Ursala Appearance Race: Kelvic (Marsican brown bear) Gender: Female Age: Five years Birthday: 78th of Winter, 508 AV Birthplace: Nyka Appearance: As a Human Ursala isn't the tallest of humans, nor is she the shortest. She stands five feet and six inches, weighing about one hundred and twenty-seven pounds. Two dark brown crystals set into her skull give her an oriental appearance, and between them is a long nose. Below the tip of her nose are a pair of full lips, pale pink like a carnation. Her light brown hair is cut short in a vain attempt to control the mass of curls that settle upon her head. As a Bear Ursala, like in human form, isn't the largest of her kind. At only five feet long and weighing just barely four hundred and twenty pounds, one might say she is underweight. Her oriental appearance carries over, and as a bear one could even call her 'cute'. Character Concept Ursala is an unusually aggressive Kelvic, especially when it comes to anything physical. She hates restraints and will literally snap at those who come close to touching her. Even while in human form her bite is dangerous to those who draw near, as well as her long nails. Character History Ursala was born to a Kelvic pair in Nyka, her parents being bonded to the same person. Her mother was a docile deer, her father a bat. At first the couple were troubled by their daughter's hostility, but then they realized that she was, in fact, a bear. The couple's bondmate, while not particularly evil, had fallen upon hard times and decided to separate the child from them. The bondmate sold Ursala to The Post in Nyka, her disrespectful attitude and bellicose ways landed her a spot in one of the cells that were erected for those like her. After a long while of uncooperativeness from the bear, the slave master finally gave in to selling her to Ravok -- but not before teaching her something. He knew that in order to be of worth, slaves had to know something. Being as aggressive as she was, Hadra thought that she would be a good bodyguard. He set her up with a instructor, one used to dealing with stubborn people. This instructor taught her how to fight effectively, how to disable someone stronger or quicker than her, and how to keep someone still. When she had been trained enough in Hadra's eyes, he shipped her off to Ravok. It was about halfway to the city that Ursala realized they had made a mistake: She wasn't collared. She could still escape. The bear formulated a plan, escaping that night. Ursala had silenced the watch temporarily, feigning sleep in order to take him by surprise and by that gain an advantage. She shifted for one of the first times in her life, running into the Wildlands and releasing a victorious roar that woke the rest of the camp. She didn't stop until her muscles begged for her to, and slowed near a small stream. Deciding that this was a good place to live for a little bit, she laid down and slept the remaining hours of darkness away. On the eve of the spring 514 AV, after a hard autumn that kept her from getting properly fattened before hibernating, Ursala stumbled upon Ravok's shores. She was attempting to catch fish when slavers noticed something peculiar about the bear's behaviour. The beast couldn't fish. A bear of her age should know how to fish. Unless they weren't taught or shown by their mother. When the creature suddenly burst into flakes of light and became human, they set off in silent pursuit of her. Ursala didn't even know what was happening until the net fell over her. She screamed, struggle, didn't even think of shifting, but to no avail. Her combat skills had worn down to almost nothing over the years. The slavers hit her over the head and darkness consumed her consciousness. She was finally in Ravok.
