Evalin sat on the bed, her legs crossed while her staff lay across her knees. Her eyes were closed, quiet and pondering, her mind a buzz, stirring with soft musings, dis-shuffled thoughts that warred with one another. On the bed before her lay Tsenrika in his sealed form, an onlooker this time, quiet and observant, and even he could not pierce the veil of Evalin's mind to begin to guess her thoughts.
Thoughts so unusual... plague my master. Her soul feels strange this day, something troubles you...? His voice cold, distant, probing but not in a way that sounded as though he truly cared.
Evalin slowly opened her eyes to look at the pendent, her eyes lingering for just a moment before falling on her staff. Her fingers played across the intricate designs, I falter with myself this day... A decision I have to make. One that I am growing more certain I wish to make.
She could feel the Familiar's suspicions bubbling from beneath the icy exterior of his mind, And what... decision is this my Master?
Evalin glanced up at the gem, her mouth slowly opening, but then closed again as she heard someone enter the cavern. Standing quickly Evalin scooped up the gem, placing it around her neck and wander out to greet the one she knew to be there.
The Nuit smiled and bowed her head, "Welcome Mistress, I am glad that you have come back. I... I have something I wish to discuss with you."
What was your decision... Tsenrika urged, pressing against Evalin's mind, but the nuit ignored it, focusing her gaze on Aka, "I have something I wish... to show you. A secret of sorts, something precious to me..."
She felt the spike of irritation, frustration and anger from the Familiar even before his words nearly split her skull in two, NO! Evalin, do not be a fool! Stop this now, or you lose everything!
Evalin wiped the slightly pained expression from her features, setting up the walls of her mind to block out the words of Tsenrika, looking at Aka intently as the Irylids voice became distant, "If my Mistress is willing, I will show you my greatest secret... be greatest pride..."
