This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

Adrienna had let him enter at his leisure, unspoken trust informing her that he would come in and not trot off with her flowers. She placed her bouquet upon the floor and gestured to Lucian. Between the two of them, they had an understanding and a way of thinking that allowed them to get the gist of what either wanted done without words, or what either might have been thinking, if only a vague notion. She had grown accustom to his silence and the way he directed himself as much as he'd come to anticipate her reactions and how to read them. It was invaluable, especially when she did not want a task to be broadcast to nearby ears for any number of reasons. She suspected Lucian enjoyed it because he did not like the sound of his own voice.

To be fair, she did not as well.

The Svefra entered and Lucian approached to relieve him of his burden while Adrienna walked off to look over her scalies and check on the condition of some. Her oldest snake was in the process of shedding but she was definitely alive despite the strange sheen covering her eyes; her forked tongue emerged when Adrienna tapped once upon the glass. Done that swift perusal, she checked upon her mice and the amphibians in their watery habitats before moving further towards the stalls and the larger beasts within, the ones that required homes with those who were not faint of heart; they were the Lynint Dynasty's mascot, these large scalies with their powerful jaws and cold demeanor.

Her attention was pulled away and she turned when the Svefra addressed her, Lucian already busy with arranging the flowers the way he wanted them in order to freshen up the scent of the store. She stepped forward as he did, not at all the sort of woman to sit and be placid. She smirked at him, at his offer, and her head inclined the barest degree as if to acknowledge and honour the offer as a valuable thing. However; ""As you can see, I have no use for wine in my store. Perhaps we could come to different arrangements, however." It was not to say she would not accept wine, as it might entice potential customers to buy from her if they were not in the right mind. She, however, thought little of such tactics. Her scalies were not for the weak.

The woman extended her own hand to accept his, that smile growing briefly as if she were even more proud of herself. This was not simply accepting an agreement with Tydus, however, although the Svefra could be invaluable. It was a means to an end; he was a means to an end. She would not forget mention of his employer in Riverfall who had sent for Kenashian wares. And he was right, of course. Adrienna would benefit from having a contact within Riverfall, a firm stepping stone there to brace her weight upon when she wished for more power.

"I believe you have yourself an agreement, Tydus," she allowed, letting his name roll off her tongue properly. It tasted funny, she imagined. Her disgust might have been evident, if not for the smirk. No, he had her fascinated. She'd be wise to keep disgust masked, especially since he seemed rather... open and free with his information and warranted her trust. "I think we can arrange to have you enjoy some of our finery. It is the least we can do."

She looked for her slave, who was tidying loose flowers from one of the arrangements. With terse words, she informed him that he was to complete the task and return to the plantation. It was not something she would often request of him, but a business arrangement could not be passed up, and this slave had no place being involved.

And with the shaking of hands, Tydus Tempest and Adrienna Lynint were linked. The Tempest scion was an intermediary, a means to an end, and he was well aware of this, but in this, there was victory. Tydus did not intend to live in the city of Kenash, own property, or even be liked by the public. He was there for a reason, which was, in this moment, embodied and given light. The elation that Tydus felt in his body, the sheer delight of his victory did not show in his face, but the whispers bowed to something much, much stronger.

The thought to continue manipulating the woman was completely eradicated as a laughter erupted in his thoughts. Absolute victory, one that was so much greater than what he had felt with Aedre. The weakness in the former Tempest Svefra was apparent, and the Hypnotism evoked to drive her into completely taking to his desires was distinct from this. To guide Aedre was what had transpired. Nudges in the right direction, turning what already was a malleable woman into a contact and, Tydus had no doubt of this, a puppet to his whims should he return to her. How simple it was to twist the weak-minded. But with Adrienna, he did not puppeteer the weak into following his whims.

He had painstakingly assembled the guide that turned a strong-minded woman, adamant upon hating his lack of status, into a contact. There was more to do, more to finalize and elaborate upon, a second wind of the task that it was to turn her to his side. A means, greedy and ambitious to be certain, but greed was one of the simplest things to guide. Adrienna was by no means in his hands as the other was, but her trust, her curiosity. Her desire to extend a hand to what was otherwise worthless to her. This was what Tydus had strove for, and he had found success in this endeavor.

