Naiara Vevier
- Physical Information:
- Konti
Fall of 485 AV – 25
Female
- Physical Description:
- Naiara is nothing impressive when it comes to stature – though her small frame has delicate womanly allure. Her bust line and hips are roughly the same size with a strikingly feminine dip at her waist. Her legs, while not as long as most, carry her with unmatched poise, though it seems to come naturally, almost as if inherited, rather then really known. However, there is nothing that doesn’t appear fragile about Naiara’s appearance weighing only a scant one hundred ten pounds. And like all of her people she has gills and scales that are pale and iridescent on her already nearly alabaster skin.
She favors her hair the most, though the color it isn’t uncommon among the Konti, she enjoys the weight and length of having it down mostly all the time and especially likes to have it brushed. Naiara has full pouting lips softening the pronounced lines of her high cheekbones. Her almond shaped pale blue eyes are always hooded in a shaded, thoughtful way, though her face is an open book – every emotion can be seen clearly on it even if she doesn’t realize it. She often appears to look like her attention has drifted, or she is unfocused – like she may be daydreaming.
- Personality:
- Naiara is naturally quiet, though again, that isn’t uncommon. She rarely has much to say more for the fact that she can be exceedingly shy, especially around those she doesn’t know. While she isn’t a habitually nervous creature, Naiara tends to get flustered easily - lacking some important social skill that would allow her to interact with others, it seems. She only feels safe being in places she knows and rarely if ever wonders differently.
- Likes:
- Naiara is a musician, and plays any stringed instrument she can get her fingers around. And it has been like that since she can remember – even before, according to her mother. While she had done other thing ranging from painting to pottery, it has always been music that has drawn her in. It was something that really appealed to her sense of hearing, so that was most important. However she enjoys dance, and has found particular interest in doing mild training with Suvai, a three-pronged weapon, and even owns a set of her very own. (Nevertheless, she would never think to use anything she’s learned to actually harm anybody, and only does it as recreation to stay fit.)
- Dislikes:
- As with most Konti women, Naiara avoids any or all heavy conflict, or argument, other then that, she had no real problem with anything else. Generally she is an open minded individual…if you can get her to talk to you.
- Character History:
- Naiara’s beginnings were a seemingly common enough, she was the youngest child born to her family of three, and nothing should have put her apart from the rest of her siblings. But it soon became apparent that she was blind, but the reasons for it were never figured out. It became evident soon enough the handicap was nothing of a hindrance when it came to getting around. Naiara grew to find that her other senses served her better then her eyes ever would. Her hearing was sharper, and the tactile was more sensitive– even smelling something came in a little clearer then to others.
Still, because she lacked vision…there were things she missed out on and it took somewhat of a toll on her growing up. Naiara never knew what blue actually was only that it was a color and that it applied to certain things. Like her eyes, or the sky, it was nothing she had ever seen. But because of it, she became good at putting her imagination to use drawing things in her mind the way she supposed it looked based on others descriptions, like someone’s face. Nara often recalled her dreams, which her mother quickly informed her was her gift of foresight, spinning vivid tales and found she had a knack for narrating them.
It became clear at a young age that she was heavily dependant on her sisters, more so her mother, and even when she grew older, getting the urge of the call – particularly to find a mate, she can’t bring herself to leave Mura. Even with her resistance to leave her home her mother has taught her the traditional ways of their people, and never let Naiara feel sorry for herself, insisting that she to do things that any other Konti woman would. (Probably in hopes that she would some day venture out.) Because she hasn’t left, Naiara only knows common and Kontinese – something that hasn’t been to terribly upsetting, to say the least.
Despite it all she has lived, what she considers to be, a full and happy as possible life. It is uncomplicated and simple, peaceful and quiet. Naiara wants nothing more then that as her life…and doesn’t actively seek to change it. But even she knows that the path someone is intended to be on can be set in stone…or meant to happen, no matter what. But because of her limited life experience, she knows nothing of the world or the people in it, not really.
