Wes Morse

Appearance

Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Birthday: 31 Day of Spring, 488
Birthplace: Ravok

Appearance: Wes is a light skinned individual, far from pale but not quite tanned either, cream would be the best way to explain his skin tone. He’s got stubble around his chin with stubble sideburns. He has light brown eyes which compliment his darker brown hair which borders on black and is easy to be mistaken as such.

He’s a rather tall individual standing just over 6 feet, a rather thick build; but he hardly has any muscle or fat. He’s got a small nose and a little larger than average ears. His hair is kept flat and looks rather unkempt. He usually wears black trousers with a white shirt and a thin black coat over that, his shoes are black boots.

Character Concept

Wes is a rather strange man that will keep to himself while staying social; he refrains from talking about his past, nor speaking about some of the things he had done in the past. He’s someone that will opt to speak to you in the pub, but will stay at small-talk or keep it purely professional. He’s a habitual smoker and it’s hard to find him without a pipe in his mouth. In general, he doesn’t care much for the feelings of the people he’s talking to, nor does he feel bad about manipulating them to meet his ends.

In general he find it hard to care about others and what they find valuable, this isn’t to say he’d kill people for the smallest things or destroy what they like for the smallest of reasons; but that he’s rather indifferent and stays that way until a person shows some form of worth; what Wes sees as worth is prone to change.

What drives Wes is information, finding out information or giving it out, he’ll be more than willing to manipulate others to gain his information whether this is by hypnotism or just plain old interrogation. He’s also willing to give information out but with a price attached and this is how he works to make a living.

In that fashion he’s fierce when it comes to protecting that information, if someone is willing to pay then he’ll stay quiet, but if they continue to be forceful; Wes isn’t beyond resorting to violence but that generally comes after all other avenues have been tried.

All in all Wes isn’t either a good nor a bad person, while he had done less that stellar things in the past that he deeply regrets, he does try his best to improve himself; though he doesn’t try that hard to do good either as he finds it rather naive to help others for no gain to oneself. In general his life revolves around money and gain, while he despises being extorted yet extorts others. His life is full of inconsistencies and hypocrisy that he refuses to acknowledge.

Character History

A born and raised child of Ravok, Wes was raised to praise and love Rhysol and The Voice as any other Ravokian would do; Wes’ life was generally normal, he learned things as a child like all did, was raised by two parents who cared for him and oh yeah! Those parents also happened to be magic users, his childhood might not have been that ordinary after all. He had learned a good deal about magic in his childhood and also about people in general. Magic wasn’t something that the normal populace liked to talk about or to learn too much about; or at least in Wes’ eye. Wizards also kept their ability to use magic a secret; and this is where Wes’ fascination with information and secrets started, to uncover the truth that people wish to hide.

In the following years Wes was initiated into Reimancy; a rather painful process but it was something he could deal with, or rather learned to get over. He ended up soaking the magic straight up both figuratively and literally. Just learning about it drove Wes to push himself harder, learn more and more. Until he began to learn hypnotism; it took him a while to get the hang of it as it was more an instinctive magic form. But when he did finally learn to use it, Wes began to truly love magic.

From that point on he used his hypnotistic skills to get information out of people, to learn more about them and draw out whatever he could without being noticed. This one-sided cat and mouse game was truly fun for him, and he truly enjoyed drawing the information out of people. It was years later that he truly found out just how valuable information was. Wes was 18 at this point in time, barely an adult; when he found himself talking to a man at a tavern. It was your usual talk with magic added in, both were necking down their drinks and just having a plain chat. Even though they had only met that day, Wes was able to make soften up the man and after hours eventually the man began to trust him. But it was at this point that he found himself too drunk to continue or recall any information that the man had given him until the following morning.

It was that morning that Wes woke up at his house and after a few minutes of groggily getting up he recalled that the man had mentioned a goddess, Akajia. After doing a bit of looking around places Wes managed to finally find information on her, and found out a good deal about the goddess and her domains. He found his goal that day and it was to get information out of the goddess of secrets.

He continued to stay within Ravok, got his own home, and continued to go out information hunting. It was one interesting day when he ran across a man who was willing to hire Wes to get some information from him after watching him do his thing at a local tavern. Wes was obviously delighted at being paid for going about his hobby. Wes unknowing of what the man was planning with that information gathered dirt on a local business man, slowly he managed to gain enough information to get the place closed. While getting the place closed wasn’t his intention, the man who had hired him for this job had indeed gone about making that information public. While Wes received his payment, he wasn’t very happy about being extorted in such a fashion, he was wracked with guilt.
