Postby Valdoran on June 5th, 2014, 7:23 am

Valdoran was entering the city through the other gate, via the water, he had travelled a long way over the course of the last 4 months however he felt that this would be the place to look for a new life and chase his dreams, no matter how hard they would be to fulfil.

As he departed from the boat his footfall felt heavy, and as he began walking he wondere where hi energy came from, he hadn't eater in a few days, did not sleep spectacularly and now arrived in an area where it was bright, vibrant and unconfined by stone or mountains, being awestruck by what was around him he managed to bump into the crossed spears of the guards as they yelled at him "Boy! Watch where you tread! And state your business here"
He was shocked at himself as he said to the guard "My apologies sir, I was simply admiring your city is all, and I'm here to find work and to hammer out the rest of my life"
The guard sniffed with distain at the boy "If you're here for work then we won't say no, just keep your nose clean and conform to the laws we have and you'll do fine, now sod off!"

On the order being barked at him he jumped and walked past the pair of guards only turning to say in a hurried tone "y-yessir", he was so worried in fact that he accidentally walked into a man, almost taking him off his feet, only to catch his coin purse while he was flailing around on one foot and walking off with a "So sorry sir!" And a smile plastered on his lips as he thought 'my dream will come true in this place of law and order, how ironic'

Postby Moose on June 5th, 2014, 10:52 am

As Moose approached the city, thoughts of adventure, drinking mead with faithful companions, bedding the finest women...all these thoughts clouded his mind. He couldn't wait for the adventures that awaited him. He hadn't tested his sword arm in months, due to traveling in a wagon for a majority of his journey. He wondered where he could find someone to tell him about recent events in the city, and perhaps...any bounties on creatures, or criminals...

He walked through the city gates and nodded in hello to the gate guards and gave a slight smile to them to show his good faith...

Moose's newest adventure begins here...in Syliras

Postby Vertigo Greene on June 5th, 2014, 6:13 pm

Vertigo walked slowly to the city of Syliras, the heart of Sylira. On his back were the things that weren't rooted down in Zeltiva. He smiled, thinking of the culture of the city, a place he'd never been to before. Of course, Leonis is there, his short-sleeved polyester shirt covering little of his black Isurian arm.

Life in Syliras should be awesome.

[Syliras Entrance] The Main Gates

Postby Skylar Draykin on June 8th, 2014, 2:50 am

Day 61 of the Season of Spring, 514 AV

Skylar approached the gates. Finally, she made it the city. She looked up at the tall gates and was slightly awestruck. She had never been outside of Sunberth so she.had never seen structures so tall. While she stared, Skylar didn't ay attention to the others around her until somepne shoved into her. "Watch it, scum." The man said as he conti.ued to walk. Skyr almost shouted out to him but looked down. Her clothes were pretty basic, even a little torn. She should have brought better clothes. But that would have meant more time. in Sunberth, more time in the pain. No, she did the right thing. As she looked around, she paid more attention to the people around her. She noticed some were carrying bottles and uknown smoking bowls. She scowled slightly at the things she could only assume were apart of some sort of magic. She saw others with animals. Some regular farm animals, others with wild animals. Skylar stared particularly hard at a tiger. She was passing it closely when it became a human. Skye jumped back in suprise. She had heard stories of Kelvics even in Sunberth. But she had never met one or even seen one.

Slye was so entranced by what she saw that she almost ran into one of the guards. "Ma'am, please state your buisness." Said the particularly handsome guard. "I-I'm here for better pay." She stammered. She never usually shown fear, but she was so overwhelmed by everything, she couldn't keep herself in check. Andwhat she said wasn't a lie. It just wasn't her sole purpose. But it would help her reach her goal: to forget. Or at least numb the pain. "I just gotta check you over. Make sure you're not ill with anything." He checked main places like her eyes, her gums, and her neck. " You are free to go. The employment office is just inside the market." The guard said with a smile. " Thanks." Skye replied. She wasn't looking for friends at the moment.

