Jaye Feathered Fetlock Race: Kelvic Denusk Horse Gender: Female Age: 2 years Height: 6'2 Birthday: Spring 1rst, 512AV Birthplace: Endrykas Language Fluent Language: Pavi Conversational Language: Common Human Appearance Jaye is tanned a faint dun colour, her hair a deep black in the dead of winter that lightens to a light bay during the summer from her time outside. Plain looking she never attracts attention when she enters a room in her human form. Her beauty is the kind that can only be caught in movement. Goofy faces and asinine gestures contort her face frequently. Like all Drykas she wears her hair up typically. She often wears it in a messy side bun with flower or bird decorations to fix it in place. Her legs are long, the only indication she is a horse kelvic. Her shoulders are broad and she has yet to get the plumpness that comes with womanhood and appears slightly boney. Her long legs are the only things that move elegantly across the ground as she runs. In her human form, having spent so much time as a horse she seems a little at a loss for what to do with them. As natural as the human form is, and as much as she loves the use of her hands; arms and running just don't go together in her mind. Equine Appearance Height: 17.3hh Due to being born during the Djed storm of 512 AV her black coat is a dazzle of colours. Reds, coppers and golds ripple off her coat in the daytime while as dusk descends the reds deepen into a magenta followed by a royal purple. The coppers and golds bleed into it until they ripple a rich cream with flicks of silver. Her mane and tail are always long, grazing her shoulder or the ground respectively. She is a noisy horse by nature, snorting and playing with the bit constantly. Her lips are almost always stretched into some bizarre contortion. Her eyelashes are long, the only characteristic besides the long forelock that lends femininity to her rather short blocky head. Her neck at the throatlatch is narrow and broadens as it connects with her deep broad chest. Her withers are particularly high, making her a rough ride at the best of times but holding a saddle firmly on her back despite light or rambunctious foot work. She has a thick stocky body, suited to carrying heavy loads. Fortunately, her chest is deep and broad allowing for large lungs that lend her endurance. To the untrained eye she is a magnificent specimen, and many are dazzled by the bells and whistles of her appearance. Beneath that exterior she is a well built horse considering she wasn't the product of a long line of breeding and practiced perfection. Her head could certainly be daintier but the tapering neck allows for flexibility many other horses couldn't achieve. Her high withers make her a good prospect for intermediate and experienced riders who can stay on a rough ride and will appreciate the added stability and extra handhold while doing tricks. Her legs are thick, with large dinner plate hooves that spread her weight over the ground. Her pasterns are the correct length but her stance is slightly bowed, with her legs braced further than her shoulders. While this may simply be due to recent growth spurts that have left her a little awkward in her body it can't yet be determined how permanent the stance is. Furthermore, due to her young age while the chest and body is promising each proportion is slightly off, waiting for growth to finish deepening the hip and shoulders. The slant of her shoulder is steep, but with bulking out could slope with age. The steep slope makes for more explosive energy but can be more taxing on the ligaments and muscles than a sloping shoulder may in the future.

Character Concept Like most Drykas Jaye is open and extroverted. However, she places more importance on body language than speech as any horse would and will use her body to emphasize her feelings as opposed to her voice if given the chance. She is a loud horse, frequently nickering and making amusing sounds with her lips when bored but relatively quiet in her human form where she makes clicking and popping noises with her tongue to amuse herself. This is not because she is introverted but simply because she has nothing to say most of the time. She will argue her opinion as loudly as any Endrykas but prefers to keep herself busy and has the callouses to prove it. She is a simple child without much melancholy. She can be a difficult mount due to her awkward youthful gate but is always willing to work her hardest for her riders, assuming they brush her out and feed her carrots afterward. She is impatient and makes decisions on a dime. This is not to say she doesn't consider her actions but she simply doesn't see the need to run in circles with ones thought. She will do what she is praised for, and avoid what she is scolded for. Though this appears as simplistic Kelvic thinking to many Jay disagrees, she believes she was born to contribute and protect Endrykas and so long as all her orders are given with that in mind she will do her duty. She aspires to become a war horse, the wind beneath a magnificent leaders legs. Meanwhile, her favorite pastime is raising the birds she has collected over the past two years. When they go foraging she often follows them and is rewarded with fruits, nuts or grains for her efforts sometimes. Jaye took her name from the birds she became infamous for having dangling from her mane or hair, often unraveling the carefully braided buns she ties in the morning. Her pavilions name is Featheredfetlock and are known for their veterinary skills, equine message and for the swift horses they have breed for quick transport needed by the healers in their clan. These horses have their basis in a rare Avanthalian breed none remember the name of any longer but are characterized by long feathered fetlocks.