The Tempest scion looked to his newest benefactor, a nod moving his lips as he replied to her,

"Of course, Miss Adrienna. An open agreement is by far the most useful, for I could be an asset to you in whichever capacity that you desire."

The smile that graced his lips was natural, his vibrant, ocean's blue eyes filled with a glimmer. Tydus was very clearly enjoying the conversation, an excitement present in his gaze, a confidence in his stature. Tydus Tempest was filled with a sudden, urgent desire to continue forth, and Adrienne clearly wanted the same. Her arrangement for finery was, of course, desirable. Tydus was one who was infatuated with finery. Luxury, the 'high life' of rum, intoxicants, pleasure and lush living accommodations was in direct conflict with his current situation, but it was a desire. A whirling dream of his, usually lost in the midst of his haunted soul, was to live in a larger ship with far more luxurious accommodations. A woman at every port to call his own, drink and pleasure available at his disposal.

Freedom and happiness for himself, but it was not just limited to him. To those he cared about, those he desired and took interest in. Tydus wanted to live in luxury. A life without worries. Especially now, for his life was so rife with conflict. Inner conflict that aspired to ruin him. It was disgusting.

A life where all is within the reach of one's hands is the only means to absolute contentment. A life where all of the world is possibility is one that I belong in.

The Tempest offered a grin at Adrienna Lynint when he released hold of her hand, nodding in agreement,

"So long as yer there to enjoy such finery with, Miss Adrienna. We simply 'ave to celebrate the birth of this business arrangement. T'is the beginnings of a very lucrative partnership."

Adrienna rejoiced in her senses internally, celebrating the solidifying of a deal that had begun with the offer to carry flowers. Tirelessly did Lucian work while his mistress and her newfound hand into Riverfall spoke. He was called away, however; Adrienna had use for him once again, stepping away from Tydus but for a moment.

"Give me a moment to make arrangements with Lucian here, and then we may be off," were her only words before she drew Lucian aside. There was a lockbox, tucked away against one of the stalls, which Adrienna brought out. To be fair, years of distrust and dislike did not ease away so easily, so she kept her back to Tydus as she made her arrangement with Lucian, all in hushed words. "The Caged Sun has what I want. Purchase a Chalice, and then bring a bottle of the finest red wine you can find. Come to the Lighthouse," she spoke to him in the hushed tones befitting a conspirator. Lucian accepted the task by holding out his hand, receiving the coinpurses that Adrienna had withdrawn, before they parted ways and she locked it up again.

Lucian departed without further word, but he inclined his head in farewell to Tydus as he went. Hoping his departure was distraction enough, Adrienna looked over Tydus with more interest, shrewd and calculating, from feet to crown, and found that while he was certainly shapely, and therefore good company, she was not actually fond of him. That was placed aside when she approached him and slipped on a smile. "I think it's time we leave, now."

This time, she let him lead the way, locking up the store behind herself. She joined him quickly enough and took up a spot at his side, unobtrusive enough to not be in another's way, but certainly not within intimate distance of him. She minded this with near reverence. She smiled at the realisation that she was paying it all such attention. She did not keep him in the dark for long.

"We are going to the Lighthouse, for its seclusion. I have something marvellous for you to experience, and it's best experienced in private," said the Lynint, lip curling at her own double-entendre. "I can promise it will be remarkable." However, she wouldn't know, personally: it was a drug she'd often wished to try and one she'd thought to use before meeting this interesting specimen. It was devious, deliciously so, and it required the constant presence of light. Adrienna knew the rumours.

It would be a remarkable experience.

She'd satisfy herself at his expense, at the cost of herself, and it would be worth it.

"Tell me about your employer," Adrienna returned to watching him from the corner of her eye while attempting to make some sort of conversation that wouldn't delve into the realm of small talk. "What are they interested in? I might be inclined to procure you goods to bring back."

"But of course."

