Appearancename: Olaf
age:16
birthday: winter 56th 497 AV
race: human
Personality:
Olaf is a kind person, that doesn't mind helping a person out. Nor that most people would notice it though. He is shy and doesn't really know how to handle himself with people. At least living and breathing and thinking ones, with ghosts and animals he handles himself just fine. Still even if he doesn't always keep himself together in most social situations, getting nervous and putting his foot in mouth more often then not. He still tries earnestly to be a nice person.
Description
Olaf is of an average height. Standing about five foot and ten inches and is fit and lean from the work he usually does in the stables and his riding. He has long fiery red hair hair he usually doesn't bother to cut,or do anything special with. Whole loks have been cut out, to create ghostnails and ghostbeads though. He just Ties it back in a scruffy ponytail to keep it out of his face. His small beard is equally unkempt and scruffy. His clothes are sturdy and basic and he makes a slightly nervous impression at first glance.
Background
Olaf doesn't remember his mother really. He knows she is still alive. At least if the wild lands haven't taken her yet. His father fondly reminisced about his mother, often describing her as a willful lass who was like a fiery red breeze. Unable to be bound to a single place by any chains at all. Olaf still doesn't know what his father meant with being a fiery red breeze. But then again, his father always sucked at being poetic. No matter how much he claimed other wise, it probably had something to do with the color of her hair no doubt. His father told him his own hair was the exact shade hers was.
But in the end alive or not, only his father was around to raise him, doing everything in his means to make sure Olaf grew up as an honest and good boy, even dying when olaf was around ten years old didn't stop him from trying to guide his son. Instead of moving on he chose to stay behind as a ghost. Trying to guide him even as he was in the orphinage. Granted, being a ghost came with some quirks, quirks that sometimes alienated his son from the rest of his peers. Some of them found it creepy that a ghost was hanging around the child, refusing to come near him or play with him. A few spiritists came around during the years, but didn't have much success off letting him pass on. Still, they knew he would pass on as soon as Olaf grew up. He wasn't a dangerous or unfriendly ghost either, so they just let him be. Though they taught olaf a few tricks on how to deal with ghosts all the same. Ghosts where tricky and strange things and the child would be dealing with him on a daily basis. A few tricks to keep himself safe and sound and to help his father.
On the season of his 16th birthday, he finally became an adult in the eyes of his father. Causing him to move on. Fairly directionless from the fact he never really thought ahead in his life and feeling that while enjoyable, working as a stablehand for the rest of his life isn't for him. He joins the knights. Hoping that his skills with the dead can at least be of some use for them.
