Race: Forsaken Ethaefal (Human)
Gender: Female
Date of Fall: 15th of Winter, 512 AV
Place of Fall: Middle Suvan Sea, near Kenash

Physical Details: While Leth reigns, Vespa is a beautiful but simple creature. She stands above most races at a height of six feet and five inches, weighing one hundred and fifty-seven pounds. Her skin is covered in an opalescent sheen, similar to the moon's glow. Vespa has an unusually masculine appearance, lean muscles rippling beneath the silvered flesh of her long limbs.

Vespa's horns are short, black things that resemble the stinger of a wasp, the constellation her name is derived from. Her hair is a mass of soft curls, argent strands that capture the light of the moon and seem to glow in its presence. Just below the spirals are dark indigo orbs flecked with silver. As the seasons turn she remains the same, whilst Vespa's brethren change their colors. She is Forsaken.

When Leth's rays fade and Syna takes rule, Vespa's ethereal appearance is lost. She becomes human, her hair lengthening and shifting into sleek chocolate locks that reach down to her shoulders. Her eyes mimic her hair, coffee-brown threaded with hazel. The Ethaefal's height decreases, now only five feet and four inches. Her weight lowers to one hundred and fifteen pounds.

Character Concept

Vespa has a deep hatred of the moon. She believes that Leth spat her out of his realm on purpose, leaving her to perish in the cruel world. The god she loves now is Laviku, knowing that he carried her to safety when she fell. And although she still yearns to dwell amongst the stars in her once-patron god's realm, she knows he would never accept her again.

The Ethaefal often stays up late, gazing at the moon in her celestial form. Her habits have earned her the title, 'The Insomniac', retiring to bed late and having to wake early.

Character History

Leth. That so-called 'god' spat me out of his domain and left me to rot in this forsaken land.

"The first thing I remember is falling. Falling, with the wind rushing by. It was as if Zulrav himself was trying to slow my ungraceful descent. The next thing I remember is the ocean reflecting Leth's rays, silver waves reaching up to catch me. The water was so, so cold. It penetrated my bones and froze my muscles. Everything went black.

"The next thing I know I'm lying face-up on the shores of a lake, with humans all around me, chattering in a tongue that sounded like they were choking on something. Their syllables were fast and to the point, hands moving in some form of communication. I made a sound, alerting the humans that I was indeed alive, if bruised and battered. One of them asked my name in a language I knew. I attempted to mimic the celestial song that told others who I was, but it was a pitiful copy.

"I decided on Vespa, informing the humans of this. They took me in, teaching me their tongue; it was called Fratava. Shortly after they assisted me in standing, I discovered something hanging about my neck. It was a cord, and at the end of it was a disc carved from mother-of pearl. I deemed it to be a gift from Laviku, not from Leth, despite its similarities to the full moon.

"They assigned other people, thin and wasted, to teach me how to cultivate various crops. They put me in the least-populated areas of the plantations, giving me time to myself whilst harvesting supplies for them. I felt like I was doing something good. They told me I had fallen in Kenash, and the twelve Dynasties ensured the survival of each other and their people.

"They told me that I was called Ethaefal, a rare creature. They wanted to keep me free of taint, which explained why I was to stay away from others who worked with me. But they could not keep those chained forever. I learned that I was a slave, forced to work for the cruel Dynasties so they could live luxurious lives. I wished to burn beneath Syna's gaze, to free myself from this world. I spat curses at Leth himself, hating how he had hurled me into this hellish existence.

"I do not want to endure this."

Note for the modsVespa only THINKS her necklace is a gift from Laviku. It's really just something that happened to get caught around her neck. Nothing truly related to the gods.