Tydus Tempest took a step back as the Lynint turned to speak with her slave in hushed tones. If the Tempest scion was curious about what she had to whisper about, it certainly did not show. Rather, he set his gaze upon the reptiles in their glass... cases, he supposed. The young man watched a particular looking snake as it coiled around itself, the Tempest momentarily lost in the vibrant hues that splattered upon its scales. He wondered for a moment what they felt like, though his gaze faltered between the talking duo and the glass. Hide it, he certainly could, but Tydus wondered. He wanted to know what was being discussed but could, in the light of elation, control himself. Rather, his gaze traveled along the body of the glass, curious as to how difficult it was to break.

If the snake wanted to, could it break through? And... are any of these reptiles from the sea?

The Tempest scion pulled at the mark of Oceanus, weaving his focus into the snake before him, curiosity alight in his gaze as he strove to control it. The animal merely sat there, its head turned towards him in a moment of lazy curiosity. Tydus had failed, and all he could see were vibrant, slit-pupiled eyes of spite. It was almost as if the snake was laughing at his attempt, as if it had sensed it... But Tydus attributed the paranoid thought to his inability and cast the feeling aside. And when he did, he realized that Adrienna and the slave had finished speaking.

The Tempest did not notice the gaze that slipped along his form when he turned to face the Lynint, but he heard her words. He was not so foolish as to not understand the reasoning behind their re-location. It was out of caution, he supposed, for them to stay here was to expose Adrienna to scandal. This certainly seemed to fit his definition of her. Adrienna Lynint was, in his eyes, a predator. She was similar to the snakes she kept under her care. She lashed out at that which opposed her. She attempted to defame that which threatened her. She had done it with Tydus before he mustered up her fascination with him, and even now, part of Tydus wondered if the woman even liked him. Not that it mattered.

Personal affection is the crutch of those too weak to support themselves. A tool for someone like myself to use against others. Not against Adrienna, perhaps, but others.

More and more, Tydus was becoming cold to the false reality of budding love. Tatianna had betrayed him in her deceit, the Tempest Pod was lost to the sea. Personal advancement was the only thing that kept him going, and it was all that he lived for. Love for one's surviving family, Kel. Love for one's self and the glory of riches. His faith for Laviku and Zulrav. Those were the only things in his life.

I don't need anything else in my heart. Or want anything else. Feelings only cause complications.

It was only the years of talking to others and pulling them to his mindset that allowed Tydus the capacity to deny his own feelings. To manipulate one's self was a subtle art, but in his denial, he flourished in it.

Tydus cast the thought aside with ease as Adrienna led him out of the store. When she stayed back to lock the building, he pushed forward, not quite knowing where he was going, but she quickly caught up with him. When the woman mentioned a Lighthouse, a single eyebrow perked in response. It was one thing to seek solitude in a house or a different building, but a place that was likely completely deserted? That was distinct.

The sly... Well, that's not a problem at all, is it?

A smirk threatened to layer his features, though he simply nodded in response. Her question, however, took some thought,

"That's absolutely fine.

Caelum? He's a very... sly man. Very well-respected, very intelligent. But, he trusts very easily, it seems. Which is useful, for me. He's a very wealthy medical specialist in Riverfall. He owns a rather high-class tavern called the Alements.

He is very much interested in the rum in Kenash, though I've heard that there are other things here, as well... Plants, perhaps? Native herbs that could be traded? Spirits that are unavailable in the city? It's all dependent on what could be obtained. He has a very diverse range of interests.
"

Tydus did not tell Adrienna that his employer was an Ethaefal. Racism was common in most parts of Mizahar, and the Tempest did not want to complicate matters by adding a face and identity to his employer.

Not yet.

When Adrienna looked him over, the desire to want him was but a small flame beneath the desire to know him in the way she had refused to know any other outsider. He had spun his web heavily, enforcing her curiosity, but even she could not deny that there would be something dark that required secrecy which would flourish when they'd instigated what she had planned for him. She smiled, a thin thing that was neither outright loathing nor blatant infatuation. In matters of love and affection, Adrienna considered herself above such a primal pull. Love was for the foolish, begging to be used. She did not doubt that it could be bought.

