Character ConceptAeren has a dark character, and does not like to talk too much. He is kind to those who show him kindness but brutally cruel the ones that try to get in his way. He is not a welldoer, rather he shows himself indifferent to the things that do not concern him, nevertherless he is able to go out of his way to aid a helpless or sick kid or old man, as his doctor's pride dictates him to.
Character HistoryAeren grew up as the son of a miner, and as such started to work on a mine from a young age. By the time he knew his numbers up to 10, he also knew how to properly use a pickaxe, find iron in the dark depths of the mine walls and could carry a bag of rocks almost as heavy as him. But he did not want to be a miner forever, no, when he was age 8, when saw the city doctor, Veras, heal his sick sister he knew that he wanted to help others, too. He wanted to be able to ease a person's pain and help them live a better life, and with the help of his family, Veras, and 14 years of learning and training beside him he became a proper doctor. He married a beautiful woman, Taeri, daughter of a couturier and succeeded Veras as Sunberth's city doctor. He had a happy life, until his wife fell ill. She had found an artifact that Aeren picked up in the mine when young; it looked archaic and magical, so he took it to Grisham Grimswald in Tent City, who told him to never open because it emitted an inimaginably evil aura. And when she opened it, a malefice befell her. It made her frail as buttefly's wings. She could not be touched, spoken directly to, or even expose her to sun or heat, because she would slowly burn, freeze, wither or even break. Aeren knew no cure for such disease but he was convinced he would find it if he studied the ancient books at the library, but with each passing day his despair grew. Desperate to find anything that might save his precious Taeri, he spoke to the Elders of all the near cities, and learned from one of them that before the Valterrian, on the Suvan empire there were ancient ruins, mysterious even to the Ancient Humans, that held magical artifacts capable of curing any disease and dispelling any affliction, even the ones set by the gods. Encompassed on finding such artifact, Aeren indulged himself in mythology, legends and history studies for 5 years in reclusion, and when he finally came out he was another person; he became dark and desolate and quiet. He proceeded to grab his white coat, a small bag, his scalpels and went on a journey. A journey that encountered him with countless dangers and scenarios, learning something from each place he visited, and even facing death multiple times; and it is barely starting.
