A Favor Owed (Rend)

Postby Buras on April 20th, 2014, 10:33 pm

"Byu-raas can fight." Buras heard Rend in the darkness.

"Thank you." he said. Relief that she was fine, or at least could recover, was in those words. "Now," Buras continues, "I would like out of here. If you could just point to the exit, I'll clear it out, and leave."

While he was saying this, Buras was slowly crawling his way towards Rend's voice. He stuck his hand in something that was wet and smelled awful, and decided that this was what made that splashing sound he heard before Rend spoke.

Somewhere in between 'like out of.' and 'If you could', Buras reached her. Getting an arm around her, which took a while in the dark, and an arm over his shoulder, Buras lifted Rend up. After staggering a little, she was heavier then he thought, Buras stood in the darkness, waiting for her to tell him where to go.

OOCYou can assume Buras moves where you tell him for your next post.

A Favor Owed (Rend)

Postby Rend on April 20th, 2014, 10:51 pm

Rend makes an attempt at protesting being picked up that is so feeble it is likely less ignored and more unheard. She felt his arm slide around her as he helped her onto unsteady feet and, in her haze, felt no desire to protest this. The arm closest to Byu-Raas felt odd, as if lifted and out of place, but she simply relied on the other to vaguely gesture in the dark instead while she staggered forward, greedily taking the support that was offered.

In a few shuffling paces they were at the impromptu wall and rend grasped part of it. With a hiss, a heavy and a snapping of some piece of supporting wood the tarp fell aside. A cold, sharp wind rushed in on the heels of the crisp, bright light. Rend's eyes narrowed against it, shutting out what they could.

"I'll rest here for now. Byu-Raas is free to go" Rend looked aside for a moment, as if studying a piece of the cave floor that was new to her "Keep the favor".

A Favor Owed (Rend)

Postby Buras on April 20th, 2014, 11:11 pm

Buras stood blinking in the light, he couldn't believe how easy it was. He thought he would have to tear it down a rock at a time. But there was only tarp covering the opening, and Rend was able to tear that down.

"Keep the favor"

Buras turned his head towards her, staying and resting, he expected, but keepin the favor? That was unexpected

"No, Rend, you have repayed your favor. If anything, I now owe you one. Don't argue with me about this, I do what I think is right. I live in the tent city. Find me, and I will repay that favor. Or, we can meet somewhere else, it is your favor, not mine."

And with that, Buras left. He fingered the holes in his shirt and coat, and looked at the scratches he got. 'Meh, just a scratch. And how hard can it be to fix a whole or two?' He also looked at the smaller, less noticeable scratches on his quarterstaff, he appreciated how strong the wood was. It survived a furious zith, so whats to say it can't take a sword or axe from a human. Besides ,it gives it some character.

OOCExit Buras.

A Favor Owed (Rend)

Postby Rend on April 20th, 2014, 11:24 pm

Rend stood in the cave mouth and watched Byu-Raas leave, his last words left her confused 'He said no yet he keeps it, my favor, my token. He says he owes me one but doesn't give it... Tent city, maybe I'm supposed to get it there.' Rend's mind struggled to grip onto the ideas firmly, her shoulder ached where the stick had hit it and was starting to swell, that would make flying difficult for a day or two. Her head was still swimming after the knock against the floor and she could feel the welt across her chest starting to rise. With a sigh she gingerly picked up the discarded tarp and dragged it with her as she staggered to her nest, fell into it and dragged the tarp over her to sleep.