This glow aids the rider, allowing them to see the immediate ground before their horses feet. Meanwhile, it limits the horses eyesight which has a similar effect to covering a horses eyes during a fire and calms them. Meanwhile, in the daylight it shimmers in the sun making the black leather sparkle glamorously. This bridle was given to Jay by her parents when she received her first Strider as a child.

Pets As is typical of the Drykas, names are inspired by ones surroundings. Many of Jayes animals are named after plants that grow between the never ending grass.   Jade Jays Jade Jays are a flighty and quickly reproduce, although there are almost always Jays surrounding the woman in both forms she only names and coddles the ones who remain for long periods of time. Flighty birds they often disappear, sometimes for long periods of time but some have remained near her side for long periods of time won over by the reliable food. They are not tame birds and although some may accept head strokes or land in amongst her hair she nor others ever touch them without receiving a quick nip and possible attack. They do not defend the Kelvic woman in times of trial but will flee her side only returning when the threat is over to beg for more scraps. Despite this, she loves them all dearly. Though many have died, they almost always fly away to die and simply never return they replace themselves with their offspring or new birds brought in by her merry crowd. Name: Fortila Gender: Female Length: 3" Tail: 3" Wingspan: 7" Age: ~2 years Colouring: Temperament: The largest and oldest of the flock, she was the first bird the Kelvic began to feed. The most reliable of the group she is the only one who willingly receives strokes and may even seek them on rare occasions. She makes sure all the others behave themselves often much larger than even the other females her age having grown hefty from the steady supply of food. Named after the bright red Fortila flower that dominates gardens with both size and scent. Name: Heart Gender: Female Length: 2" Tail: 2" Wingspan: 5" Age: Young Colouring: Temperament: The brightest and most promiscuous of the group Heart is as absent as she is present. However, when she returns the Kelvic can't but help and notice her. She courts all the males, sometimes at once, and can only be kept in check by Fortila...sometimes. These two birds squabble almost constantly and Heart has been chased off by the elderly matriarch a number of times. Named after the Heart of Akajia for its brightness and beauty as much as its sporadic appearance. Name: Menitides Gender: Male Length: 1" Tail: 2" Wingspan: 3" Age: Very Young Colouring: Temperament: The only male that she has been able to distinguish Menitides is Fortilas mate. The smallest and youngest of the group he has only recently begun to come into his colours as his new blue plumage come in much brighter than the last. Name: Baby Cheeks Gender: Unknown Length: 2" Tail: 2" Wingspan: 5" Age: Unknown (At least a year) Colouring: Temperament: Unusually quiet Baby Cheeks is the palest of the group. Though she is at least a year old she never grew the dazzling feathers many of the others did. Jay has been trying many new recipes but Baby Cheeks feathers are typically the palest and rattiest of the group, sometimes plucking herself to near nudity. Name: Celphis Gender: Male Length: 2" Tail: 2" Wingspan: 5" Age: Unknown Colouring: Temperament: The newest consistent addition to her flock Celphis is a grumpy bird that often goes out of his way to squabble with the newborns. Jay has seen him perform the mating dance for Heart once, labeling him a male, but since her rejection he hasn't stirred. He is sometimes found helping Baby Cheeks pluck herself and has been scared away by Jay herself when found.   Mist Pigeons Jay has only just begun working with Mist Pigeons. More demanding than her Jade Jay flock these birds remain with her or in their cages at all times, strapped to the back of her father. They are less temperamental than the Jays and often allow Jay to gently ruffle their feathers. They are not snuggly birds but are being trained as homing pigeons, exchanging short distance letters between herself and her parents across the camp thus far. Name: Tavisa Gender: Female Length: 10" Tail: 5" Wingspan: 14" Age: ~1 years Colouring: Temperament: More boisterous than Kindar, Tavisa tolerates the curious Jays much better but can be aggressive around her food. She is much younger than Kindar and retains her first feathering which is a much brighter blue than the full adult plumage. She prefers to sit on Jays head and though she is much faster at exchanging replies between the family she is much less reliable than Kindar. Name: Kindar Gender: Male Length: 9" Tail: 4" Wingspan: 10" Age: ~2 years Colouring: His head is a deep grey while his body is dominated by the typical Misty Pigeon colours; yellow and green. Each colour has a deeply metallic colour. Temperament: Slightly smaller than Tavisa, Kindar has become relatively consistent at bringing messages across short distances and is much less easily distracted than Tavisa. However, he is a much slower flier due to a heavier colourful plumage.