[Syliras Entrance] The Main Gates

Postby Orthos Grassrunner on June 8th, 2014, 10:15 pm

Eighty-eighth day of Spring, year 514

Orthos followed the small train of people towards the main gates, slowly awaiting his turn to speak to the guards and enter the city. He hoped that after dealing with all the people that they see every day, the guards would have some understanding of Pavi, as his knowledge of the Common tongue was very poor. It was finally his turn, and he rode up to the guards on his Strider, his dog following close behind. He was met with some upset glances from the guards, as Orthos didn't understand that it was rude to stay mounted while talking to other individuals. The guards exchanged looks at one another before the one on the left said, "State your business and ask if you need directions."

He understood only very little of what they said, such as "business" and "directions", but figured he understood what the man meant. He smiled at the guard and began in Pavi, "Hello. I'm here to make a name for myself, and earn money in the process. I'll need directions to both the stable and the marketplace." The guards exchanged glances once again and the guard on the left spoke to the one on the right, "You handle this one." The guard on the right looked back at Orthos and began in very basic Pavi, explaining the location of both the Grand Bazaar and the stables before sending Orthos on his way, through the main gates.

Summer 32nd 514 AV, 12th Bell

Their caravan had been on the move since earlier this morning and with the move from the outpost made they'd made a pace that felt ever so sluggish for the walls of Syliras, yet those walls finally grew in size until at last the very gates that exhaled the life of the city and eventually came to greet the weary travelers that had come far. They were definitely quite a ways from the home they left behind but with the long journey for likely an only hope, the group that had braved the walk through the wilderness with the caravan could finally feel a true sense of ease as their wagon lulled to a slow pace. Ricky himself hadn't the thought to ponder upon the fact they arrived as his skull literally felt as though it were bound to split open at any given moment, a hard heavy throb often felt in the core of his mind as the illness waited to poison him further.

It'd been a long venture for him. Between surviving the never ending attacks of his condition and the hallucinations of people he knew dead, as well as what he thought was an imagined encounter from slavers, Ricky couldn't possible find it within himself to bear much longer as he endeavored to make this trip. But they did it. They had arrived at their destination and at last hope was in reach! All that remained was to gain entrance to the city and in turn seek out the only means that provided them such hope. He looked up to the fortified walls that guarded the inner reaches of the city, only to grimace with a hand pressed on the side of his forehead as he felt a heavy sense of woozy wash over his entire form. A hand found itself on his shoulder, and sure enough when he looked down to it he found the face of his beloved. His wife who he could only think was so beautiful even now, even after going for so long without the essentials to comfort her at home. They had both endured a long trip, one that they never wanted to be forced to make again.

"Almost there Ricky, just a little further." She encouraged with a soft fragile smile, Ricky managed to crack a small smile of his own in return, even with the sheer amount of exhaustion he felt from this trip to Syliras. No doubt they were all tired with the pressure they felt, considering they were pressed for time knowing the fisherman could very well fail to make it. He took her hand and held it dearly as they continued to walk, that is until the caravan leader stopped to greet the knights stationed at the gates. How unfortunate. They were going to do their usual inspections with the animals and the cargo, even when the peddler that led them here looked to be an honest and simple merchant. No doubt they wondered what exactly a couple followed by a fiery red head were doing, but thanks be to Priskil they weren't prone to immediately question the lot. After the peddler finished talking with the knights and the inspection had been done, they were granted freedom for entry and in turn found that the inner reaches of Syliras welcomed them with a pattern so blatantly familiar, yet so very welcome after the time spent in the isolated reaches of the wilds. Civilization.

They had done it. They had finally arrived. Now all that was left was to settle in, in turn finding out just where Ricky needed to go in order to heal his deathly condition. "The place you'll want to find is The Soothing Water Bath and Massage, they've healers there so one of them has to be the so called Priestess your healing friend mentioned." Hannah explained as she walked forward, a look of concern sharp on her face as her eyes looked into Ricky's face. Out of the three of them he was definitely the most exhausted, then again of course fighting to live against something that kills you slowly can be the most daunting trial in your life after all. "I'll handle your living arrangements, come find me at the Traveler's Row afterwards so you two will have a place to sleep. And Ricky, just hold on a little longer. You're right on the doorstep to being saved after all." She added with a little hope that would encourage him further.

