your name is lovely but I cannot pronounce it like you do and don't tend to because I'm afraid to mess up on." She assured her with a lovely smile."I am Orabelle. Pleasure to meet you, love."

"Avalis is the lover of Laviku." Orabelle's fratavan accent emphasized the goddess' name. Orabelle scooped a handful of water and began to let it drip through the small spaces between her finger." She's mainly worshipped by the beautiful konti race since they were given the very important gift she provides." She forgot something important and almost kicked herself for it." Avalis is the goddess of Vision and Divination. I find both important. There's a lot I need to get out of people. It hurts not to know your pass." Orabelle had a look of rage as she clapped her hands together, the water instantly came out.

"I've been praying to the goddess since I was a teenager. I'm trying to bring myself closer to the goddess, her gift is very important to me. But not as important as worshipping her and Laviku. A marking should never be more important then worshipping the god that grants it..." Orabelle looked back at Kari.

"What about Siku? Is she your mother goddess or fatherly god? Or is she just a god that had impact on your life?"

So Avalis is the goddess of visions...huh...maybe, just maybe Siku could benefit from me receiving her help. Kari thought for a few seconds, before letting out a sigh No.I should not think such things.I belong to Siku, and Siku alone. She repeated the last few words in her mind, for a whole chime, in an attempt to make her more faithful to Siku.

She tried to force herself to smile, and attempt to forget her embarrassment. After all, if she's too embarrassed to do anything, she wouldn't be any use for her goddess.

She snapped out of her daydream, looking to Orabelle as soon as she asked about Siku...to not be able to even identify Siku's gender by name alone...she was tempted to yell at her, but she couldn't,after all, she did a mistake just as bad as theirs.

The Dhani sunk slightly into the water, until the water was covering her mouth.
"Ssiku iss a perfect woman, not a man, dumbasss."She said, in a barely audible tone. The water was probably more than enough to make it extremely hard for Orabelle to identify what she said, with the exception of the hissing sound of the 's's.

After a few seconds, she moved her head completely outside of the water again, and began to speak.
"All of uss, Dhani, were created by Ssiku. Our bloodline iss the ssame of our goddess',and as she caresss for uss, ass we fight for our ssurvival.Ssiku, iss the mother of all Dhani..." Kari said, hoping she was clear about it.

Her tone was a prideful one.She took a lot of pride, by being a descendant of Siku herself. For being able to serve under her orders, help her, obey her, and worship her.She was a fanatic about her, even if she didn't worship with bloody rituals like most of her kind does.

OOCOmg, I had to post because no one has ever call Orabelle a dumbass and this would be a perfect time to show her temper lol

There was a crazy look in Orabelle's eye. Her soften had changed quickly to one that would match the Myrian tiger. Fearless, and ready to pounce. It had only taken half a chime for Orabelle's temper to boil. She didn't care who she was. Kari could be Siku herself but that didn't changed the fact that she upset Orabelle."The fuck you just called me?" She yelled, one of her eyes began to twitch."Watch your language around me! You have the nerve. You obviously do not know your own kind, to think I'm a filthy scum bag like yourself!"Orabelle growled." I'm sorry I don't know your goddess, but that's why you educate someone on her! I swear... were you dropped as an egg or did no one teach you manners? Watch your tone with me! I give respect and I expect it back!" Orabelle began ranting in fratavan, her words were slurring. She had switched from fratava to tukant which she knew little of and most of them were cusd words.

She calmed down and sighed."Laviku, forgive my sailor mouth. That's not me." Orabelle was somehow forcing herself to listen to Kari. She found the goddess interesting."In that case, I am sorry to insult the dhani race. I haven't met a lot of dhani and I won't let one of Siku's rotten eggs ruin my thoughts of them." She scowled at Kari. She was waiting for an apology.

"I hear that dhani are widely excepted here." Orabelle didn't make contact with Kari as she talked." But I'm surprised there's no temples here for Siku. " Whether Siku was good or bad or neither, like Avalis, she seemed very important to a race. She blessed the dhani and made them her cult.