Housing Location: Riverfall House: (Thread to acquire is in Progress) Windswept Condos View From Front : The entire building is crafted from dark stone and has a thickly moss covered wooden ceiling. A tall brick smoke stack is a recent addition. A tall poplar tree rests at one edge shadowing the house and keeping it relatively cool. A knee-high stone wall separates the cottage from the thin pathway that leads to it. It has fallen into disrepair after the last tenant was evicted for not caring for the garden. Moss and weeds grow between the cracks tumbling over the edge. The front pathway is framed by low pillars with carved balls on either side. The opening is large, about the width of two people and leads into a sheltered overhang before the door. To the right of the door rests a broken iron gate that creaks when you open it. View From Right Side (Pathway to Garden) : Bushes have overwhelmed the right edge of the cottage and almost drowned out a wooden trllis. Akebia vines have grown up and around this side of the cottage emitting a warm smell of chocolate from their purple and white petals. Hidden beneath several of the bushes out of view rests a hidden stone bird bath. The path is crowded. View From Rear : Two windows look out at the backyard from the kitchen and one large window door creates a passage from the garden to the living room. The garden has a small stone floor and an abandoned bench and narrow table sit in the back. Very sturdy but swollen and sodden with moisture from being left out all winter the table is at the same height as the window so it can be drawn up to the open window and cooling pastries placed upon it. The back is hedged with tall deep green bushes giving it privacy and a singular young weeping willow rests in the left hand corner. It weeping arms dangle along the floor. Many broken and discarded statues are discarded under the overwhelming foliage. Floor Plan : This is a first draft of the floor plan, as I work through it IC I'll make a better copy. View of Living Room From Bedroom : A low wooden balcony allows one to overlook the living room from the bedroom. The new fireplace is made from lighter stones than the rest of the building but the back has been burnt black from fires. Open wooden beams strangle the ceiling and on the floor are several furniture pieces. The small center table is made from the familiar iron the permeates Riverfall and has a thin glass surface. Two faint red couches rest on either ends, though heavily worn by the last tenant they are very comfortable. On either end of each couch are 2 iron stands. A large worn green rug with small vine images bordering the edge stretches across the entire floor keeping the warmth of the fire in. (The two leather chairs, and white foot rest ARE NOT in the room...yet ) Bedroom : On a half second level the bedroom buts up against the ceiling making it tall and angled sharply upward. The bedroom contains the basic necessities including an iron bedframe, white sheets and one bed side table. A patterned rug runs along one side of the bed over the wooden floor boards. A small mirror is hung from a nail gouged in between the stone wall. A window opens up above the bed overlooking the side of the house and obscured by vines from lack of care. (The couch and second table top in the photo are NOT in the room) Kitchen : The dining table is hunched beneath the winding stairway that leads to the bedroom above. The chairs are made from unsanded wood and a fabric backing. The table is small and circular, pressed against the window that peeks into the garden. The kitchen is mostly bare with only a couple cooking surfaces and a cooking fire place placed in one side.