With a bit of direction given as to where they would find this Soothing Waters place, both Ricky and Telion made their way in the direction they needed to head. Their pace wasn't as fast as some would like due to the fact Ricky literally felt sore beyond exhausted, but it was only a matter of time before they would found the place that would be his salvation.

[Syliras Entrance] The Main Gates

Postby Thauriel on June 24th, 2014, 3:26 pm

Thauriel paused in her stand as she looked at the gate that stood before her in a sense of glory in the sunlight. Never was too fond of cities, admittedly. But when the calling, well, calls one must do everything survive.
Surveying those she came with, her eyes narrowed at the sight of the knights that stood near the gate; their voices often peeking up every so often. She hated knights; she hated those who forced people to obey them. Maybe it was her own thoughts or those of a young child who grew up in Sunberth. Maybe both. Staring down at her raggedy clothes that were not for a lady (as she heard one of the elderly women hush to her equally as old friend) she hoped to exchange the rags for maybe something finer - or better.

With her cold calculating eyes, Thauriel swung her hair back to tie it in a knot at the base of her neck. The strands of hair were filled with the mud and dirt from sleeping on the ground for many nights but she knew that she could find someplace to clean the tresses. 'Maybe I should cut it short,' a thought ran past her mind as she finished knotting her hair and dropping her arms.

"Don't be ridiculous," Thauriel murmured to herself as she realised her group was nearing the gate. Quickly finding her foot, she made to catch up to them, speaking to herself. "Mom always wanted it to be long."

At the thought of her mother, the young girl's heart quivered in her breast, shaken with sadness and despair at the loss of the woman who had given her life and breath. Her mama was the most beautiful woman she had seen; Thauriel wished, when younger, that she herself could be that pretty. But she had grown up since then.

Nearing the gate, she walked up to the knights, standing to her full height of 5'3 - which was nothing compared to their 5'9 and their 6'2.

"Please state your business," said the smallest of the two as his grey eyes narrowed at the sight of the teen. 'I'm here to murder innocent people,' the sarcastic retort sounded in her mind. Thauriel never really was one for humor.

"I'm here for better pay," was the non-sarcastic answer. The knight was pleased and turned to his companion - who looked to be the more handsome of the two. He stepped forward and all but glared down at the sight of dirt covered girl - who glared back at him.

"I must check you down so that you do nor harbor any illnesses or diseases or anything that can bring danger," the giant man - in her eyes - told her in a surprisingly soft voice. With a curt nod, the knight proceeded to pat the girl down, having to squat slightly.

His hands didn't linger - which surprised her as she was used to disgusting men in his position to do - as he pat his hand firmly on the inside of her thighs and down her legs. He kindly asked - more like ordered by Thauriel's standards - for the girl to open her mouth.

She did as her ordered and he peered and - seeing nothing wrong - told her to close as her checked her eyes and ears.

"You may pass through the gate," he affirmed as he stood back, his eyes turning to the elderly woman (the same woman who had made a comment about Thauriel's clothes to her friend) and Thauriel passed without so much as a glance back.

[Syliras Entrance] The Main Gates

Postby Aerion on July 4th, 2014, 8:40 am

Waiting in the line beside Teren for their turn to go through the gates, Aerion surveyed his surroundings with his piercing emerald green eyes; as his father taught him to, he kept track of those around him, the noises, the hustle, and the bustle. He moved forward behind a pack of youth that was obviously barely younger than he, yet much shorter. Even among his own people, Aerion was always on the taller side, his pure white clothing making him seem even taller.

He heard shouts up ahead and instantly turned his gaze to the front of the line, where fighting seemed to be breaking out. All of a sudden three men ran from the line, one of them limping. Aerion shook his head and thought to himself, "Criminals, vandals, they're the same everywhere."

