15th Day of Spring 514 AV

It was another day in Ravoc where apparently the wind was of more importance to the weather than what people perceived to be as Spring. At the very least it wasn't as bad as the day before when Rie had actually arrived.

Today the girl was dressed in practically the same thing as the day before. She was wearing a felt coat over a white tunic and black leggings. She had strapped the flametongue she had bought a while ago onto her belt and kept some of her tools for thievery in her boots. Those were about her only addition to her outfit. The thing she had lost was most definitely her monkey whom she had kept with her horse.

Wandering about the docks, Rie looked around for any big crowds of people. There was just about none really. Sighing, she decided to sit on a chair by herself. Absolutely boring. She'd have to wait a bit before the crowds really started to come.

A few minutes later, Rie decided that sitting on a bench was reaaalllly boring. She was basically doing nothing. Well she was doing nothing. Swinging her feet up and down, she hunched over and gazed at the floor. Bored.

Well she could examine her things more while she waited for no particular reason. Firmly sticking her feet in the ground, Rie sat up again and let her fingers undo the buttons on her coat. Grabbing the flametongue, she decided to observe it discreetly.

If she wanted to know how to use something, she thought it would be better for her to understand how it was structured. It was extremely wavy in it's design. It wasn't anything particularly special as far as she was concerned but then again, what did she know about weapons? Nothing. She could answer that for herself.

Slipping the dagger inside her belt again, she leaned into her chair and this time, decided to observe the minimal people walked around.

"You look bored," a voice suddenly said, materialising right beside her. Rie didn't bother to hide her annoyance.

"And here I thought you disappeared," she grumbled, refusing to look at the ghost whom she thought was stalking her.

"Why would I? I'm your personal stalker right?" he said, a smirk growing on his face. Rie let a smirk grow on her own face.

"Personal torturer. Although I guess stalker describes you too," she corrected, internally thinking that sometimes it was as if the ghost could read her mind.

"What do you think those people are saying over there?" she asked the ghost seeing that she might as well make good use of the nuisance.

As Cain looked over to where her finger was pointing, he shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know," he said, a grin slowly working it's way onto his face "Buuut, I can find out!" and with that, he was off. Invisible to everyone's eyes.

"Wait!" she called, grabbing after him to no avail.

"Stupid ghost," she muttered underneath her breath but soon all useless thoughts about the ghost was gone. There was a crowd. Rie allowed a smile to cross her face.

Lovely.

Picking herself off the bench, she strided directly into the crowd and immediately got busy.

Tricky Business (Russell)

Russell found himself at the docks once more, this place seemed to be a place where a lot of people gathered. Now he wasn't currently looking to make new friends at the moment, that sort of thing didn't suit him all too much. No, his current mission was to entertain himself, and maybe find a few people of interest.

One thing that was beginning to annoy Russell about this city, was the lack of walkways. While the dock was better off than most of the city, it was still something that annoyed him a great deal. It wasted too much time, and as the old saying goes time is money.

He was currently sitting with a mug of ale in hand, outside of his new favorite place in the city. The silver silver tavern, he could see a good deal here, and find all sorts of people this way. Now what was going on today.

Russell could see a crowd building for one reason or another, this wasn't that strange of an occurrence, and so he decided to ignore it. He took a sip from his mug, and placed it down on the table.

One thing he liked about this place was that no-one seemed to bother him. Maybe he had developed a bit of a reputation as a loner, or maybe he just gave off an unfriendly air? Russell could always think on it later.

One thing that did catch his eye was the number of people who were joining the new crowd. Maybe there was a sale on?

Russell drank the rest of his ale, and decided to stand up. It was time to see what this commotion was about. He might even find himself having a bit of fun.

Russell walked toward the crowd at a casual pace, the ever growing noise of the waking city hardly seemed to bother him. He did grow up in Syliras after all, not that he'd tell anyone that. He made his way into the crowd, and did his best not to bump into people, he made sure to hold onto both his money and dagger, this wasn't a place he'd like to lose his stuff in.

# of Spring 514 AV

Rie's hands were everywhere. She was a thief and she definitely knew how to pick pockets. She knew her escape routes and although she decided to overlook knowing her environment extremely well that time, she knew crowds. And within crowds, there were generally too many people for her to become caught. She knew to an outsider's eye, she would look like she was running and trying to push her way stupidly into the crowd which of course, what she was trying to achieve.

Slipping a hand into someone's pocket as she bumped into a man, she hide grin as she deftly fished out a bunch of mizas and put them in her own pocket as looked astonished up at him muttering a quick sorry before scrabbling away and bumping into another person and stealing a bunch of his mizas.

