Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

It was all anyone talked about, and she had no clue of what it was. A masquerade, which seemed like a big Social event had struck Orabelle as interesting. She couldn't help but become just a bit excited about this very day. It would be a great opportunity for her to make friends and dance! The svefran wasn't the greatest dancer, but she loved to sway and twirl with the music. Ah, yes this ball will be lots of fun and she couldn't wait.

She approached the Red Diamond Fashions making a mental note of what she wanted. She wore her colorful red and blue dress which didn't frame her body at all. Her hair was braided to her right side and instead of dying it with henna, she just weaved in so false hair with that exact dye.

Orabelle didn't come for just a dress to wear to the ball, she wanted to have a whole shopping spree. As soon as she walked in she spotted her favorite colors. Red, Blue and purple. A smile was instantly planted on her face. Walking towards the women section, she began to get a better look of the clothes."I have the perfect shade of blue eye shadows for this, and a specific blush for this." She began pointing out clothes and calling out what she had.

"Oh, oops." Orabelle realized she spent no time looking around for Rosela."Hello!" She yelled."Rosela?"

Though the ball was not until much later in the season, it just so happened Rosela was working on her Masquerade line that day. She had a few dresses out already, but more always needed made. Pages of designs littered her front desk, with various notations in Arumenic as to design elements that she couldn’t fit into the drawing. At the moment, she was leaned over her desk, two pages held up in different hands, while another hand slowly drew the lines of another design in front of her.

She wanted to combine elements from two other designs in this third, and wanted to make sure she drew them similarly to remind herself when she went to make them. The design in progress was a flouncy, ruffly affair in icy blue with a halo of arrows around it, indicating where sequins were to go. Dark gray pencil in hand, she slowly drew the long, sloping line of the left side, stopping short of the feet. She’d made only a few designs with trains, hoping not to fill the ballroom with them and make everyone’s night difficult. Her own dress would have a train, at least in the vague image she had of it in her head, but as designer, she was clearly allowed to get away with it.

With a series of quick jerks of the pencil, she added a pillow of squiggles at the left hip and wrote ‘Seq.’ in Arumenic next to it. Humming thoughtfully as she sat up and pushed on her back to stretch, she had the sudden thought that she may not have any white sequins left. Anxiety rose immediately, with so many of her designs counting on them, and with a quick look around the empty floor, she slid out of her chair and dashed to the back.

’Customer…’ The shadows whispered the moment she reached her back work table, and Rosela swore under her breath. Just her luck…

Mission for the sequins abandoned, she trotted back to the front door just in time to hear her name called. Clearing her throat, she put on her professional face and smiled as she pushed back through the door. ”Hi, welcome to Red Diamond Fashions. Sorry about that, I just ran to the back for a moment. Oh, Orabelle!” Smile relaxing into a more natural one, she moved to lean on the shelf next to the woman. Rosela liked her a great deal – she was one of the few other women in the city who seemed to truly appreciate fashion. ”What can I do for you today?”

OOCI’m going to assume they’ve met, but haven’t finalized the makeup deal yet. We can either talk about it this thread, or end with the note of ‘Hmm, I should come back and talk to her about that…’

She was still going through the items, mentally thinking of what she's capable of doing with half of the dresses she thought were just divine. They almost looked like styles Orabelle's mother would wear, except not every dress was made of gold silk. If it weren't for the ephyrian woman, Orabelle wouldn't think of pursuing skills in makeup and hair. After rejecting the already paid enrolling in to the University, her mother had effortlessly suggested that Orabelle would learn the business of cosmetologist.

Rosela's soothing voice soon hit Orabelle who was quick to turn around. She instantly smiled too. Six beautifully long and perfectly tone arms, long dark hair and like always a very lovely outfit. If there was anyone Orabelle wished to be, it would be Rosela. She had style, taste and never failed to look her best.

"Hello Rosela." Orabelle paused to hug her."How are you?" She asked compassionately.

After Rosela was done speaking, she didn't hesitate to tell her why she came."Okay, so I know it's a bit early but I just can't wait." Her fratavan accent grew thick."So I know you heard of the masquerade ball, this is actually my first time hearing of it, and I planned on coming in and buying a dress." She pulled out a dress she found was interesting." And maybe a whole new wardrobe?" Orabelle laughed.

