Nice tut!

Obviously this is a year overdue, but I highly recommend the use of 'refine edge' to make very precise selections (think hairs for example). Just right click on your selection and hit refine edge, then play with the radius values and tick the Smart Radius.

Or just watch some dude on youtube explaining the refine edge tool in more detail
