Edmund Orchid Morealis Human, Male 63rd of Winter, 489 AV - age 24 Common Fluent Kontinese Basic Fratava Poor Knowledge & Training Possessions Housing & Family   Early Life There was little reason for Edmund to leave Blacksugar as a boy, so Edmund spent his childhood years studying under the array of tutors available to and hired for him. He studied the nuances of speech, the numbers of management, and even learnt a bit of Hypnosis from his sister. Come early adolescence, he had taken his studies into his own hands, learning mostly from reading and practice. It was his goal to train to become a Caretaker, as he had already plenty of knowledge that would benefit such a career. At this point, he needed practice in dealing with people and slaves, something he did his best to remedy.   Recent Years Commanding slaves was something at first difficult to Edmund, who in his innocence failed to grasp how it could be that this people he interacted with could be asked to do some of what they did. Years tempered the philosophy that he held, and he understood that it was for the good of the family that some slaves be driven hard. However, his original philosophy retained enough footing to teach Edmund a different way of dealing with slaves. This led to some friends among the slaves he organized during his late adolescence, something that Edmund feared he might one day come to regret as he entered the political sphere.   Character Overview Edmund, when one is able to talk to him, is quite friendly and familiar, if a bit proper and reserved. This is, however, limited. Being a Caretaker of his family's affairs, it is difficult for him make a simple social visit. He does frequently visit the city, and while there does his best to ignore his work in favor of purely social occasions, but it is not always within him to succeed. Most of his thoughts and time goes toward the tasking job he has readily accepted, and it is his sincere goal to find a way to bring all the dynasties closer together. He will forever be loyal to his own house, but his personality prefers amicable to hostile relations.   Occupation As stated previously, Edmund is a Caretaker for his dynasty. Amarantha was named after the rose, a symbol of love and beauty for all to admire. Edmund received the Orchid, whose meaning was a little more obscure. Allegedly the flower represents luxury, strength and beauty, but whether people are aware of this intended meaning is something else entirely. This particular gold orchid brooch is a gift to Edmund from his sister, given to him on his birthday when he turned seventeen. He cherishes it dearly and wears it proudly whenever he can.

Edmund possesses a family suite in the Morealis estate of Blacksugar. Amarantha Rose Morealis Younger sister Edmund has always been protective of his sister, though less in the confrontational 'don't talk about my sister like that' sense and more in the patient 'she's much better than you so don't talk about my sister like that' sense. It is a characteristic Edmund attributes to being a Morealis. Growing up, Amarantha was one of his closest friends and he treasures her like everyone else in the family does. Matthias Morealis Father Edmund's relationship with his father is mildly complicated. Since Matthias shut himself up in the distillery, neither of his children - nor anyone else in the family - saw much of him. As such, Edmund was raised more by his cousins and uncle, resulting in a much closer relationship with them. Edmund hasn't met with his father enough to really have an opinion, but he's smart enough to have suspicions.
