Pets
Percival, often nicknamed “Percy” or “Perce”, is Adam’s beloved pet Merlin. The young bird’s canary yellow face and indigo tipped beak distinguishes him from his brothers whom Adam’s father had bred. Percival’s breast is as pale as snow, his head a chocolate brown smattered with dark greys over a base coat of white. The top of his head bears a cerulean shade that deepens into a midnight blue as it runs along his nape and down to his back and wings. Under bright sunlight Percival’s feathers lighten slightly, giving it a bluer sheen. The young bird of prey had been gifted to Adam by the boy’s father, and the two have been inseparable ever since. Percival loves to perch upon his owner’s shoulders or arms whenever possible, if not upon the wooden perch available to him in the Edholm household. Although independent and mild-mannered, Percival has the tendency to cling onto Adam and taunt him playfully by giving him soft pecks on the cheek or flapping his wings against his face.
Associates
Father
Samuel is Adam’s father, who shares his passion for falcons and other birds with his brother, Robert. He married young to a woman he dares not speak of, although his brother claims she had been an Ethaefal who had turned to glittery ashes one evening. Samuel refuses to speak of her, and avoids the subject at all costs, hiding behind a curtain of stoicism that Adam had clearly inherited from him. He handles a small trading business alongside Robert, where they deal with the private distribution of hunted game and bred falcons. He is, however, less active in the marketing aspect of it when compared to his brother. Samuel has a high value for birds, especially his favourite ones, the Merlins. While generous, loving, and kind to his sons, the man is very keen on instilling in them the value of hard work by making them earn their own keep and actively be of assistance within the household.
Brother
Andrew is Adam’s younger brother, whom he loves to teasingly refer to as “Andy” on certain occasions, much to the boy’s chagrin. The boy is only a year younger than Adam and looks very much like him from the structure of his face to the build of his body, causing most people to mistake them as twins, or even as one of them for the other. What sets Andrew apart from Adam aside from the little beauty mark above the latter's mouth, however, are his facial expressions, which evoke much more emotion than that of his stoic older brother. Andrew is considerably more playful and carefree, preferring to await instruction and then do the job however he pleases. He and Adam are often seen together before and after their hunting trips, cracking jokes and discussing trivial things under the afternoon sun. Andrew owns his own Merlin, Viveka, whom he is just as attached to as Adam is to Percival.
Uncle
Robert is Adam’s uncle, older brother to Samuel. The man is just as serious about his falcons as his brother is, but does not share his passion for cooking. Nonetheless, Robert is amicable and easy to speak to. However, is often out of the house dealing with trade work or partaking in Lhavitan festivities, and is usually only home for some rest hours and meals. Robert's beloved Merlin, Arienne, perished not too long ago due to an unforeseeable accident in the woods, and ever since then he has limited himself from bonding with any birds or falcons, preferring instead to spend his time on other things.
Cousin
Noah is Adam’s cousin and son to Robert, Adam’s uncle. The boy is only a year older than Adam, and lives with his father just a few blocks away. Very much unlike the bird lovers his relatives are, Noah is more of a fisherman, preferring to go out by the docks and spend his time with a hook and tackle, and then experiment on his catches over a pan and a flame back home. He is often the one who prepares the meals at his home, and he frequently visits Adam's place to ask Samuel for advice. Noah is a soft-spoken and shy boy, although when he is around his cousins he can become rather boisterous. He he loves his father’s bobcat, Katarina, whom he enjoys spoiling with homemade treats.
Animals
Viveka is Andrews pet Merlin. She was gifted to him by his father, Samuel, just as he had gifted a Merlin to Adam. Viveka is much chubbier than Adam’s Merlin, Percival. Her coat is a deep, reddish brown that thins around the sides of her face and her torso, revealing a cream base coat that pales along her neckline. Viveka is extremely fidgety and playful, and has a hard time keeping still, a trait that complements her master quite well. She and Percival are decidedly close, as the two had grown up together alongside their masters. Viveka is a prime hunter alongside Andrew, but on certain times of the day the falcon prefers to lazy about or play.
Gunnar is Samuel's old Merlin. The bird has been with the man for years, and has ever since been a constant companion and friend to him. Gunnar's ash-colored wings and back are a contrast to the rich brown of his nape and torso. A smattering of white feathers cover his neck and head, along with his beak, giving him a dramatic look. Gunnar can often be seen flying around just outside the Edholm household, admiring the view. Quiet and introspective-looking, the old falcon never strays too far from his owner, whom he always returns to when the sun begins to set.
Katarina is Robert’s old bobcat. She meows often in front of strangers who visit their property, earning immediately their affection. To Adam and his brother, however, Katarina is sassy and snobbish, refusing to let them pet her or hold her. In spite of this, she loves to be around Robert's son, Noah, whenever he is within the vicinity, due to his liking of feeding her treats and scratching her behind the ears. She loves lounging in front of Robert's home or inside on top of Noah's bed.

............Along the Sartu District and nearly beside the edge of the steep mountainside stands the cluttered, yet homey Edholm household. Precisely upon entrance you are greeted by skyglass-paned mahogany windows overflowing with Syna’s light, giving vibrance to the hardened clay floors and the moulded custard-colored walls which have been hollowed out in some areas to form shelves the shape of bells. Glassware of all shapes and sizes take the space of these shelves, as well as earthen plates and bowls used for cooking and dining. Right in front of the doorway sits a small cot covered in colourful pillows and furs, while a small stairway made of clay and sliced logs spirals towards the second floor, supported by a long piece of tree bark. Right next to the cot is a wooden perch reserved for a falcon, while behind the stairway is a quaint little kitchen and beside it, a simple dining area fit for three and an orange cushion seat that can barely fit one.
All around the first floor are odds and ends, loose pieces of clothing, miniature potted plants, and pieces of artwork that have accumulated over the years due to the considerable size of the Edholm family, as well as their inexplicable habit for hoarding things they find of sentimental value. Most of these things would never sell well in the shops due to their age, but they remain cluttered around the house all the same. The entire room smells of either sweet pastries or cooked Willow Goose, as the patriarch of the family is a seasoned cook.
Once one climbs up the staircase, however, they are met with a much emptier room of the same size as the one below it. A small hearth sits at one end of the room while the rest of the furnishings have been kept on the opposite of it, right against the large oval skyglass-paned window overlooking the Alpine Wilderness. Vegetation has clung to the window’s wooden supports, but it does nothing to prevent Syna’s light from flooding the room.
On the very end of the window sits a stout bed covered in clothing, pillows, and furs, just enough to fit two people while leaving little room to stretch. Right beside it stands a stone table covered in tools, equipment, and knickknacks owned by the Edholm brothers. Below the table are a few chairs that seem a little too small for the men who live in the house, as they have been in their possession ever since the Edholm boys were born. Opposite the window and away from the hearth and staircase are a pair of perches standing alongside each other, with multiple other falconry paraphernalia lying next to them.
The Edholm family, while small and simple, has been living in Lhavit for a very long time. Because of this, many Lhavitan citizens, especially those of their district, recognise them. They are the friends of many, as they often partake in the various Lhavitan festivities offered daily. Visitors, both familiar and unfamiliar, are welcome to come in and have a nice Lhavitan meal and acquaint with the family's falcons, and perhaps even learn a thing or two about cooking or falconry.
