6th of Spring, 514 AV

Anna was, for lack of a better turn of phrase, more than a little stir crazy at the moment. Spring had arrived and with it the tall sorceress had been off near the shore lines of Sahova, practicing and failing at Para-Elemental research. It was becoming rather monotonous all things considered; she couldn’t believe that the Nuit managed to go through the same motions for petching centuries. It was to be her fate now that she was a Wizard, to work and work until either she died or her research became not worth the Citadel’s time and she was disposed of quietly. It was rather depressing to think of it that was, hence why she was looking to escape the monotony.

The Vestibule was crowded relatively speaking, a place where Visitors, Apprentices, and Wizards alike mingled here and there. The TAR stood motionless in the Vestibule, its purpose being unknown to Anna as she had never properly been bothered enough to care. She walked past it rather briskly on her way to her true destination, where a small group had gathered. They were mostly Visitors, though Anna could see a smattering of Apprentices as she approached. Flashing that silver ring around her finger was enough for those Apprentices in the way to get the message, the Visitors following suit in slight confusion. The benefit of bearing a silver ring, though she would have paid good miza’s to watch their reactions to a Master ring.

What was before her was a large board of sorts with a number of documents resting upon it, tasks that Citadel Wizards like herself set up. Anna was in something of a mercenary mindset, besides she was something of a results driving individual and thus she had no doubt these jobs would be well enough. The sorceress had informed Kouri that she would be here, so Anna expected the child would be making her appearance soon enough. Part of the benefits to having a daughter was the free source of protection; such were the uses of the Grand Oath.

She leisurely took her time, running her eyes up and down the documents there as she searched for something worthwhile. Anna was looking to break the monotony so the ones regarding menial physical labor were very promptly ignored, she did have her reputation to think of after all. Eventually one managed to catch her eye and she reached up and plucked it from its place on the board, reading it over a few times.

Morzak Treker requests a Wizard or two to go into the Testing Grounds to fetch a Rankar tooth and scales. He requests that either a highly skill wizard, or a group of lesser skilled ones, bring him back these items, and he will reward them 100GM and possibly a Malediction Item as a bonus if the items are undamaged.

The mention of Malediction intrigued Anna to a great degree, her experience with Master Vick leaving her rather hungry for more knowledge regarding the art. An offering of such an item was simply far too good to pass up, regardless of whether its effects were beneficial to her personally or not. She also fit the bill as being a highly skilled wizard, so this made the task seem rather simple to her mind. Anna hummed slightly, folding the document in her hands and moving away from the board.

The sorceress looking this way and that, now that her little job had been found she just needed to wait for Kouri and then head out hunting for these Rankar. Part of her was hoping for a stimulating challenge, after all brute force being ill advised meant that going in blasting and blazing with reimancy a little unlikely. She’d need to think about this before running in, come up with a strategy of how to handle such fragile creatures. There were a number of other ways her reimancy could be used, it would just take some creative thinking.

OOCRight, so drop in as you are able to post and that will decide the posting order for the rest of the thread. :)

The ghost girl was inside Anna's room in the Sahovan Quarters, twirling around as she examined her own soulmist body. Long alabaster locks flowing with her motion, large crimson eyes looking towards to her own figure, then up to the Nuit who was examining her just two feet away, "So, Kriem, how do I look?" The phantom girl tilted her head, giving her Nuit maid a small smile. She looked different compared to usual, her white clothes replaced by an elegant black dress with purple ribbons, utterly contrasting her usual 'clothing' appearance. It was clear on where Kouri got her new look's inspiration from, it was Anna, her adoptive mother, the sorceress often wear dark clothing, specifically black and purple.

Mommy... Kouri felt a pang of sadness creeping within her, back in Winter, they signed a Grand Oath together, binding themselves to each other only for Kouri to find out later that Anna's side of the Oath was forgery, the human didn't truly sign an Oath, Kouri did. The realization of being betrayed once again combined with the prospect of eternal servitude broke the ghost girl's mind, but... due to the Oath's power, she was absolutely powerless against it, everything Anna said, she must obey. Truly, the Oath's first line made the rest redundant, Anna could just command her to not spread the news or slander her, Kouri would have no choice in the matter. "..." The ghost girl clenched her fists as she looked to the side in annoyance, her mind was not her own anymore, it was working against her, Annalisa owned her, mind, body, soul, and her very existence. There was nothing she could do, she might as well accept her fate.