But she did not desire to buy from someone she considered fascinating, yet below her. Trysts were best carried out in secret, and secret was best uncovered publicly. In Kenash, it was less a where as compared to a who.

The Lighthouse served two purposes, and she really would enjoy seeing how he responded to both.

She found herself enraptured by the words he spun of this mysterious employer of his, words that she trusted for he had not given her a reason to feel otherwise. Caelum was a unique name; it belonged to a star, she knew, but not one she could pinpoint in the blanket of night sky. He seemed... strange. Trusting, but sly. He did not seem to be a match to Tydus, who was easy to trust and incredibly open. Of course, there was always more than what one saw upon the surface. She was even more intrigued and made a note of his name, his business, and what his store was known under. This was the man with whom she wished to extend the hand of business, in the end.

Even if it was at the expense of this Svefra.

Honestly, she considered herself cunning, as if it had been an arrangement she had sought purposely.

From business, to pleasure.

"I have something to offer him, should Lucian succeed in acquiring it for me. You might enjoy it; there is nothing of it's like that I have experienced in my years. However, it can be overwhelming," said Adrienna. The Lighthouse was more than just a secluded space to share warmth in secrecy. "Our tobacco, our rum, our slaves... these might be fine imports for him. Really, you must name what you wish procured, and I shall see if it can be managed." It was a broad offer, but it was not a promise. She appealed to greed as much as he sought to; her dealings served herself, in the end, even if they did not benefit the Lynint as a whole.

Both pursued what the other had to offer, openly and not-so-openly. It would have brought her attraction to him, if she'd known how well he could play the game. It was better that she did not.

Adrienna reached for him, grasping his arm to guide him through a gaggle of youth that Adrienna pegged, almost immediately, as Freeborn due to the marks upon their hands; she kept a watch for them, as well as for the brands upon the slave faces, with great vigilance. Adrienna protected her nest as a mother granidile would protect her eggs, her gaze wary upon the others that flitted about in the swamp who pretended it their kingdom.

She kept her hand upon him, but it was not a grasp meant to be painful. He had not proven a fruitless investment, so she would treat him as she would treat a hatchling snake: as if she loved him. When they'd passed through another group, though, did she release him and return to the distance she had kept. It kept her from losing him, which was what mattered, and with him there right next to her, she nodded her chin to gesture at the lighthouse jutting from the horizon. "It is almost always abandoned, these days."

Adrienna was being unwise with her words. The Tempest scion could see that despite the disparity in their status, the Svefra was the wiser of the two in regards to speaking to another person. She was making claims that were unfounded. Almost outright lies, if he inspected them thoroughly. But, she had status. She made the claims that she had, and she could, perhaps, come through with a coupling of them. She was an investment of Tydus' time that would grow and bear fruit almost immediately. It was simple to see that the Tempest had not spent the djed he had mustered without merit.

A wise investment. Adrienna Lynint is nothing more or less than a means to an end, if an attractive one. She is offering immediate pleasure and a gift that you failed to bring back in your previous visit to the city. Best to entertain her desires and leave her wanting more of you.

The last part was the simple one, but it would require time to recuperate the djed he had lost in the midst of casting. Breathing provided fresh energy to the body, so the passage of time would assist. Drink provided a greater extent of it, though digestion took time. The Tempest needed to budget his time appropriately if he were to continue his manipulation of the woman.

To have a hold on her is what it necessary. I have her trust. I have her curiosity. In the future, I will need to have her heart, as well.

A false statement, but in the midst of his want to manipulate, the need to control and direct... it was all but essential that Adrienna succumb completely to his will. The Tempest had perhaps overplayed his hand, and despite his own feeling of being completely in his usual mindset, part of him was lost in the midst of his machinations. The Tempest smirked at Adrienna Lynint as he noted where her grasp lay. They had pushed through two crowds of people with relative safety, but it was through Adrienna's actions that he realized that she was hiding something.

