Nilika kicked her legs as she swam down into the depths of the ocean. She was starting to get comfortable with the water around the Syliras area, but it still unnerved her to go too deep into it. The darkness in the ocean started to get a little dark and that’s where she stopped. How she longed to go deeper, but so far this was a triumph for her. She’s been coming to the docks almost every day since the snow started to clear and little by little she’s been swimming further into the depths of the sea. Oh how the darkness teased her. Doing a quick backflip, she moved herself up towards the surface. The cool morning air hit her face and blue ocean eyes looked through wet bangs around at the docks.

Some of the sailors where loading or taking cargo on or off to their ships; others were chattering about the sea life and the things they have experienced. The young Konti lay on her back and looked up at the fluffy white clouds. Her hair was spread out on top of the surface. It was one of those rare moments she let it down. She forgot to get another thing of undergarments. Looks like I got to wait until these dry, she thought bitterly. Now that she thought about it, there wasn’t anything to do today. She didn’t have work due to not a lot of people coming in for injuries. It was going to be a rather boring day.

The teenager dived into the water again watched a group of fish swim by. She let out a light giggle as one of them grazed her nose. Nilika twirled and flipped in the water; she felt so weightless and free. Maybe she could create a dance could only be done in water. Deciding to go up again, the girl noticed a dog sniffing at the water near the dock. Maybe today wouldn’t be so boring. A cat like grin morphed onto her face; slowly she made her way towards the docks.

OOCIs the date okay for you?

[The Great Harbor] Land Meets Water (Shane)

It had been some weeks since he had met that Squire down by the docks and he'd made sure that the Docks were on his dog-walking route every single day. Even in the early morning which is why Shane found himself walking Norman down by the waterside. He didn't bother keeping Norman on the leash in the morning because there usually weren't many people around. It was starting to look like she wasn't here again. Perhaps he had done something in the final moments of their meeting that had warranted her avoiding him. Frankly, if she didn't want to see him than Shane wasn't going to press the issue. Frankly the girl had looked as though she could take Shane out without even needing the assistance of her Squire and Knightly fellows.

It was just then as he was walking that he noticed what at first he thought to be a very odd-looking fish. Then it occurred to him that it was not an odd looking fish but rather an oddlooking person. After all he had never met a fish with blonde hair before. Oblivious to whatever kind of thing she or it was up to Shane, who felt in too peculiar a mood to do or say otherwise, simply said “Hello.” while trying to recall exactly what races resembled fish. The list, thankfully, was short.

OOCI know this is a really sucky post but I was kinda struggling with it. Thought it better to just post a rubbish post and get the story flowing then hold it up until I came up with something better.

Scaled legs kicked through the water, approaching the dock quickly. The Konti was hoping to splash the black dog. It’s not like she was going to hurt it, a little splash here and there then back into the water for here. Nilika stopped momentarily and looked at the person who spoke to her. She looked toward the dog then back at the human. Her plan was ruined right before it even commenced! The teenager was highly mad at the outcome of it. With a sigh she looked back up at the man and gave a weak smile, “Oh hello there stranger.”

She decided to mess with the boy a little bit for ruining her plan; she grabbed hold the edge of the dock and lifted herself on top of it. The water ran down from her hair to her toes. The feeling of the cool air breezing by her made her jump a little. The Konti pulled her hair away from her eyes and tossed it over her shoulder. She sat next to the dog and scratched behind his ear. He was a cute dog indeed; his black hair made Nilika’s webbed hands look pale. “Is he yours,” asked almost like an afterthought forgetting the stranger was there. “Oh yes, my apologizes; my name is Nilika. I mean Nilika,” she smiled a little in his direction.

The strange girl seemed a bit upset when she responded to him. Perhaps she had wished to be alone. She then proceeded to climb up onto the dock giving Shane his first proper look at the girl. Her immodesty at first made him blush but then he noticed the shimmering scales on her forehead and, as she petted Norman, her webbed hands.

Shane took an unconscious step forward. He'd heard of these blond woman with the scales and webbed hands and feed. He couldn't recall a name but one of them was married to, or related to, or was, a Knight. He only heard this and that and frankly if ever he broke Rule #4.5 it was with the Knights. He couldn't drag himself to bother with the militant order's affairs.

"Oh, yes." Shane replied mistaking the question of ownership had been directed to him. "He's called Norman." Shane told the girl. Hmmm, two girls in so many weeks. Men always passed by him when he was walking the dog but a lot of girls tended to stop and clap Norman. What an odd coincedence...

"Pleased to meet you, Nilika." Shane replied upon hearing her name. "I'm Shane. I'm sorry if I am bothering your swim. Norman and I were just out for our morning walk. He loves the waterside." Shane was charmingly pleasant this morning or so he thought at least. It was nice to meet new people. They were such founts of information...

The Konti twitched in response to his step forward. She was wary of the boy. Even though he looked young, didn’t mean he was dangerous. That was something she had learned so long ago. Her ear perked up in concentration to hear if he was going to come forward even more. He didn’t seem to come any further and the teenager relaxed slowly before zoning in on what the stranger was saying. Nilika smiled at the dog’s name. “Norman,” she said quietly as she looked at the black dog. His coat was glossy and smooth underneath the palm of her hands. She rubbed her hand through the fur. It was an okay name for a do, but nonetheless she wasn’t going to judge the stranger.

She stood to look at the newly acquired person more carefully. He had what looked to be black hair and blue eyes. Perhaps he was human? She started at him trying to figure out what race he was. It was interesting to guess which race was which. There were time where she could guess and get it right, other times it was a horrible failed attempt. Looking at him, Nilika conclude that he was either a human or Kelvic. At least that’s what her observations had told her. So his name is Shane? A smile slowly tipped her lips a little. It was amusing how everyone’s names sounded…unique to her. “Well then Shane it’s a pleasure to meet you,” she said reaching out a hand offering him to shake it.