"It's beautiful, Young Mistress..."

Kouri turned her back when Kriem complimented her with her ever-so-stoic voice, the ghostly little girl simply giggled as she approached the Nuit, materialized her body, controlled her touch's power, then hugged the Nuit, "Thank you, Kriem," her maid never betrayed her, emotionless and dull as she was, Kriem was a good person. There was no use pondering about this, her mother expected her in the Vestibule. With a final hug, the black-clad ghost girl released Kriem then floated outside of Anna's room.

Eight chimes later, The Vestibule

Kouri's small form floated on the Vestibule, phasing through any objects or people in her path, one of the perks of being ethereal was freedom of movement. The ghost girl's crimson eyes darted left and right as she sought out her mother, the large black ribbon behind her head neatly tied her long hair together. After a few chimes, she finally came upon the unmistakably tall, dark-haired human with gray eyes. The white mists around her form swirled gently as Kouri approached from her right side, her feet dropping down until she 'landed' on the ground, "Hello, Mommy," the ghost girl greeted politely, but she was already curious on the piece of paper Anna was reading, "Uhm, if I may ask, what are we doing here?" As far as she was concerned, nothing interesting was located in the Vestibule, it was simply a fancy entrance to the horror-filled citadel of undeads.

They Who Hunt Monsters? (Kouri, Clyde, Zand)

Postby Clyde Sullins on March 3rd, 2014, 10:03 pm

6 Spring 514

Clyde did not often go wandering about the facilities of Sahova. He tended to either stay in one bit, or the other, sometimes enjoying a nice quiet stroll on the undead isle, which only occasionally ended with something trying to eat him.

But then his strolls on the mainland had often not ended much more peacefully, so he was unsure if that was really much of an issue. Besides, he could handle himself well enough that little could harm him.

As Clyde walked about, heading through the Vestibule, he felt a small chill on the back of his neck, and then out of the corner of his eye saw something white and ethereal. As he did a double take, he realized it was the mists surrounding a ghost. After a further look, he realized it was a ghost he knew.

Seeing ghosts out and about where a rather rare occasion on Sahova, particularly seeing them inside of the citadel. Deciding to investigate, Clyde headed over that way.

But as he got closer, he made out the ghost in question, it taking a few extra moments to realize who it was due to her new dressing. It was Fubuki, a ghost he had seen last season... And next to her... Annalisa? She was a wizard Clyde had met a few times, having her "assist" him in a small experiment, and then further assisting him in some Magecrafting.

Then his eyes moved to the paper in Anna's hands, and to several similar ones on the wall.

"Ah..." But Clyde broke off, recalling that he should not call her Annalisa, from her prior explanation of the social and political structure of Sahova. Taking in a breath, he started over, trying to speak correctly this time.

"Wizard Marin? Kouri? What are you two doing here? And what are those papers about, particularly the one you have?"

I am actually in RL a super intelligent hamster from Rhode Island, with a 7 year plan to take over the world.

Update 6/2/18- 1:10AM EST: His 7 year plan a success, and several weeks ahead of schedule, Clyde leaves to oversee the world he has taken over.

No new threads after end of Spring 518-Will still be checking for PM's occasionally, but focusing on a new character.

Graders note: :
Please be aware Clyde is a master Magecrafter. He therefore should not be gaining full xp(or possibly shouldn't gain any at all) for simple tasks related to this magic, such as low level MC items, particularly for repetitions of creations he has done before. Feel free to contact me if unsure of a instance of his magic use compared to his skill level.

They Who Hunt Monsters? (Kouri, Clyde, Zand)

The Vestibule, her home away from home in Sahova – not that her quarters were worth bragging about. A dull box filled with cold, the only thing of true interest were her possessions and only then because they contained a few things that others wished her not to have. Sometimes it had been filled with Bitzer too, the conversation better than any other ideas she may have had regarding the other woman. Sometimes it was better to watch and listen than to partake, that was a fact she had had proven to her scores of times over. It was, in point of fact, exactly what she was doing yet again this day. There was always something quirky and of interest in the Vestibule.