This shrew is attempting to keep to her reputation, but still use me to her pleasure. It's... rather fascinating, to be honest. But, alas, I am not inferior to her. I'll put her on the spot. See how she reacts.

Tydus Tempest had simply nodded in reaction to her words, peaked curiosity at exactly what it was that Lucian was in the process of procuring, but it was not difficult to tell that she meant an intoxicant. Alcohol was far too mild for Adrienna Lynint, it seemed.

A drug.

The answer was obvious, and Tydus smirked again before he turned on the spot. The man did not attempt to wrest his wrist from her grip, but he turned it in her hand. Tydus Tempest stood directly before Adrienna. The Tempest leaned forward ever so slightly, keeping his voice low so as to keep the conversation between himself and Adrienna. He suspected that she would appreciate his care to do so in hindsight,

"Fantastic, Miss Adrienna. However, before we go on an' proceed with our 'business', I'd like to make a request. Made sure that your slave is not around, and that none er here to hear yeh admit it. But, I am not your inferior. I am a business partner, and thus, I'd appreciate ye not tryin' to hide me lack of a mark to suit yer purposes."

The Tempest would lean farther forward, and if he was not denied, he would press his lips to Adrienna's. A momentary contact accompanied with the base touch of his hand upon her hip, a rather sensuous motion done with the sole intent of petching with her head. Both his words and his actions were done to prove his point.

Tydus was inferior to no one.

"Let's move on then, shall we?"

The Tempest's lips were curled into a vibrant smile as he stepped forward, lightly pulling on his wrist to encourage the Lynint to accompany him to the lighthouse.

In the right setting, Tydus Tempest was nothing more than a shark in bloody water.

Adrienna allowed him his advances, his words that spun into her head, and smiled at him with a show of teeth one might find in a feral dog or wounded slave protecting their own. He was a shark, but this was not bloody water. This was the city, this was the swamp, and she was the granidile who ruled it.

She took hold of him to bring him into the deathroll; his kiss was met without response for a tick, a breath of a moment, before she reciprocated, and she did so with full intention to petch with his head, even releasing his wrist, which she'd grasped in an attempt to not lose him as they passed through the masses. He took her waist in what was meant to be a sensual motion, and she took his hair and held him there, if only for domination's sake. This was her domain. They simply shared breath for a moment, and that moment was short, for she almost thrust him from her in her hurry to not go further than she intended.

"You will learn," said Adrienna before they parted from that intimate space, what others could consider words of affection between lovers. He had her interest, he had her curiosity, and for now, he had her desire. In more ways than one did she plan to have him fulfil them, but she would not take another attempt to be put down. Not from him.

She liked him for trying, however, even if it was flushed with resentment.

The Lynint reclaimed his wrist, more for necessity than for effect, and let him lead her, tug her along, and enthrall her. Her smile mirrored the unseen one he wore, for she anticipated his desire to upstage her, to prove himself worthy of more than the label of inferiority. If anything, she'd love to have him brought to the Sun. He'd be worth it, she imagined, and the image was as intriguing as the notion of him being important within the city, and within her little isolated world of "benefit or detriment".

They made the lighthouse, stormy sea threatening as it silhouetted the abandoned building, and she paused for a moment to appreciate Zulrav's defensive wrath before taking the lead, tugging now upon him to guide him forward. There were few to watch them here, however, Adrienna was fully aware of how word would pass regardless. She may have unintentionally given the Svefra some importance.

"You'll need to open it for me; I have not gotten in when it was not open before," she finally released his wrist, as there were less people to wade through and so less chance to lose him. Tentatively, she tried the door on the off chance it was unlocked. It was not. She loathed to make him do something for her, but breaking in was not a skill she had that she assumed the Svefra could account for, if only with strength alone.

When Tydus had reached to touch the woman's waist, he had felt a strange object brush against the inside of her wrist. A smirk materialized upon his features when he looked down to notice the presence of a dagger. Tydus did not look to see which type it was, nor if he had been looking would he have been able to identify it... but it intrigued him. The woman was ready and able to defend herself if the need arose. As was Tydus, usually, but the city of Kenash did not allow for weapons to be held by visitors.