A few minutes later he finally reached the front of the line, gazing at the guards with interest, his eyes lingering on their well made armor, and their simple but finely crafted swords hanging on their hips. Noticing Aerion's gaze, the guard put his hand on the sword and said, "Looking to cause trouble too?" Teren nudged Aerion with his nose, snuffling and shaking him out of his admiration of the craftsman who made the equipment. Aerion answered, "No trouble, just appreciating the fine craftsmanship of your weapons and armor. I am a Blacksmith by trade." The guard relaxed a little, but did not remove his hand from his sword, then replied, "Very well, move along, but don't be causing trouble around here." Aerion moved forward into the city, feeling the cold stone walls surrounding him. For the first time in his life, he didn't have open space around him, he felt trapped.

As he passed through the second gates, he was finally able to release the breath he had not realized he was holding. He then beheld the beauty of the city, knowing this was indeed the place that he had been called to, by someone, or something...

[Syliras Entrance] The Main Gates

Postby Ra'ema on July 5th, 2014, 5:36 am

She saw the city gates off in the distance and she took a deep breath and exhaled slowly a small smile forming on her lips. She mounted off her horse, Mar'lis, to walk the rest of the way. She lead her horse to the gates with her and she couldn't help but feel relieved that she had finally found were she was suppose to go or at least she could be safe inside city gates for awhile.

As she stepped closer to the gates she felt the force that was pulling her to the city grow stronger. This made her absolutely sure this was the place she was meant to go. She paused about halfway to the gates and turned to face Mar'lis. With her hands on either side of Mar'lis face she said,"Ready Mar'lis?" She smiled seeing that she was more ready to go into the gates then she was herself. She nodded once and turned back to walk the rest of the way towards the gates.

She had then made it to the line outside the gates where she waited for her turn into the city. She felt a little nervous as this was her first time in another city, to calm herself she decided to examine the city walls. She looked up at the large walls and stared in awe at their beauty. She had finally distracted herself enough when it was her turn.

The guards called out to her snapping her out of her state of awe. She looked at them confused as to why they called out her, she had nearly forgotten why she was here.

"I said, state your business for being here." One of the guards said in an annoyed tone.

She blushed a bit in embarrassment saying in response, "O-oh, um yes...I'm visiting. I do not have any particular business I need to attend to here." She hoped that was enough explanation for them to let her in.

The guard rolled his eyes and gestured for her to step though gates. "Have a nice 'visit' then." He said in a sarcastic tone and shook his head.

She bowed her head and said a quick thank you, making her way into the city. As soon as she'd made it through the gates she looked around at all the buildings. Houses, shops, everything looked so different from her city. Wow, this is quite the city of beauty. She walked along city streets with her horse taking her time to let this sink in.
I will not be here July 25-27 due to some personal matters. However I will return the 28 to resume all RPs/Threads

[Syliras Entrance] The Main Gates

Postby Dugan Vallenfort on July 16th, 2014, 4:00 am

Dugan slowly walked towards the town of his childhood with his meager posessions, looking at the dirt he stepped on and only the bird's singing to tell him he was not alone. Now glancing towards the gate, the temptation to stop and go back passed through his mind but this wouldnt stop him from going forward.. He finaly made it to the gate and took a deep breath before being spoken to by one of the present guards with an imposing tone.
''State your business!''
A little startled by the tone in which he was spoken Dugan answered with a low nervous voice.
''I... i'm just l-looking for work.''
''I can't hear you!''
The guard walked closer to the man to hear and get a better look at him. Using the same tone he repeated his order.
''I'm looking for work, sir.''
''Hah! You heard that Gilbert? The man be looking for work. With some chance he wont end up with the rest of them stinking beggars. What do you think, should we let him in?'' shouted the guard at his co-worker still standing by the gate behind him.
''Just let him in you idiot before the captain scolds us for causing some more pointless ruckus.''
''Gah, your no fun. Fine, enjoy your stay.''
With this, Dugan gave them a thankful nod and walked past the gate with an urgency to get away from this unpleasant character. Much had changed in the years he had been away and as he crossed a familiar alley, a tear rolled down his cheek. The smith his father used to work in, where he learnt everything he knew, had been replaced by a stable. Whispering to himself while turning away, he started searching for work.
''I'll find out what happened to you... this i swear.''