The heart of Sahova, that is what I think of it as. Or at least, one heart of it. The public heart and domain perhaps. Haven’t really seen the rest of this isle she mused as she toyed with the handles of her tonfa.

Thomas had shown her some places, Vick a few others. Annalisa, well she had shown her something else entirely and that memory served to keep her marginally warm at night – in between the nightmares of paralysis that was. As if providence had listened to her internal monologue the wizard herself slipped into her field of vision, walking proudly and filled with the inner fire she had come to appreciate. She thought about greeting her and then leant back into the wall once more, content to watch her only for now.

I wonder if she knows anything about the TAR? Or at least more than she lets on? She is a tricky one to read she mused as she watched the scene unfold with interest.

A notice board was approached, a slip of paper that form this distance seemed no different from the others pulled away from the mass and considered, weighed perhaps. Everything was normal, that was until…a ghost showed up. She couldn’t hear anything from her vantage point but she assumed they were conversing – a strange oddity that made her push from the wall and start walking towards them, weaving through what little crowd there was. The another familiar face was with them, her feet closing in and circling around them to look at the board.

A cleaning schedule…an order for something or other…a hunt? I wonder which one she picked up? she ran through the possibilities – judging from previous experience a hunt seemed more likely but not ultimately proven.

She approached the odd gathering with caution.

“Wizard Marin” she bowed her head slightly, remembering her protocol this time and not striking her across the cheek, “I have not…seen…you in some time. Another job to do? Anything I might help with?” she asked, clearly hoping for an assent – her boredom was beginning to give her itchy feet on the island.

She merely nodded to the familiar male wizard formally, he had interested her somewhat but the note in Anna’s hand was of more interest at that moment. She tried not to shudder at the ghost…Kouri she had heard her called she thought. Her gaze kept glancing back at the formless shape though, it was difficult not to do so and she fancied she could feel a chill rippling through her body.

They Who Hunt Monsters? (Kouri, Clyde, Zand)

Postby Annalisa Marin on March 4th, 2014, 2:19 am

Kouri arrived quickly enough, her appearance now crafted to be wearing dark clothing with purple ribbons and it was rather reminiscent of Anna herself. The tall woman had opted to wear her more common clothing today, her good tunic and trousers on and sandals adorning her feet. At her side was a longsword, more for show than anything else but still provided some comfort in its presence. If she shifted one might note the glint of chain beneath her shirt, the only armor piece the sorceress owned. She looked rather the mercenary today, the ring around her right ring finger denoting that as being most certainly not the case.

The woman gave her adoptive daughter a small smile, the closest to a public display of affection as Kouri was likely to get in this instance. Good, she had arrived and hopefully between the two of them they would be able to get a sample of whatever these Rankar were. It wasn’t like Kouri would get anything for the journey, she was a ghost and more the point was Anna adoptive daughter via Grand Oath. It was rather cruel but Anna rather found she liked how Kouri was now the helpless one in their relationship, unable to harm her or disobey.

“Greetings, my girl. You look stunning today, I trust you slept well?” Anna inquired politely to Kouri.

Anna had been about to respond to her daughter’s inquiry when a familiar face appeared from the crowd, the sight of him touching that nagging part of her mind. Clyde Sullins, a fellow mage and a powerful one at that, one she had assisted in the art of Magecraft and had a few interesting magical discussions with. Also, he was a fellow Chaon though the sorceress kept that little secret under lock and key for respect of their mutual master and the desire to not petch up a potential alliance in the Citadel. He was interesting, and Anna had yet to ask the question that lay heaviest on her mind regarding him.

His inquiry had caused her to of course consider caution before revealing exactly what was in her hands, it wasn’t that she disliked him but more that unlike Kouri Clyde was due payment for labor. Then again, between her, Kouri, and Clyde it was likely they could succeed rather easily at this task as the other mage was obviously experienced. Besides, it would be a good chance to learn if Voiding was his only personal magic and perhaps provide time to talk with him.