Without moving, Orabelle searched the room."I honestly just might buy the whole store. My mind is completely going nuts. I have so many hair stylings and shades of lip pomade to go with almost anything in this room." She spun around until she was facing Rosela again.

OOCI think it would be nice to finalize the deal in this particular thread :)

Leaning forward, Rosela embraced the young woman with all six arms in a brief, friendly hug. "I'm well, thank you. Busy as ever." She gave an exaggerated mock-sigh, flipping a lock of her hair behind her shoulder. "And yourself? Here for a new outfit?"

She leaned against the shelf next to her, two arms folding unconsciously as she listened. The dark haired woman fluttered about the clothing like a butterfly, and Rosela couldn't hold back a smile as she spoke of the masquerade later in the season. "I'm so excited for it, you have no idea. I just wish I could make the masks myself - the business for dresses alone will be fantastic. You weren't here for Beautyfest, were you? Now that was a party."

The businesswoman in her did a small dance, as hearing the words 'a whole new wardrobe' from anyone meant a great deal of business. While she usually had to hold hands and walk people through such large purchases, she suspected Orabelle already had things in mind.

"How about we start with the dress, and work our way up from there? Did you have a style in mind already? I think sequins and sparkles are going to be very in this year..." Moving next to Orabelle, she pulled out a silver and lavender dress with a sequined bust, only to push it back in, muttering, "No, not your color... Lip pomade? I only have the one shade-" One hand fluttered next to her face by way of indication. "But I suppose I should try to match... I just worry about going too bold, you know?"

She fold her arms as she answered."I'm great! Been feeling good. Wonderful actually. Maybe just an outfit. Maybe I want more." She put a lot of emphasis on just. She already couldn't make up her mind on what to buy. Most likely she'll buy two of each in this store. Two different colors of shirts, two different color pants, and two different color dress. That would be enough for this and next season.

"I would definitely buy your masks. The dresses alone are just gorgeous! I can't imagine how creative you would get with the mask." She continue searching through everything, already she found a tasteful dress. A lovely silk red that was just perfect. But it wasn't white which was what she was looking for. The dress was beautiful! She couldn't give it up and decided to hold on to it.

She had to restrain herself from going all out like she wants too. If the young woman had all the money in the world, she wouldn't even think twice. If she wanted, she would buy it. Sadly, she didn't have all the money in the world and had to limit herself.

"Ok," she held on to the dress,"a style? Hmm... is sexy and seductive a style?" She was kind of joking but at the same time she wasn't. Although she felt a little skittish about relationships, Orabelle wanted to catch someone's eye. Wide eyed, Orabelle watched Rosela pull out a silver and lavender dress. It was very pretty but not really what she was looking for."No not really. I mean I believe I have a shade but..." She listened to Rosela talk about her one shade of lip pomade."I understand but you can never go too bold. You should match you makeup and outfits. Makeup is like another accessory for your face. Lip pomade is definitely important, so match it up!

”Ugh,” Rosela sighed dramatically. ”I’m sorry to say, I’m not actually doing any masks off the shelf. I’ve been telling people I can do them as a custom order but…it was just too much. Between inventory and now custom dresses, I didn’t have the time to learn a whole new trade. I actually did make a couple designs, but I went down to that little mask shop in Zhongjie? The one who’s setting up a table actually at the ball? Way better than mine.” She shrugged disappointedly. ”Better not at all than a mediocre product. Tell you what though,” One finger waved for emphasis. ”I’m checking out what’s going on this year, and next year, it’s mine.”

Continuing to flip through dresses, she paused as Orabelle picked out one. ”Ooh, very bold. I wish I could do more with red, but these Kontis just can’t wear it. One time, it had to have been right after the season change, this Konti comes in looking for scarves. She heads right for the only bright, bright red one I have on the shelf. Gods above, all that pale skin on red? It looked like she as hemorrhaging from the neck. I managed to talk her down to a nice coral, thank goodness.” As if on cue, a coral dress came up next in the stack, and she paused to look at it. It wasn’t bad, but seemed too tame for Orabelle’s tastes.

”Accessories for your face…” She repeated slowly, releasing the dresses, and tilting her head in thought. ”I’ve never thought of it that way.” One hand absently cupped her chin as she realized Orabelle had a completely different way of thinking about her makeup. Rosela would maybe alter the color of her eyeshadow to better match an outfit, but more than that? She may as well be changing her nose to better match her purse. Still, it definitely bore looking into, and she made a mental note to pay better attention to the lip colors in her makeup kit when she had some time to experiment.