The Tempest was not uncomfortable with the notion of abandoning his self-defense, but swept up into Adrienna's retaliation as he was, he had not the chance to further his thought process. Adrienna Lynint absolutely was the predator that Tydus imagined her to be. Fingers raked into his hair and lingered there, holding him in place as she reciprocated his kiss. The motion lasted but for a moment before she pushed him back, and Tydus could swear that he noted a hint of breathless desire in her. If he was correct, he could not be sure, but it most certainly was present in him.

Tydus amounted the battle of wills between them to be the shark against the snake, a strength of wills, predators in their respective domains. And in Kenash, Tydus was the visitor. Not she. She had caught him off guard, and for the moment, the Tempest deemed it prudent to recoil back and strike at a later time. He had no intention of losing their battle of wills, however, and when they arrived at the Lighthouse, he would cast his gaze over the length of her body. The Svefra was hungry for her, and he would more than satisfy his desire. But, her words came to him first.

The door was locked... It did not looked to be chained, and to be fair, it had the swept up look of being all but abandoned. Tydus spotted nothing that could alert him to a powerful, maintained lock on the door, though perhaps he was not looking hard enough. He stepped forward and pressed his fingers to it, then placing his entire palm upon the door to push it roughly. The motion shook the door, but it did not open, and the Tempest listened for a smooth transition.

Tydus knew not whether rust was present on the lock or not, but in remembrance of Adrienna's weapons... an idea formed. He desired to, again show the woman the breadth of his victory this day. And he would do so. The Svefra turned around again and moved close to Adrienna, purposely brushing his body against hers, their proximity enough that they could again share the same oxygen, vibrant eyes of the ocean's depths casting upon Adrienna Lynint once more, the gaze holding hers for but a moment as his fingers pressed to her side. He leaned in to whisper, a smirk playing upon his lips, the cast of mischief upon his gaze,

"I'll be borrowing this for a mom', Miss Adrienna."

The Tempest winked at the woman before he stepped away, and if successful, her dagger was held between his fingers, the Tempest swiping it from the sheathe she held it in and turning back towards the door. The Tempest inserted the dagger into the crease between the door itself and the wall that it was hinged upon. His intent was to find the lock, a gentle clink audible when he finally did. He directed the dagger side-ward, feeling around the clasp of the lock to find the rod that held it in place. When he did, the Tempest pressed forward with force. The dagger slipped from his grasp and fell to the floor, penetrating the earth as the lock shattered beneath the thrust.

The rusted iron lock was no match for the tempered steel that Adrienna had kept, and though Tydus was met with a flicker of pain in his wrist, the extremity twitching weakly as nerve cells were met with brief fire, they were in. Tydus picked the dagger up from the floor and stepped forward to sheathe it again with Adrienna before stepping forward to open the door.

Tydus held the door open for Adrienna as a low, "After you, Miss Adrienna," escaped from his lips.

And that was the first lesson.

It was in a roundabout fashion, once he'd taken something of hers, but in the end, Tydus did concede to her. He bowed to her innocent request, to his lust, or to some other outside factor, but the fact remains that he had done this, that he had opened the door she wanted opened, and all she had to do was actually appeal to him. If he were not the shark, she would smile and consider him generous, but it would ruin what she thought him to be. He was neither dull nor giving, except for a price.

She would reap the price, now.

Adrienna entered at his gesture when the door had been opened, proceeding slowly to become accustom to the lower level of light. As with other times she'd entered, the place seemed to be in disrepair: unkempt and uninhabited on the lower level, but she knew the higher level, her goal, to be clearer.

She proceeded inward without him, stepping delicately aside to avoid some mysterious piece of equipment that the Svefra was likely to recognise. There had to be-- yes. As she went, she encountered what must have been the remains of someone's sleeping area, or at least the place they decided to rest while on duty, and she dragged a tight roll of blankets from the mess. Not fond of dirt nor splinter, the Dynast sought comfort. Even in her trysts did she pursue the finer pleasures. It was perhaps a vice that coloured her deeply.