“A pleasure to see you again, Mr. Sullins. I trust the day finds you well. As for what this is-,” Anna started before another person familiar to her strode up and asked a similar thing.

This particular face stirred heat within her and a slight spark of passion as she looked upon her face and her form, Dasoma Zanelli, their passionate tryst still locked in her mind. One of her better moments on Sahova that much was for certain, one that caused her some disappointment when she woke up cold and alone. Anna really needed to get a slave, some redheaded girl like Felicia perhaps? Sahova was not the place for an active younger woman.

So, the two had become four and now they had a little group gathered together which brought a tiny smirk to Anna’s face. A little grouping of the minds apparently, a sign from Rhysol perhaps of how to proceed in this venture? Anna was not one to deny providence all things considered, so these individuals were no doubt fated to be together at this moment in time. The tall sorceress unfolded the parchment and offered it out to the others to see. When she spoke her voice was smooth like honey, diplomatic in every sense of the word.

“A pleasure to see you as well Dasoma. Now then to answer Clyde’s question first, the board behind me is a place where Wizards put up the occasional odd task or two. This particular task is to find a creature known as a Rankar and bring scales and teeth to a Maledictor by the name of Morzak Treker. It has a reward of 100 Gold Rimmed Miza’s and a possible Maledicted item. I intend to go through with the venture myself, and Kouri will be coming with me of course. Would you two like to join us? Perhaps split the reward?” Anna offered.

“Oh! Yes, how silly of me to forget that you have not met her Dasoma. This is Fubuki Kouri, my adopted daughter. Kouri, this is Dasoma Zanelli, a friend of mine. It sounds like you and Mr. Sullins are already acquainted.” The tall sorceress introduced.

“So, what say you both? Interested?” Anna inquired.

"Thank you, Mommy..." Kouri gave Anna a polite obedient smile as if she was Anna's daughter and servant combined, the true nature of their relationship was much darker than that, with the ghost girl eternally bound to the human by a Grand Oath. The ghost girl had accepted her fate, but that didn't mean she had to euphoric about it, she was Anna's slave, no matter how they tried to sugarcoat it as a mother-daughter relationship. "Yes, I did..." She didn't sleep like mortals do, a 'rest period' would be the more appropriate term, but she understood Anna's concern for her, whether it was driven by true motherly love or the fact Anna wanted to use her powers today so she should be in her full power.

Kouri noted Anna's clothing was far simpler than her usual robe getup, with tunic, trousers, and sandals instead of flowing fabric. The sight of the longsword narrowed Kouri's eyes, that blade... the very same kind of blade which stabbed her back in the Bronze Woods of Syliras, wielded by a one of those evil men who called themselves defender of peace and civilization, the corrupt Syliran Knights. Surely, it was just a common longsword, but it carried a particular trauma for the phantom girl. She didn't speak it, Anna didn't need to know about that and frankly, Kouri doubted she would even care. The ghost girl turned her crimson eyes away from her mother for the moment, looking upon the new arrival, it was the mage of auras, Sir Clyde.

"Sir Clyde," The ghost girl grabbed the hem of her dress as she gave the male mage an elegant polite curtsy, their encounter with each other was short, but they bonded through possession, Clyde even taught her auristics at the expense of some of her soulmist. The ghost girl's mist kept swirling around her as she placed her hands in front of her, clasped near her belly, "I'm here to accompany my mother." She gave a simple answer, not in the mood for any childish shenanigans, they were in public after all. The Oath also rewiring her mind to not slander Annalisa's name, directly or indirectly, her acting recklessly could indirectly stain Anna's reputation so... as mentioned by the Oath, she couldn't do it, whether conscious or not.

