Character ConceptKars is a lively young man full of youth and adventure. He loves the Endrykas scene; charging about on horse and moving his pavilion with the rest of his clan. Though Kars thoroughly enjoys the partying, drinking, women, and late night bonfire festivities he shares with the rest of his companions, at heart Kars is very noble. He would gladly lay down his life for the shinning cause, and this drive to be a good person is what leads him to become such a skilled swordsman. Though he doesn't know it, he unwillingly follows the creed of "fighting by not fighting". It's true that Kars would rather pick a fight with a rapscallion rather than big-talk them out of it, but no one wants to go blade to blade with an avid fighter, especially such a hotheaded one (which gets him in quite some pickles). That's basically Kars in a nutshell!
Character HistoryWhen Kars was born, his family was marveled by his startlingly blue eyes. The were so deep and bright, many exclaimed they felt as if they were staring into the ocean (though very few had actually seen the ocean). They found themselves enchanted by the sparkling tints and flecks the reflected in their brilliance, like glinting ocean waves. His mother would tell him constantly that he was going to be a man "destined to ride from grass to sea and back", meaning he would be a true adventurer.
As Kars grew through the years, his ties to his family raised him in such a way to be a nobleman - though not the tempered kind of the cities. His nobleman spirit lay within the sprightly body of an endrykas youth, accustomed to its lively atmosphere and strong clans. Over the course of his history, he's done what he could to help those in need, occasionally risking his own life to protect a another. Kars is recognized to be a beautiful specimen with very handsome features, and often draws the attentions of many ladies from the clans. He is as hotheaded with romance as he is with everything else, but finds himself caught up in a bohemian ritual, jumping from woman to woman, following where his heart leads. Truly he's had his heartbroken, and he has broken many hearts. But the Drykas are truly a people to spring back, and not dwell and terrible pasts, as their pasts are ones of survival.

Note on Yvas:The Drykas use what is called a Yvas on their horses rather than bridles and saddles. A yvas is what equates to a girth with an attached breast collar combination hung with hooks and topped with a small flat hand grip that lays along a horse's shoulders. The Yvas is often placed over a colorful pad that acts to protect the horse from the rider. The grip fits over a strider's withers which holds the yvas in place. It almost looks like the type of thing vaulters used on their draft horses, though it is more functional than a vaulter's pad. The horses can free themselves from them if they got separated from their riders, and do not have tack to entrap or tangle them when they are running loose. The yvas has ring tethers on it for handling a set of wither bags and a waterskin, and is often decorated in knot-work beading that identified the horse and rider as part of a specific pavilion.
Drykas ride without any headgear or bridles on their horses at all. They do not use any halters either.