Not every pocket she went to had mizas much to her disappointment but she thanked her lucky stars that she managed to actually pick something of value. Whirling away to another man, she gazed up at him gasping a quick sorry as she attempted another act of thievery. Alas, it was unfortunate that he was empty of mizas.

Turning away from him, Rie was about to go off when she spotted a glint of metal. A dagger perhaps? That should be of some worth. Whipping back around as if to ask a question, she was suddenly hit from behind by some person rushing through the crowd and stumbled onto her target.

Talk about perfect timing.

"Sorry again!" she stuttered, slipping her hands towards the dagger as she tried to pry it from his hands.

Tricky Business (Russell)

Postby Russell Wood on April 9th, 2014, 7:56 am

Russell found himself moving in and out of the crowd here and again. The people pushing each other didn't help. Couldn't people learn not to do stuff like this? Or was it that all semblance of thought just vanishes when people come together within a crowd. Whatever it was, it still didn't change Russell's mind about hating this situation. Curiosity really did kill the cat, or rather any small amount of patients Russell had.

The crowd was beginning to lighten up, and Russell was still glad that he had all of his things on him. Him holding it was probably the part that helped, but even then, he was sure that a harder push could make him lose his stuff. But thanks to his luck, someone was pushed onto him.

"It's no problem." But then that's when he felt the slight tug on his dagger. Had his grip been stronger he might have been able to continue to hold it. Sadly it wasn't, the expression on his face went stone hard, he was really angry now.

15th Day of Spring 514 AV

Rie smirked inwardly as the dagger came free from the man's hands. That was way too easy. She deftly slipped the stolen item in her coat unnoticeable and stole away to the edge, her feet a blur and barely making any noise against the stone covered ground. Second day in Ravoc and already things were looking bright. As sunny as Syna's light. That would be a good comparison. Although that wasn't to say her first day was absolutely terrible though.

Her lungs took in a bountiful of air as she resumed leaning against a wall of a building. One thing in particular that stood out to her in the crowd she just kindly departed was an exceptionally angry man looking as if he could pummel the ground and disperse it into a million pieces.

If she wasn't so nice as to recall who the man was, she would have dismissed him as some random stranger whose mother had told them they weren't allowed to visit their best friend in like Nyka. But as she was so nice as to recall who that particular man was, she recognised him as the person she had stole the dagger from.

That important huh? Well if he did come storming after her in a hissy fit, she'd be more than happy to give it back...of course not without some compensation.

Tricky Business (Russell)

Russell wasn’t just angry at the minute, the man was furious. He had caught a good glimpse of the person who had attempted and succeeded at stealing from him. If there was one thing he was sure of, it would be that she would certainly pay. Russell looked around the area and could only catch sight of her from behind, yet he couldn’t be too sure that it was her. The urge to kill the woman was there, but instead of acting on it. He decided to calm himself and think of it from a calmer point of view. A few deep breaths were all he needed before walking toward the area he thought the woman had run to.

She was good, he had to admit that much, he didn’t even see her coming and he liked to describe himself as a somewhat observant person. Russell couldn’t help but find that she could somehow help him out in some-way. He did find himself with a well paying job recently, and was sure that he’d have money to spare, now it just came down to having this woman play right into his hands, or so he hoped. Whether he decided to play it out slowly or whether to coerce her with rougher means was something that he still had to contemplate.

Russell found himself close enough to the woman and decided to disperse the atmosphere a little by laughing out rather loudly, the crowd long past him. Unknown to the woman he sent out an emotional response of calming. It was a rather subtle thing, and he hoped that it would set out the stage for something he could consider a friendly conversation. ”That was pretty well done, I almost missed you completely. But could I please have my dagger back.” Russell decided that using the slow approach would be the best, make this person feel a little more comfortable.”I should give it back” Russell brought in a bit of suggestion. It was once again something that he hoped would set a good atmosphere; he wanted his words to do the talking so to say.

”Ah, where are my manners, my name is Russell Wood, and what would your name be miss?” Russell said, he had his wallet tucked away safely within his trouser pocket. Russell made sure to put on a rather friendly smile. ”How about after you bring by dagger back I take you out for a meal? Just as friends, I don’t think it can hurt.” Once more he followed this up with a suggestion. ”This guy seems pretty nice.” Russell could feel the strain setting in already, his vision was beginning to blur a tad bit, he’d have to cut it out for the time being.