It didn't end there, another arrival in the group, now it was in the form of an adult woman with blonde hair, one green eye, and... a strange white eye adorned with repulsing scars, combined with the wrinkles on the woman's feature gave Kouri the image that this woman was a veteran warrior of some sort, especially regarding those muscles. "..." She didn't know this human so her reaction was guarded, her blood-red eyes staring into the blonde-haired scarred woman. The ghost girl noticed that the woman seemed uneasy with her presence, occasionally glancing at her ethereal form with cautious eyes. This woman knew her mother though so that put her higher on the list of 'things to not murder'. If the woman looked at her, Kouri would give her a small smile while as she slightly tilted her head, obviously trying to spook her further.

Of course, her mother would introduce her to this... 'Dasoma Zanelli' if she heard correctly. What a strange name... at least her last name sounds good. She thought, Kouri simply curtsied to Dasoma, then she turned her gaze to Anna, "Yes, I met Sir Clyde in the Prairie, he allowed me to possess him so he could teach me uhm... Auristics, mommy, he asked for a piece of my soulmist in return." She told Anna everything, the woman could demand it out of her anyway.

The job looked interesting, it was to hunt creatures named 'Rankar', bringing their scales and teeth to someone she didn't care to remember his name, Kouri wasn't interested in the monetary reward either, she was there on Anna's orders, that was it. However, the maledicted item part did interest her to a degree, she floated closer to Anna then stood beside her when her mother mentioned Kouri was coming with her. The ghost girl let Anna handled this 'recruitment' session, whether Clyde or Dasoma decided to come or not, she didn't care. It would be nice to ask Clyde for another possession though, she wanted to feel more of his auristic senses.

They Who Hunt Monsters? (Kouri, Clyde, Zand)

Postby Clyde Sullins on March 5th, 2014, 2:13 am

Clyde blinked as Annalisa explained what the board was for... For some reason he had a inkling he should have known that, or that this meant something... He recalled back when the TAR did certain things, was this something to replace one of the tasks of the TAR? Or had this always been here... He spent a moment or two trying to muddle through his memories of his past on Sahova, but could not grasp onto a relevant memory...

But then with all the magic that had gone about in his head since then, it made sense that he would not recall to well such trivial facts.

He was unsure what a Rankar was, though the mention of the 100 gm reward... Money was not exactly a immediate issue for him, and 100 gm split 3 ways was rather small.

"You two can split the mizas, I find my interest in... Other things... But perhaps I would find such a artifact interesting, if we do in fact get one. Of course, I suppose that leaves more risk on myself of getting nothing, whereas so long as we succeed you would be assured to gain the 100 gold mizas, or 50 each..."

"But what is a risk without a possible reward? Well I suppose that would be the definition of foolishness. That's not right. Whats a reward without... A little risk? No, that's not right either."

Clyde paused for a moment, trying to recall how the saying went, before finally giving up with a loud exhale of air.

"I suppose I might be interested, if I get to keep said possible non-monetary rewards of questionable worth."

As Kouri turned to recognize him, a small grin split his face as she attempted a odd refined curtsy, and called him "Sir Clyde."

Clyde glanced between Annalisa and Kouri, unsure of the relationship between them, before turning back to Kouri to continue on in response to her proper ways.

"Ah, Sir Clyde, that sounds a bit stuffy... How about Sir Sullins? Surely a bit of alliteration never hurt anyone, and it seems to have a bit more of a ring to it?"

As he said this, he was smiling, which made it difficult to tell if Clyde was joking, or possibly teasing the ghost, or simply in a slightly better mood at the moment and so was smiling for that reason and not at the spirits expense.

However a frown came over his face as he heard Kouri call Annalisa "Mommy." Surely there was more to that story than he knew. Regardless, something was off, and she was acting like a different "person" from when they had last met.

They Who Hunt Monsters? (Kouri, Clyde, Zand)

Postby Zandelia on March 6th, 2014, 12:38 am

The ensuing conversation was both strangely difficult and at the same time intimately revealing for her. She had now learnt the full name of the strange young man she had approached so long ago now it seemed in the Gug Andjak. That was a small but powerful piece of information and she tucked it inside her mind to be catalogued away with the res tof the morass of tit bits she possessed. For the most part she kept her gaze upon Anna, her gaze greedily drinking in what she knew lay underneath the clothing. He appreciation was staggered though and interrupted by the ghost – she was smiling at her as if it were the most normal thing in the world for them to have met.