"Come," she gestured for him to accompany her up the stairs, to the light itself. She was cautious in this moment, having heard from others what Fizz could do to a person and having decided to pursue it in private for that reason. He might not yet know (she counted on this being new to him), so she would show him.

At the top did she lead him to the side, away from that bright light which kept the city marked for distant sailors. There was a stormgem within the light, however, Adrienna disregarded it. To her, the Wind God was not of much importance, but she allowed him a moment or two as she laid down the blankets in order to make them a comfortable place to dose. When done, she sought for him. It was with hunger that she yearned for him, rather than for the satisfaction of her curiosity, or in order to become slightly accustom to working with someone below her. She gestured for him to join her and, if he required prompt, she provided it.

They were properly alone now. She reached for him in a gesture that was more sensual than not, as before, and lowered herself upon the nice little arrangement of blankets with the tug to insist he join her. Frankly, Adrienna had many men to spend her time with, but none that warranted an arrangement like this, and so even though she hungered for him, desired to enforce upon him the severity of her own dominance, she cautioned herself. It was new and not entirely unwelcome.

Tydus had set foot in a lighthouse before. He held vague recollection of the vibrant light that shined with the strength of the sun flaring into the horizon. It was a rather magical sight to have seen it on the way into Kenash, and though from the distance Tydus could not tell how exactly the light was powered, he could now. Tydus recognized the form of the stormgem, though he knew very little of how it worked. They were sought after gems and very powerful, but his knowledge of them was negligible. They were products of the God of Storms and Wind. Zulrav was a deity that Tydus took heart to, the reverence to his power above the sea almost as present as Tydus' faith in Laviku, but for the moment, it was unimportant.

There were other things to be noted in this place, and when Adrienna gestured for her to join him, he saw it from the corner of his deep blue-set eyes. He followed without hesitation, the Tempest's right shoulder rotating, his left hand moving to remove the shirt from it. The shoulder that carried his shirt was, unlike the left, unadorned. Oceanus was normally carried upon the right, and it would return there silently, the whale moving across the musculature of his back, the waters bubbling upon the surface of his skin as the anemone was pulled from place to place. The deep sea made its place upon its favoured spot, but Tydus was far less occupied with the mark and far more with the woman that prompted him to join her.

She lowered herself to the bed, and Tydus took clear advantage. By allowing him to take place second, she had allotted him control of the situation. His left hand lowered to catch his weight ad he set upon the bed, Tydus finding himself directly on top of the woman. His core kept his body suspended before he set forward, the fingers of his right moving to thread into Adrienna Lynint's hair. It was a motion kindred to that which she had set upon him earlier. Meant to keep her in place. The snake was far more meant to coil about than the shark was, but Tydus was not one to do so. He hunted. He sought after. He struck. While the water and the sea were his allies, Tydus' hunt did not limit itself to the sea. Interest, intrigue, desire, lust. Those were what he smelled for rather than blood.

And though the shark operated by instinct, Tydus was meticulous. He kept the snake bound by her hair before he struck, his lips would fit themselves into hers, parting them rather insistently, head tilting slightly as he sought to taste his prey. He would partake of her, devour her, and demand of her, but all in its time. The Tempest scion wished to enjoy what he consumed this eve.

It was a rare opportunity that Tydus had the chance to engage in a predator. The women of Riverfall were prey. In their subjugation by the monsters that took form of men, the Akalak, they became meek. It almost repulsed the Tempest, and it compelled him to step from their territories after the hunt had ended. Meek, powerless, defenseless. The predator ate well in the city of Riverfall, poaching upon the scattered, terrified prey that the monsters left behind.

This was distinct. And he found that he enjoyed it all the more for that reason. Tydus reveled in the hunt that had begun, and he tasted in his prey, his tongue darting forth to entangle with hers as his free hand moved from supporting him on the bed. Entangled in blankets, set upon comfort, Tydus did not need to show caution. His body would press to hers as his hand began to roam in earnest.
