Physical Description

Ysgraam Halverran stands at a stout 5'' 8' and weighs 175lbs. He has long, fine, white hair, as well as a well-kept full beard. He has the bluest of eyes that seem to pierce through any he gazes upon and bushy eyebrows. He has a soft, caring face, and a deep scar that runs diagonally down his left cheek and ends before the corner of his mouth due to a recent fight with bandits while traveling. He has broad shoulders and stands with pride before all.


Character Concept

Ysgraam has a very caring and kind personality, and behind that lies a passion to teach and guide all who may need it. He is rather shy and only speaks if spoken to, out of courtesy. He tends to work best in the company of others; however, communication must be maintained in order to keep him working at his fullest, otherwise he retreats from societal contact and remains withdrawn. He fully respects and follows any laws placed over him, and will not tolerate any who do wrong. He is rather frightful of the world around him, often running at the slightest hint of danger. Being a scholar in his youth, he'd never tried to advance his combat skills. He tries to remain pure by never drinking and giving charity to those in need.


Character History
Ysgraam was born to a lower middle-class family that lived in Riverfall. His father always tried to keep a job, and his mother would be out on the streets begging, and the income got them all through the month.As a child, he never had a chance to make friends, due in part to the introverted personality that he was constantly developing and the fact that he was generally a withdrawn and antisocial person. It wasn't until his father died at age ten that his mother decided to settle down and actually get a job in Riverfall, seeing as how she was now the adult in the house, and how begging would not feed the both of them. It was then he began to take an interest in all things psychological and scientific. From age fifteen to eighteen, he began his own stuides on the subjects, often following people and studying their behavioral patterns, as well as examining the vegitation and the inner-workings of the biological structure of the world in which he lived. He was so consumed by his studies that he became extremely socially withdrawn and awkward. At age 22, while still living with his mother, he began compiling a book containing all of his notes on the human psyche. It was at this time that he began to realize his mother was suffering from alcoholism and depression, and he tried to help her as best he could. He gradually withdrew her from the poison over the course of a few months, and with this, he could see her mood improving exponentially. All was going well, until she failed to come home after going out to the market. It was well past midnight when he went out to search for his mother. Thinking he wouldn't be out for too long, he left nearly all he owned at his humble abode. Despite countless hours of searching, he failed to find his mother, and, still to this day, he curses himself for not being able to find her that night. He began to walk back home when, in the sky, he saw a cloud of black smoke trailing on the wind. He began to run towards the scene along with the throngs of plebeians doing so as well, but stopped in shock, as before him lay the smoldering ruins of his home. All his work and nearly all of his possessions were destroyed by a fire; the cause of which is still unknown. After this, he fell into a deep, dark depression, and made several unsuccessful suicide attempts, seeing as how he had no reason left to live- no home, no parents, no friends. He often sat on the streets, begging for food, as that was his only source of a meal. However, at age 36, he picked his life back up, restarted his studies, far surpassing his previous level, and began to write books and give them out to commoners in exchange for food. He began to drift away from science and moved deeper into psychology and philosophy, taking them both to heart. He began mentoring individuals who needed it around age 40, once they had asked him. Being relatively wise, his words served those under his wing well, and all have thanked him so and have repaid him. After having gone through such emotional emptiness and redemption, he uses his knowledge and prowess in the subjects of self-study to help others whenever possible today.