I suppose that it must be for her but…still… she told herself as she tried to forget the last ghosts she had met that had tried to rip her to pieces – she had been helpless and that sat poorly with her.

“Adopted daughter…” she merely repeated, her tone not unkind but filled with curiosity that was palpable, she would have to question the Wizard at a later opportunity, she would damned well make sure they would have one too, “nice to meet you…Fubuki. I hope you don’t take it the wrong way if I don’t hug you like a daughter’s greeting should be” she nodded her head and attempted an awkward flash of teeth that passed for a smile.

Strange though, that for all my time spent here in the Vestibule that I have not noticed this board. If only I had known of it sooner she mused until she remembered the dangers of Sahova and the Thron Hare’s poison.

No, it was better that this time she had more people to help her, her last hunting foray had been far from a glowing success.

“Yes, I know Sir Sullins,” she continued, leaving out that she had just learnt his name and pointedly not meeting the man’s gaze at the words, “he is positively interesting” she did smile properly then, it was a nice turn of phrase.

The note and its contents interested her more though, the promise of reward was always a decent motivator. She listened to Clyde’s terms and found them to be acceptable. She had had enough maledicted for her already and knew enough not to be greedy. What she had would serve her well enough and she didn’t need any more. She noted the mention of the Auristics and Soulmist, she knew the one but was not familiar with the other – more questions that needed answered. Profitable indeed.

“I care not for maledicted trinkets, my interests don’t lean that way. The money seems low for the task, though I can’t say that I know what a Rankar is. Any of you know?” she questioned them, her green orb flashing from one to the other in rapid succession, assessing to seem if recollection sparked in their eyes.

“At any rate, I couldn’t let a…mother…come to harm on my watch. They are important creatures after all. Very important. I’ll tag along if you’ll have me. I don’t have your magics perhaps but I fancy I can fight better” she pinned Anna at those words, seeking any window into the woman she knew existed.

She wondered if the mother aspect was an act, she couldn’t reconcile it at all in her mind. Especially not with a ghost. No, there was something more at play and she had a mind to discover what it was. If she was not good at anything else she was good at piecing together seemingly disparate information into a nice little jigsaw.

“So, know where we have to go?”

Anna quirked an eyebrow at Kouri’s little gift of information regarding Clyde’s magic, she already knew him to be an aurist but Kouri didn’t know that. A sign that she was much more loyal than she rightfully needed to be perhaps? Anna was pleased and reminded herself to reward Kouri for this display of loyalty at a later date. For now however they had a task to carry out so she allowed herself to hear the answers of her… friends? No, that wasn’t quite right, Clyde was a solid colleague most certainly and a fellow Chaon and Zand was more a lover of sorts at the moment. Friendship was a luxury she could ill afford on Sahova no matter how much she might want it.

Clyde’s attempt at the turning of a phrase brought a slight curl to Anna’s lips, he was a little odd all things considered but it was endearing in a sort of way. Eccentric came to mind as a description, though he was extremely logical and while some might claim it was to a fault Anna rather liked it. He was certainly interesting to be around if nothing else, though she still found her mind plagued with curiosity regarding his origins. According to Elaine, he was from Ravok but other than it being a city that worshipped Rhysol Anna knew little about it. She intended to find out a little more soon enough on her own time.

“I believe the phrase you are looking for is without risk there is no reward, and I’d be inclined to agree with you Mr. Sullins.” The sorceress said.

The tall woman pondered Clyde’s request for being given the possible maledicted item as his reward for his involvement, after a bit of pondering she nodded in agreement. Vick had already awakened a hunger for the art of malediction within her; he was a Master of the art and could provide and number of items to her if the need arose. Of course, he had a habit of testing them on her which was rather irritating all things considered but in exchange for the power the tall woman was fine with it. Vick was a Nuit of his word if nothing else was true.

“Very well, I suppose that is fair Sir Sullins. If we are indeed awarded an item of maledicted origins at the end of this venture it shall go to you.” The woman said, using his new title with some slight teasing amusement in her tone.