”I’ve always wanted to sell makeup,” she mused aloud. ”It’s like masks though, I just don’t have time to learn the trade right now. Hm, here’s one?” Finally finding a nice white dress, she pulled it out of the stack and unfolded it for Orabelle to see. It was fairly simple, strapless with a sequined bust and a small black belt that let the dress fall in waves to the floor. ”What do you think?”

"Oh,"Orabelle sighed too,"that's quite alright, these tasteful designs can be worn without a mask, anyway." She told her. She wished Rosela did make mask. You could tell the eypharian had a lot of creativity, and wonderful taste."I think your mask would be a lot better. You have creativity, you knows what the people want." She raised her eyebrows at her."You have potential." Orabelle tried to encourage her. She believed in Rosela, no matter what, she believe the woman could do anything, especially if it involves fashion. Rosela could -and she maybe already started one- a trend, because not only was she beautiful, but she was also charming. People would follow her every word, especially if it was on fashion."What is that?" Orabelle asked with a curious expression.

Orabelle couldn't help but laugh as they went through the dress. Rosela proved her point." Glad you talked her out if it. I bet she was grateful for your help." She took her eyes off the dresses and looked in the direction of the shop owner."I sometime feel bad for the pale women. The konti are such beautiful people, I envy them, but they're so pale that it is so hard to do anything with their clothes and makeup if they need it,"she paused,"Well, makeup shouldn't be a problem. When I think of konti, I think of colors of the sea." She went through the colors in her head." Like... maybe a sea green eyeshadow, with a hint of a seafoam blue to top it off." She looked away thoughtfully as she spoke." Sand-colored highlights?" When she pulled out the coral dress, Orabelle couldn't help but aw. It was beautiful, and an attention catcher. But her body was sadly not meant for it, so she sadly turned it down.

"Yeah, kind of crazy for me to think like that but... hey, I'm just a weird person." She shrugged it off and laugh."Although accessories like gold necklaces and diamonds would look so nice if they were formed into some kind of accessory for your face." The idea was so crazy and probably unrealistic. Only someone like Orabelle would think such a thing was cool. Diamond freckles? Gold chained eyebrows? She was sadly be interested in decorating someone's face with stuff like that."But that's just silly old me..." She hummed a little as she gazed at certain dresses away from her.

"I've always wanted to make my own makeup. I really want to improve foundation. Make it resistant to water, and other thing." She agreed with Rosela in a silent way."I believe I have too much time. I would so put in the time and effort to- oh." Orabelle's eyes bounced right back into Rosela's direction. The dress was so perfect. The effortless wave and simple belt, made the dress look so... unique."Oh my gods." She reached out to touch the dress."What do I think? It's beautiful! I swear, if I wear this dress, it'll outshine me."

Rosela grinned widely at the woman next to her, warmed by her confidence in her abilities. ”Next year, next year…” She sighed in a sing-song voice.

She hummed in thought at Orabelle’s musings on Konti looks. Her flair for fashion was undeniable, and though a part of Rosela worried at such competition for Riverfall’s Best Dressed, she hoped Orabelle would find an occupation that allowed her to express her great taste.

”Hm, diamonds and gold as face accessories…” As Orabelle seemed to be doing, Rosela also considered the merits of such an idea, though her thoughts strayed more towards gold filigree veils and jewel-encrusted headbands. She still felt it difficult to imagine makeup too far out of the daily routine she had for herself. ”Everyone thinks visionaries are silly,” Rosela raised an eyebrow sardonically. ”Until they come out to be right. Why not go with your ideas? I think you’d be really great at doing makeup. Akajia knows, there’s plenty of faces in this city who could use it…” A free hand waved vaguely at the windows behind them as two other hands smoothed out the dress she held up.

She almost didn’t want Orabelle to like the dress, so they could continue chatting on forever, but she had to agree that it would look lovely on her. An indelicate snort escaped at the woman’s assessment of herself, and Rosela promptly handed over the dress for closer inspection. ”You are way too pretty to be outshone by a dress, so don’t even think that. Just go with what you want!” She snapped her fingers in a moment of connection. ”Like makeup! Why don’t you start your own makeup business? I really do think you’d be a huge success.”
