Chandray looked at the svefra. He was a weird one, she thought. He seemed to think of an assault as entertainment. And she observed how unnaturally happy he had looked when he picked up the dead assassins weapon, toyed with it and kept it. What a sicko he seemed to be, actually ... It was beyond her to even guess what could be going on in the man’s blackhaired head ! Truth to tell she felt quite relived when he said he was going home to his boat to sleep. Otherwise she would have felt obliged to do the right thing and stay with him until he was patched up. The otter must have been hiding, but now it came to Kel and seemed ready to join him for the walk back to the sea. Little Jenkins was a cute as cute and lovely as ever. Chandray smiled at them, mostly at the otter, and said farewell. She stood for a while and watched them walk away and disappear out of sight. And that was that ... but not really. Because she now she had yet another trouble to consider. But she was getting used to unexpected trouble and optimist as she was, she hoped to find solutions. Chandray turned around and walked to Northwind Suites. She arrived to her apartment, where she kicked off the boots right inside the door. After taking off the shirt and pants she went straight to the bunk. But despite how tired she was, she didn’t fall asleep at once. A myriad of thoughts milled in her mind and she started to plan for the future. First. She had everything she needed to build the small sailboat she had been thinking of for a while. So early next morning she was going to take her materials down to the beach and start building. She hadn’t found anybody to help with it, but how hard could it be. After this evenings events it would be good to do something pratical that would keep her physically busy so she couldn’t fret over the situation. The more physical work the better, she thought. Second. Well, second ... she would need to start to look for Stefan. She hadn’t thought of it before the assault, but now when she lay in the bunk and was calm enough to search her memory for what she could have done that would make somebody call her thief, the only things she had picked up were the unusual dagger and those maps, that evening she and Stefan had been in The Rats Hole. Could these things be the reason for the attack? This speculation made her think of Stefan’s odd absence in a new and ominous way ... what if the people who seemed to be after her had attacked him too ? He wasn’t proficient with his new rapier ... Chandray didn’t want to think it, but now she started fearing something really bad had happened to the bard. She would need to look around for information about her new enemies anyways, and she would begin with searching for Stefan. Third. She might need to go back to Coil’s Club and speak with the dhani Rississa. Chandray doubted very much that the dhani was behind the assault - it didn’t make sense, as Chandray had promised her allegiance to her and it’s stupid to kill people you have in your rolls. Until now it had seemed bad to be in league with the dhani and Chandray had been thinking lots of how to free herself from it, but now things had changed. Being an ally of Rississa might be her best bet now, if she didn’t want to be all alone with the new threat - her enforced promise seemed to have it’s benefits. Maybe. Planning ahead had given her a sense of control over the situation and she was finally able to relax. She shut her eyes and soon she slept. Chandray's storyline contiunes here. ThanksMany thanks for a good thread Kel. And a very useful one for my future plots too, it was just what I needed to move on |