As for Dasoma she seemed willing enough though that hardly surprised Anna, from what little she knew of the other woman she seemed to gravitate towards things that were exciting and dangerous. She did wince slightly at the other woman’s pinning words, if only she knew the depths of the evil that lay inside of her heart. The sorceress recognized there was something fundamentally wrong in her relationship with Kouri, what she had done to her would be considered unforgivable by some. Anna justified it as being the only way to save her own hide.

As for what a Rankar was… that was a very good question all things considered and prompted the tall woman to check the document for any mentioned of them beyond the name. There was nothing on the front so she flipped to the back and was given a very brief and vague description, as well as a habitat of sorts. She read it aloud to her comrades, figuring it was hardly useful or advantageous to keep them in the dark about their quarry.

“According to this the Rankar is a small lizard like creature that can be found in any habitat living in extreme conditions. Pretty vague, but it’s something to go on at the very least I’d say. Perhaps we should start our search in the Prairie? One doesn’t get much more extreme in terms of living conditions than there in my experience.” The sorceress said.

At least no where she was in a hurry to revisit, like the Heartlands which was extremely prominent on her petching list. The tall woman wracked her brain for other locations that could be considered extreme, short of the sea, which she was in no hurry to jump in, and the Bloodhills, which probably required an initiate escort she couldn’t think of much. Perhaps one of the Mudpools if it really came to that and they found nothing in the Prairie? Sahovan locations were rather varied all things considered, so it was difficult to know exactly where to start looking.

OOCSorry this took so long! Mod duties and all...

The ghost girl gave a slight tilt of her head at Clyde's odd request, well it would not be that odd if Clyde didn't specifically ask for his last name just for it to fit alliteratively. Still, it wouldn't hurt to adjust it, the ghost girl liked the word play as well, "Ehehe~" She gave him a haunting giggle, a slight mischievous smirk curled at the corner of her ethereal lips, "Okay, Sir Sullins." The mage had a smile on his face, Kouri appreciated that. For the ghostly girl, the little kind and welcoming gestures that someone made actually made a noticeable impact on how she viewed the person. Rude people tend to not live long if she could get away with it...

While the male human mage leisurely conversed with her, this female human - who seemed to know her mother well - didn't, she looked nervous and edgy. The ghost girl merely gave a slight frown was she adjusted her hair ribbon, giving the blond-haired human a strange glare, part curiosity for her one milky eye, and part offended because of her nervous behavior. Kouri thought that people in Sahova should be familiar with beings like her already, whether they were Nuit or human. This woman must be new? If she was new, then she should be dead with that kind of attitude... perhaps she would later, Kouri couldn't care less unless the woman changed her attitude or her mother told otherwise of course. "It's fine, ...some people are dying to my hugs though... you sure you don't want one?" She gave Zand a rather childish smile, but beneath the innocent surface lied an ethereal monster straight out of children's nightmares.

Kouri turned her attention back to her 'beloved' mother, so even her didn't know much about this 'Rankar'. From what little she knew, they were small lizards, well how hard could it be? "Eh... catching lizards?" Kouri couldn't help but let her boredom show, she thought they were going on a quest to capture a large creature with three canine heads or something, of course, her child-like mind didn't realize that size didn't really matter in Sahova, as evident by her own state. Not many little girls could contain as much power as her own in a little body.

"Prairie? Mommy... there's uh..." Though she hunted there occasionally, there was this lingering fear of the giant Scorpion-cobra hybrid monster that hunted soulmist and could shoot our souldart-like spine that incapacitated her with just two hits, this was why she mostly kill monsters on the Outskirts, venturing deeper could result in meeting another one of those monsters. Celeste and Brom saved her once, they wouldn't be there for a second time. Granted, she got her mother as her protector and these two other people as baits... but, she was still afraid, "There's this giant monster that uh... likes to eat people like me... s-so, uhm... I'll still follow you, but could you protect me if it showed up?" She didn't want to say 'ghosts', deep down inside, she still believed she was a Vantha girl. The ghost girl would stand even closer to Anna, slightly losing her mischievous demeanor earlier and she would follow the party wherever they might go.
