Moderated Threads

Ok, So I've spent ages trying to find information about Moderated Quests in the lore section but I'm still confused as to what exactly the moderated threads would be about and also, is it possible to earn character death in moderated threads?

Moderated threads are mainly doing about things you can't self mod such as Gnosis, mod-only locations, and interacting with mod only NPCs. and yes, it is possible to die there, but personally, I will only kill a PC if they do something really and obviously stupid.