Kari didn't seen stunned at all by it.In fact...she seemed a bit...bored.Dhani are widely distrusted, and sometimes even hated among other races, so this wasn't news.

Another human yelling at her.Typical.And then they wonder why so many Dhani decides to eat them. She didn't care about the rest of the woman's words, except for the rotten egg part. She simply did not care enough, now.If she was no ally, there was no reason to truly befriend her.

What Orabelle would hear was not an apology. It was quite the opposite, it was a yawn, seemingly bored of the svefra's sailor mouth.
"I called you a dumbasss, for thinking that Sssiku is a male name.If you're going to act like every other human I met in my life before I came to riverfall, of courssse you can do that."

Nyssa said, being rather careless with her words now, as she showed her fangs again.
"But, I think exchanging insssultsss wouldn't go anywhere, no matter how long we go at it.That much I have learned in my life."

The Dhani said, waiting a few ticks. She had learned during her childhood the pleasure of manipulating others' emotions. That was something that made her afraid of herself, afraid of enjoying torturing others, instead of gaining allies...but after being called a rotten egg, it was truly enough for her to wish to have some fun on her own, and be careless, even for a little while.

"I've heard there is an arena, where those who have their pride offended can challenge others, to a mercylesss brawl, where one beatsss the other into submisssion, to prove who isss right. It isss kinda the law of the city, now that I think about it, to sstop petty disscussssionsss.Kinda the law of the ssstrongessst, where the lossser often hasss to obey the winner for a whole ssseassson."

Her words brought a small pride to herself. She did not need to move a finger, either way she would win now.On one hand, if Orabelle challenged her to a match, Kari was sure she would win.On another hand, if Orabelle didn't, she would show herself as a coward.It...was frightening for her, such evil thoughts. The thoughts she wanted to keep away from her, to live a normal life...yet, she could not resist the temptation, after all, the woman hurt her pride as a Dhani.

Was it a dhani problem? To be so inconsiderate of how others feel? Probably. Orabelle shouldn't expect a dhani to understand a human woman. They took on the form of one but probably didn't understand how to be one. She didn't apologize at all, her rude behavior seem to continue. A rather bored and uncaring look she was giving which only made get more upset. No emotions, no guts, no nothing! Orabelle thought to herself. Why are these petching dhani here! What seemed to be rumors to the Svefrans ears actually made Orabelle smile. The Akalaks should take a page from the Myrians. They should trap the dhani race and, leave them be since they're so anti-social.

"Act like every other human?" Orabelle began to laugh."I'm the dumbass? Honey, you step out from underneath a rock and expect people to know of your culture and religion? I maybe a Svefran but at least we have the decency to tell people of our god. And you wanna know why all of us humans are 'the same'? Because we're not. Cold. Blooded!"

Orabelle shook her head."You know, insults wouldn't be exchanged if you'd act like you at least care for others. Stop thinking the way you do now... it obviously gets you into a lot of trouble." She sounded like she was talking to a toddler.

She doubt the dhani would listen. Orabelle could just tell she was a but stubborn and wouldn't come to common ground with her. They were going to bump heads, but she wouldn't leave this pool until her fingers wrinkled up. Orabelle tried not to keep an angry face. It would soon make her look older then she really was.

A face of horror spread across Orabelle's face."Firstly, let me just say how awful that is. A merciless brawl? Against you? I want to prove how ignorant you are, not lose my life to your ignorance." She spat." Besides, I have a lot of plans this season. Some- decisions..." There was a dramatic pause as she thought of what she wanted to do,"and a fight like that will definitely ruin it. How about this, you take my advice and be considerate of others unless that's how dhanis befriend people." She sighed." I forgot to mention the whole season thing, but what normal people do, and I don't mean just the humans, how about we show each other respect? If you're capable of excepting and exchanging respect?"
